Southway pizza is usually very good, but the last 2 times I have ordered it has been messed up. Last time it was dry and tasted like it sat in the window too long. This time the crust is VERY MINIMAL.. we ordered just reg pizza and got the THINNEST crust I have ever seen. I am sure the cheese is thicker then the crust.for the amount you pay for a pizza here you would expect the crust to be atleast like a peice of bread.... but once again they missed the mark. They can't even get a regular pep pizza right. SO sad it has gone down hill so badly.

Solid food, really good and unique pizzas. Definitely will go again. Reasonable prices for the size of the pizzas.

The restaurant is divided into an indoor dining area and a coffee house section. I came here for a quick breakfast and decided to dine in at 7:15 AM on a weekday. [Parking]: Easy parking in the designated parking lot on a weekday morning, but the lot can get crowded during busy lunch hours. With that being said, it shouldn't be difficult to find additional street parking in this part of town. [Atmosphere & service]: Cozy and comfortable vibe. Service was fairly standard and my waitress did offer a coffee refill so a thumbs-up. Live music available on every Friday evenings. [Menu]: Some of Yelp's top recommended items include the Steak Salad, Kale Salad, and Beet Salad. The breakfast menu is served from 7 AM to 10:45 AM Monday to Saturday. It was hard to figure out what their signature dish was so I ended up ordering the Lobster Benedict. *** Lobster Benedict (poached eggs / lobster / sliced tomato / spinach / hollandaise sauce / chives / english muffin - $17): Not horrible, but not amazing either. I could taste a hint of shredded lobster. The hollandaise sauce was alright. The hash browns just weren't as good as those hash browns at Frank's Diner in Spokane. *** One of those places that's fine for a casual local breakfast or lunch, but at the same time this spot is not exactly a must-visit.

That might have been the heat exhaustion, but what I can say is that turkey is the ticket when you order your food here. It is KNOWN for its large sandwiches. The turban (turkey and pastrami ruben) is my goto. I've had the jumbo ( turkey stuffing and cranberries) Truly a second stomach kind of thing. I've had the ruben which was good but left me craving the turkey. And I've had the French dip. Which was good but again lacked the focus. My wife recently had the BLT which was blasphemy to me but it had all the right things in the right places. And a pile of bacon. I can only speak for the bar seating and HAPPY HOUR 3-6pm which has good appetizer and drink specials. And truly frigid air conditioning. Which is a welcome thing in July and August. We responded yes and I asked him to clear the plates as his hands were empty. He proceeded to argue with me and said he'd rather wait u til we were gone to do so. I explained to him, as a former waitress, that it's polite to clear tables of empty dirty plates. again he argued with me and walked away without the plates. Wowza. I was polite, and yet he couldn't be bothered. I also had to ask the server to take the plates too. I find this so odd, as removing dirty plates is SOP in any restaurant. One more note, when refilling water glasses, it should be done with a pitcher and not taking a customers glass away to do so. This is all basic restaurant etiquette .

We got there right around 6PM on Monday. There were only two other parties there so service was pretty quick. I think we got our food without 15 or 20 minutes. Chicken Fried Steak Burger ($15.49) - Starting with the meat, we have a pork chop that's breaded and fried. The pork still has a bit of fat and gristle attached and doesn't seem to be tenderized that much given a somewhat more firm bite. Still it's meaty, has good seasoning and, while not especially moist, isn't dry either. On the exterior they have a nice layer of breading that's quite salty but adds a good crunch to the sandwich. On top of the meat, there's a fried egg with the egg yolk still runny. Biting through the sandwich allows the yolk to ooze out. They add shredded potatoes to the burger, which I found to be quite week. The potatoes are undercooked, resulting in pieces that have a bit too much raw bite without any additional crisp crunch. There's a peppery and decadent sausage gravy dousing everything, which seems homemade, with larger pieces of breakfast pork pieces. I found the burger to be way too rich and it desperately needs a piquant element to cut through that a little bit. Otherwise it's eating heavy bite after heavy bite and is difficult to get through. Still it's tasty. (3/5) Upgrade Side to Poutine ($2.49) - The burgers come with fresh cut fries by default, but I chose to upgrade to poutine. Apparently if you just ask for poutine, they use tots, but I asked them to switch to fries - and to make them extra crispy. Were they extra crispy? Not at all. If anything, they were more like extra soggy. The fries are clearly single fried and not fried nearly long enough to add any sort of crisp. The brown gravy and queso (tostitos perhaps given the peppers?) taste as expected. With everything together, it's honestly indistinguishable from microwaved leftover poutine. Probably the most disappointing thing I ate that night. (2/5) KC's Burger ($11.49) - The patty is beefy, cooked medium with a bit of pink, and is exceptionally moist and flavorful. They add tons of veggies, including pickle, onion, tomato, and lettuce, giving freshness with every bite. There's a perfect amount of condiments to add additional moisture, but not too much to make the burger messy to eat. This is a solid burger, honestly not much else I can say about it. (4/5) Upgrade Side to Green Bean Fries ($2.49) - I haven't had green bean fries before, so I had to order this. I have to say this was much better than expected - in fact, this was the best thing I ate during the meal. They have a pretty good crisp exterior and the interior green bean is mostly tender but still exhibits a tiny bit of a snap. The green beans are not soggy at all. I would get these over and over again. (5/5) Frybread Slice ($1.49) - This was the last chance to get frybread on our road trip and we took advantage of it. This "slice" is essentially a small doughnut triangle, maybe 4 inches at the widest. The dough is dense and heavy, bready and chewy, folded over in a swirl rather than flattened. The taste has a bit of a subtle sourdoughy taste, but also a bit of bitterness from the oil. It's definitely very different from all the Native American frybreads we had this trip. (4/5) The food at KC's is a bit hit and miss, but if you stay with the burgers and avoid getting the fries, you'll probably leave satisfied. I see a lot of the negative reviews complaining about service, but we didn't have a problem. Perhaps since those reviews were written, the staff has improved? Bathrooms: Two individual rooms ones for each gender in the hallway behind the bar. Overall rating of the food this visit: 3.6/5
