As an Emerald member with the oneworld alliance, I have always received complimentary seat selection on partner airlines. That changed with Royal Jordanian. I paid $140 for two seats that were clearly shown as a two seat row. When my wife and I boarded, we discovered the row actually had three seats. No one pays extra for a middle seat -- ever. My seat number was k6 and the seat has no cushion whatsoever, I had to stack pillows and blanket to prevent back pain Most incompetent company I've had to deal with. Called someone in Detroit to get information about the plane and flight, he gives me another number to call I believe it was in Chicago. I call that number, another person tells me we don't handle this, you have to call another number. Called that number, that person gave me the original Detroit number. I called Detroit back, another person answers and gives me the information I was asking to begin with. Not done yet. I finally check in and get on the plane, plane was gorgeous and flight attendants for most part were very hard working. Half the people on this flight were idiots, loud, arrogant, dirty and bathrooms even after a couple hours in flight were dirty, urine on the floor, clogged up sinks. Absolutely disgusting!!!! Like a fourth world country on a top of the line plane. I will never ever fly Royal Jordanian again!!!! Would rather pay twice as much and get to Amman in 3 days then fly this airline. I needed assistance and decided to call this business at 1-888-551-0145 .The response time was decent and the person on the line tried to help as much as possible. I had to be transferred once, but the second representative handled things better and gave me the correct information. It wasn't perfect, but it was still a workable experience. We were delayed from Philadelphia to Chicago due to "weather"; however, the weather was fine in both cities. This delay caused us to miss our connecting flight. We were stuck in Chicago overnight. We had the added expense of a hotel, rental car, food, and an additional day of parking at our final destination, not to mention having to take a day off of work. We were told we would not be compensated because it was due to weather, but again, there were no weather issues in either city for that time period. Completely unacceptable! Additionally, the person who rescheduled us (in Philadelphia) was very short with us to the point of being rude. I understand she was dealing with a lot and people were upset, including myself. That said, I went out of my way to be calm and understanding so as not to add to her stressful day. We have some very real responsibilities at home, including caring for my aged/disabled mother and my disabled sister in law with Down Syndrome. This left us scrambling to find additional care for both of them. We explained this to the person at the baggage counter and were met with a person who clearly could not care less about what we were going through. Anything other than her deadpan attitude and "NEXT" attitude would have gone a long way. read more

Love southwest to Houston but these new seat assignments and charges are ridiculous!! Picked for low fare, then had to pay for each seat $30 each ( 4x) for shit economy, and $45 a bag, plus taxes taxes taxes. Now it's higher than delta . Guess I'll stick with Delta!! 1 free bag and not all these seat charges . Deceptive and 5 hr layover to get to Detroit! Way to spend Memorial Day!! Go delta !! read more

I don't fly very often, which may be why this experience was particularly frustrating for me. I was scheduled to fly from Ontario (ONT) to San Jose (SJC) on a Southwest flight that was supposed to depart at 9:30 PM. Instead, the flight was delayed until around midnight, turning what should have been a simple evening trip home into a long and exhausting night at the airport. I fully understand that delays happen. Weather, maintenance issues, and operational problems are part of air travel. My disappointment was not simply that the flight was delayed, but how little information seemed to be available throughout the process. As passengers waited at the gate, there was a great deal of uncertainty about what was happening, how long the delay might last, and whether the departure time would continue to change. When people are traveling late at night, every additional hour matters. Many passengers were trying to arrange rides home, notify family members, or prepare for work the next morning. Sitting in an airport for hours without clear updates becomes increasingly frustrating as the night goes on. Even if the delay itself cannot be avoided, better communication would have made the experience much easier to accept. What disappointed me most was the feeling of uncertainty. It seemed like we were constantly waiting for the next update without having a clear understanding of the situation. A little more transparency regarding the cause of the delay and more frequent communication would have gone a long way toward improving the customer experience. By the time the flight finally departed, what should have been a routine trip between Southern California and the Bay Area had become a much longer ordeal than expected. Instead of arriving home at a reasonable hour, I arrived far later than planned and lost most of the night. To be fair, the gate agents and flight crew were courteous and professional. My criticism is not directed at the employees working the flight but at the overall handling of the delay and the communication provided to passengers. This was my return trip home after a reunion weekend in Southern California, and I was looking forward to a smooth flight back to San Jose. Unfortunately, the significant delay and lack of timely information made the experience disappointing. I hope Southwest takes passenger communication more seriously during major delays. Travelers understand that unexpected issues occur. What makes the difference is how those situations are managed and how well passengers are kept informed. Based on this experience, I will be paying closer attention to reliability and customer service when choosing flights in the future. read more

