I asked to speak to the manager and was told there wasn't one. I was visiting Bricks Pub when my car was towed without justification. When I went to retrieve my vehicle, the credit card machine wasn't working, so I was forced to use their ATM which charged me an additional $8.50 fee on top of the already inflated tow cost. They were in violation of their own posted policy sign which states, "VEHICLE STORAGE FACILITY MUST ACCEPT PAYMENT BY CASH, CREDIT CARD, AND DEBIT CARD FOR ANY FEE OR CHARGE ASSOCIATED WITH DELIVERY OR STORAGE OF A VEHICLE." To make matters worse, they kept 53 cents of my change instead of returning it. When I got back to my car, my vehicle detected a collision alert, suggesting it was hit or mishandled while in their possession. There was zero accountability or concern from their staff. Between the sketchy payment setup, lack of transparency, improper towing practices, and possible damage to my car, this company should be investigated. I would never recommend ATX Towing to anyone. I will be reporting them to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

However, our experience with Harper helped us get through it. They were very quick to the scene. They towed our car from a busy Austin roadway to our residential neighborhood and on to our driveway. (All this through very narrow streets without damaging any cars parked on street.) Our tower (Ballard) was very skilled in getting our car on and off the truck and very courteous throughout. Our experience was the opposite of what you might expect from an impound lot and towing service. A-Tex has good people who do a good (and necessary) job at a fair price. He wasn't in a wreck, truck just wouldn't start. He asked what it cost and was told "if you have insurance then you don't have to worry about it". Then, after presenting it as "help," they hit him with contracted rotation pricing, charging over $300 just to hook up his pickup and move it into the parking lot next door. I understand rotation pricing in an emergency or urgent situation, but this was completely taking advantage of a young kid. I am on disability because I was hit by a car , I should not be getting towed from where I live and they are being corrupt with lies and towing my vehicle that shows I live here. I will go to the News that investigates business , customer service and taking money from people with their lies and corruption of Austin residents. We scheduled a 7 AM arrival for pick up of my vehicle. He was spot on on time. It took him about 40 minutes to maneuver my car the position it was in and get it loaded onto his flatbed.
