Went into Imua today (June 11, 2026) for lunch with my family of 5 hungry, was greeted by host Junior (Junya) with positive Maui vibes. We ordered the IMUA Mix Plate three choices: double poke (shoyu) and breaded teriyaki beef, Loco Moco, Chicken Katsu, & Kalua Poutine. Everything we tried was 'Ono (in Hawaiian means "delicious" or "tasty"). My wife and I were pleasantly surprised how good the breaded teriyaki beef tasted, highly recommended! All the kids liked a little bit of everything. Francesco (5) loved the Kalua Poutine and ate most of it. Kepha (6) ate a bit of everything and made sure there was no leftovers (mopped da plate clean). Lily (8) loved her loco moco and was told she had to share with here brothers, lol. Wife and I enjoyed the breaded teriyaki beef and the katsu. The Katsu sauce was just like the back home style/japanese style. I gotta admit looking at the poke I had my doubts, but after tasting it, "SHE GO" this poke would guarentee sellout back in Hawaii, the flavor of the poke is just like Hawaii but Imua's unique way. We also had 3 shave ice ube, mango, and blue vanilla, so far best shave ice I've tasted in the mainland. Imua's is authentic Local Style Hawaiian Food and the quality is undeniably top notch, this is the first restaurant in the mainland that I've been to where all of the food taste like back home (Hawai'i) and all the food taste good! There wasn't a dish where I was like only this one or these two taste good, noo, all the food tasted 'ONO, broke da mouth kine good food! I could not be happier with my experience at Imua! I called ahead of time to ask some questions about their gluten-free options. They were so kind, explaining the precautions they take to accommodate their customers with Celiac (including a dedicated gluten-free fryer for their fries, only having gluten-free soy sauce in house, and changing gloves/utensils to reduce the risk of cross contamination). I felt very safe eating here and great afterward (no symptoms of having gluten). The food was incredible and full of flavor. This will definitely be a staple for me when visiting the area. read more

Stopped in Imua Hawaiian Style when I came to Lewiston for work last couple times. Wow this place feels like and tastes like home. Alright, I will be the first to let you know I was VERY surprised to find a Hawaiian restaurant in Lewiston, ID. VERY SURPRISED and a little apprehensive... BUT I was absolutely wrong! Honestly, I was expecting a "haolefied" style of Hawaiian food. But the restaurant exudes Hawaiian hospitality with the Aloha spirit! The owner, Junior, is a true home-grown Hawaiian-born local, he wecomes you like you are dining in his home. It is located on Main street in downtown Lewiston, so street parking is what you have and it's pretty easy to find. You do place your order at the register, find a spot to sit and enjoy the island grooves playing. I ordered the Imua mix plate with Kalua pork and Shoyu chicken, which also comes with 2 scoops of rice and mac salad - a typical plate lunch. I have to say the Kalua pork was legit! My son who is a temporary local for basketball and college recommended this (despite being from CA, he swore we would love it). We brought six of us unfortunately right at closing but they didn't tell us. They took our order and started working on our food. The later asked us if they could pack it to go but we were welcome to eat there so they could clean up. We ordered everything, volcano fries, loco moco, katsu, pork sandwiches and more. Everything was so delicious, even their mac which is common with a Hawaiian entree was a blend of Mac and potato salad, such a great idea! My family and I was feeling hungry late afternoon and I didn't want no more burgers, fries, or pasta. I Yelped for food places in the area and came across this here. After reading reviews I wanted to check out the place. When I walked in and saw who is behind the scene (someone from Maui - see the chain of islands on the wall and Maui is highlighted) the food was going to be of that back home. To my surprise it was better than what we get back in Hawaii. The service was great. The owner?? Was friendly and nice. The ambiance was welcoming. Again, the food was absolutely great. I have been hearing this is the place to be if you want Hawaiian food! I gotta say, it did not disappoint! Now one thing I'll say is there was a bit of confusion on how to get into the restaurant since the door next to it looked like a door to another store but it's the door to many stores inside! Love the decorations in the restaurant, and the owner greeted me with a smile! I was able to order a loco moco and a mini katsu with a side of spam masubi with and egg. Everything was scrumptious, the potato macaroni salad was a little too dill or celery heavy in taste for my liking but was still good. My favorite item out of all the food I got was the masubi, I used to hate spam and as I got older, I now have such a different appreciation for it. One other thing that doesn't relate to the food is while I was there, I watched the owner greet a customer who came in lookin for a job. He told the guy it was his lucky day and that he would hire him to start first thing in the morning! Love the support he is willing to give to the people in the community. We dined 2/4/23. The place was fairly crowded with only a few open tables. You order at the counter and then wait a very long time for food. The woman at the register was not very friendly and told us it would be about 20 min for our food. So we decided to order as we felt 20 min wait was tolerable. Two orders of chicken katsu with side salad and a loco moko and 3 fountain drinks. We placed the order at 12:41 and received our food at 1:35 pm! The chicken katsu came without the katsu sauce. When asked about it, the woman brought it to us but didn't apologize or anything. The chicken was decent but the rice was gummy and luke warm at best. The hamburger in the loco moko was rare on the inside. The macaroni salad worth the loco moko was tasty. Disappointed as we had high hopes given all the reviews. read more