I do not like southwest. Our travel service with our company booked this flight form me and it just reminded me how much I dislike flying southwest! It is the cattle car of airlines... you board by number with no seat assignment and then select your seat when you get on. I always tend up with a middle seat. This time I did as well for my 4.5 hour flight. Yikes! On top of this there is nothing, no charging ports, no seat back entertainment, and no wifi! 4.5 hours of cramped quarters and zero distractions. All this did was remind me to never fly southwest again! read more

My Southwest flights in and out of Hartford were great. The gate agents were straight forward and efficient. They made sure we got where we needed to be on time. When we arrived there was some LOUD music playing which was I guess some kind of celebration for Southwest's birthday or Juneteenth or something? I don't know but my friend and I were cracking up. Had I been waiting for a flight that might have annoyed. E. But just passing through it was a hoot! Our stewardesses were super friendly as well. I asked for a couple extra snacks to share with my kids when I got home and she gave me a hand full. So sweet! Plan ahead though and get there EARLY! It can take quite a while to navigate through the airport. read more

Last minute causing a 8 hour delay on a domestic flight. The gate agent nor the phone customer service representative gave a damn. Rebooked me on a later flight when there were earlier flights available. I should've listened when I was told DO NOT book with this airline. Horrible experience. And was given zero reasons for the delay. Mind you my departure flight was supposed to be at 7:10 am!!! I purposely booked an early flight to avoid delays. This flight is taking double the time to drive. HORRIBLE!! read more

Missed my flight to Tucson, my fault I didn't realize they closed to gate 10 minutes earlier than what the ticket says. Okay it is what it is, we get a rental and drive from SD to Tucson. Gate attendant offered to rebook my flight to leave 9 hours later and go through Denver which makes no sense but said ****nothing**** about the fact that if we don't use their flight to go that they cancel the return flight as well which we planned to use. Upsetting to say the least. I do not recommend booking with southwest. read more

Luggage: No more two (2) free checked bags. Pay for any and all checked luggage now. Snacks/Drinks: free onion flavored pretzel twists, and free water, juice, coffee, soda, tea, etc. You can pay for alcoholic beverages. As of 09/08/2025, specifically on four (4) days out of the year, your FIRST alcoholic drink may be free (see attached photos from their menu). Wifi: Wifi was horrible and not working properly. Hope you have a better experience with it. Seating: no assigned seating with Southwest. It's a first come, first serve basis. Remember that! You can sit anywhere you want ONCE you enter the aircraft. Comfort: I was lucky because my flight was empty; there were many empty seats today 09/08/2025 as not many people were flying today. My seat was comfortable for me because I had no one next to me on either sides. My airplane ride was 2 hours away from my destination, no complaints there. Flight attendants: they just did their job per usual. I didn't pay them any mind and just wanted to get to my destination. Overall: My only complaint was being a loyal customer for many years, and they decided to change their two (2) free checked bags policy. Now I have to pay for every checked luggage. I get it, Southwest Airlines wants to make money like every other airline. Business per usual. Pick and choose your airline I guess. To each their own. I'll fly with whoever has the best deal from now own. No loyalty to any one airline going forward. Pick and choose your battles. read more

Their switch to assigned seating is a mess. Further they no longer have any advantage over other airlines. Their loyalty program no longer provides any benefits. If I don't pay for a seat, I get a middle seat and then there is no bin space so my bag is behind me so I have to wait to deplane. Switching to other airlines read more

