First time using their laundry service (dry cleaning) my King size comforter at this location…read more There is a small-ish parking lot infront of the place, but it's quite limited. Plenty of street parking infront of the shops down the street, though it is always busy and spots are always taken. The laundromat is nice and clean. Machine is clean and new. There are spots to sit and wait for your laundry, some arcade games, and they even sell slushies(?) and stuffs there if you need. For my comforter dry cleaning, it's a flat of $70+ (after tax). You drop it off and they'll tell you how long they'd need to get it done (5-6days). But you will get a text message when it's ready. I went to pick it up and decided to take a look right away. Glad I did, because it seems it wasn't cleaned right. The light-yellow ish stain from sweat wasn't even cleaned off. So i immediately showed it to the staff and they right away offered a second time dry clean for free. For this, I thought mistake/subpar quality was made but customer service to make up for it was acceptable. Would still give it another go at this location if I have anything to dry clean next time

It's very clean, safe and the machines are new. It is a bit pricier (no quarters needed, use your credit/debit card) but worth the price. Also, free ice cream and there is also a little arcade area to waste time while waiting for your clothes. Don't have the time or desire to do laundry? They also offer one day fluff and fold!

I rarely use laundromats. My townhouse has a perfectly fine washer/dryer stack, but when I have…read morehouseguests and have to clean a lot of sheets and comforters, I have to seek out a laundromat. West Seattle laundry definitely fits the bill. THE ROSES: Off-street parking behind the laundromat is very handy, unless you come at a peak period, it's easy to find a close in spot and not have to hump your wash a long distance. Very good selection of machines, including large (3x a regular load), and a few truly ginormous (5x a regular load) for tackling comforters. Lots of large-capacity dryers that do a very good job drying blankets, towels, etc. The staff does a good job keeping the place up. The two times I used it this week I noted very few machines out of order, and the facility was clean. I am particularly fond of their use of app-based methods to pay for your wash (PayRange). No need to scrounge quarters to run the wash; just use the app and you're good to go! THE THORNS: Occasionally you see sketchy people in the area, and sometimes they use the laundry. On my second visit some strange dude came over and tried to make conversation, then shared he *just happened* to forget to bring his laundry soap, so could I spare some money so he could buy some from the dispenser? Fortunately I was almost done, so I could just brush him off and leave. It would be nice if the management could do a better job of keeping the riff-raff out, but to be fair, this is better than most pubic laundromats I've been to. THE VERDICT: When you have a LOT of laundry to do, or need to clean bulky items, West Seattle Laundry can be your 'go-to' place! Recommend.

Cheap washers?!? What's not to like?…read more I came to this location at the recommendation of a thread I posted on an online forum looking for cheap laundry services. I'm particular about the way I wash my clothes & quite honestly prefer to handwash them; that way, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am washing them how I feel is correct. So when I posted in the forum asking for a place I could go & wash my laundry "for the items that are too big to hand wash", West Seattle Laundrette immediately jumped off the page due to its weekly promotion for cheap washers. The largest caveat here is the staff or locals aren't overly thrilled about having newcomers coming to what they feel is their section of Seattle. I've now gone to that location twice as of today & honestly don't forsee myself returning. The first time I visited this location on July 8th, I came with open expectations as to what to expect. I travelled via public transit with my laundry in a nearly 2-hour round trip & was immediately met by some elderly Anglo-Saxon woman complaining about people being overly aggressive & how the person was insinuating that she was stealing their laundry. Her reasoning for not being the prime suspect was due to her age & race, stating, "Your clothes aren't my style." All well & good despite the fact the story allegedly stemmed from several weeks earlier & she kept making awkward eye contact with me while gossiping with another patron. Easily remedied. I put a pair of headphones on & tried my hardest not to communicate with anyone at the location. I brought everything I needed to complete my task to quarters, so I didn't see a need to engage in small talk. Today being the 2nd time, despite how off the vibe was 2 weeks ago, I returned. This time to find the entire location having its washers occupied. Bizarre, but perfectly plausible. Again, the largest caveat here is that there were only 2 people inside of the facility. Judging by the 1st visit, the insinuation is pretty clear. "You're" not welcome. I'm guessing the thought process here is "they" can sit around & wait for drugs all day; "they" can sit & wait for "us" to finish using the washing machines. Never mind the fact I don't drink or use alcohol, but these days anyone with any sort of complexion is immediately profiled. Sad but true. If you've got money, I'd suggest going somewhere else. If you don't have money, I'd suggest looking for somewhere else.