I absolutely dread picking anyone up from Love Field on the Southwest flight because the traffic manager is extremely obnoxious and forceful and pushy, and absolutely needs to learn how to be friendly. Someone needs to teach them some manners. That would be employee at baggage claim security outside , June 2nd 1 PM. He needs to find a job he likes this is not it or they need to have better signage and he does not need to be so rude. He should be fired. Also, if you expect people to use the cell phone lot, it needs to be accessible from both ends and not a one-way hard to access miniature lot every time I come here it's the most unpleasant experience ever. Rating zero or minus one if that was an option. read more

Southwest Airlines has figured out the best way to board a plane! I like the boarding system and I never pay an extra fee for early bird check in. The process is smooth and am usually a 5 stars out of 5 with all the flights I take with them. The big perk is two checked bags fly free up to 50 lbs each. And you get to take one personal item and a carry-on bag on board free. They do serve a snack and a complimentary beverage. The flight attendants are attentive and have a sense of humor! Staff always makes an announcement that breaks tension and makes all the customers laugh! During holidays in ATL the boarding areas have decorations. And This time it was a Halloween theme. Glad I had my Halloween hat with me for a photo opportunity! read more

Horrible experience!!! Do not trust them with minors or elderly flying alone together. They attempted to extort my 11 year old son and 59 year old mother in law for an extra $270 less than 1 hour before the flight claiming that my sons ticket had a military discount on it because it was purchased with our account; despite us changing this a month ago on the phone for 2 hours and they acted like that was ok. My 11 year old son and 59 year old mother in law had to literally run to the gate with their bags because the rude ticketing agent did not want to call a supervisor until the last minute at which time we paid an extra $30 for something we already paid for because southwest is too lazy/ or does not care to check their recorded calls. read more

However, after my wife and I boarded the aircraft, we realized the seating layout differed from what had been displayed at purchase. Paying additional fees only to encounter an uncomfortable seating situation was disappointing. My assigned seat, *6K*, lacked adequate cushioning, making the journey more uncomfortable than expected. I relied on extra pillows and blankets for lower back support throughout much of the flight. On longer trips, seat comfort can make a significant difference in the overall passenger experience. The customer service process proved equally frustrating. I first contacted an agent in Detroit seeking clarification regarding my flight details and aircraft information. I was then transferred to another department, believed to be located in Chicago, where I was informed they could not assist and was given yet another number to call. That representative ultimately redirected me back to the original Detroit contact. Only after several calls and repeated explanations did an agent finally provide the information I had requested from the start. After boarding, I found the aircraft itself attractive and well-maintained, and most of the flight attendants appeared hardworking and professional despite managing a busy cabin. However, the overall environment deteriorated as the flight progressed. A number of passengers were noisy and inconsiderate, and the lavatories became increasingly untidy within a few hours, with wet floors and sinks requiring attention. Although the cabin crew deserved recognition for their efforts and professionalism, the inconsistent customer service, uncomfortable seating experience, and declining cleanliness ultimately overshadowed the positives. Based on this experience, I would strongly compare alternatives before booking JetBlue Airways for a similar trip in the Future.

I arrived at the airport early and went to the Delta help/customer service desk to ask if I could go on the standby list. The rep behind the counter informed me the standby list was full. The only way I could get on the flight was by paying $75 for a confirmed seat. So I declined and left the desk and proceeded to the gate where my scheduled flight was leaving from. About 20 minutes later, I hear the gate attendant asking for volunteers to move to a later flight for a flight credit for use on another flight. I guess corporate greed tops common sense and it just proves, Delta does not believe in putting their customer first! My colleague who was on that earlier flight told me there were still many empty seats on the plane.

While attempting to board the train, we observed an employee contacting 911 while simultaneously trying to communicate with a gentleman whom had fainted on the train. Although I was unable to obtain the employee's name, I think that she deserves a huge kudos for remaining calm during this situation and ensuring that the gentleman was able to safely exit the train and receive medical attention. With handheld technology being so prevalent in our world and nearly everyone owning cell phones/laptops/ gaming devices/headphones it is an 'all-out emergency' for airport goers to have electricity to recharge all of their entertainment amenities. At my last visit to Atlanta airport... it was nearly impossible for me to find a usable outlet. I literally had to move 4 times just to find a working 3-prong outlet. I then had to fabricate a way to ensure that my charging cable would remain in the outlet by building a tower of books, bags, and fast food containers. The outlets in the terminal benches weren't available because the benches weren't plugged into the floor outlets, either. Some may find this to be a privilege... it's definitely an important necessity for many. It's also the least ANY airport could do for its customers! One cannot say customers don't get charged enough (no pun intended,) to fly!

JetBlue states that you get one carry on, but you do not unless you are in groups A or B. This is a policy of deliberate lying to force you to buy more expensive seats.

I originally booked my flight from Atlanta to Hawaii through a third party, expecting a smooth journey. Unfortunately, what transpired was a nightmare. Upon arriving at the airport with more than enough time to check in, I was assigned a gate--EF0--that did not exist. The airport monitors were malfunctioning, and my flight was not displayed. I was given three different gate locations, two of which were not even operated by Alaska Airlines. Eventually, I was informed that the best way to find my gate was to search Google using my airline and flight number. After finally locating the correct gate, I realized it was in the complete opposite direction of where I had been previously directed. As I sprinted to the gate after receiving a call that my flight was boarding, I arrived only to be told that the gate had just closed--literally 60 seconds before. My flight was canceled as a result. When I spoke with an Alaska Airlines representative, they acknowledged that the airline was experiencing system issues that affected ticketing and gate assignments, impacting a total of 140 passengers. However, I was then told that because most passengers were able to find their gate, the airline would not recognize this as a system failure. Instead, I was blamed for missing my flight and informed that my only option was to pay over $1,000 to rebook my flight for the next day. In frustration, I ended up booking a separate flight through Delta for $900. The issues did not end there. After securing my new flight, I attempted to locate my checked bag. I spoke with multiple Alaska Airlines representatives, all of whom assured me that my luggage would arrive in Hawaii on my originally scheduled flight. However, upon landing, my bag was nowhere to be found. After further inquiries, I was told that my bag had been left in Seattle--where my connecting flight was--and that there was a possibility the wrong name had been attached to it. At this point, I was convinced that my belongings would be lost forever. No Alaska Airlines employee I spoke with provided reassurance or made any meaningful effort to resolve the situation. That was until I met Estelle C. at baggage claim. Despite her shift being nearly over, she dedicated almost two additional hours to locating my bag. She made countless phone calls to baggage claim departments, customer service, and other airlines. She even reached out to Delta in case they had any information. After a thorough investigation, she was able to track down a video of my bag, asked me to verify its details, and then personally ensured it was rerouted to the proper location as quickly as possible. Estelle kept me updated every step of the way. She provided me with exact details about the flight my bag was on, where it was leaving from, and its arrival time. Her diligence and genuine concern were the only bright spots in an otherwise horrendous experience. She even called me the next morning to remind me when my bag would arrive. When I arrived at the airport 30 minutes early to retrieve it, she was already there waiting for me. Because of Estelle's dedication, I was finally able to recover my belongings. I cannot thank her enough for her professionalism, persistence, and care. She is the type of employee who embodies excellent customer service, and I sincerely hope she is recognized for her efforts. While I deeply appreciate Estelle's help, my overall experience with Alaska Airlines was unacceptable. The system failures, misinformation, lack of accountability, and the financial burden I was forced to endure were completely avoidable. I am requesting a formal review of this situation, as well as reimbursement for the additional expenses I incurred due to Alaska Airlines' errors. People fighting for overhead bin space like it contained the last Xbox on Earth. The flight attendant handed me a Pringles can like it was rare contraband: "That'll be $11.50 and a small sacrifice." But listen -- they got me across the country for less than the price of an Uber Eats order, and the plane only shook twice, so honestly? Elite service. Would absolutely fly Frontier again against my better judgment.
