Marion Dry Cleaners is the first place that I ended up finding when moving to the International District. When I became a flight attendant, I wasn't sure exactly where I was going to take my clothes when they got to a point that they needed to be completely refreshed. After going there, I realized that other flight attendants also went there. The service is fantastic and the owner or gentleman working is super friendly and always on time, making sure that your order is given when he says it will be. Horrible experience here. Owner said he would call me back at 12 with a price estimate after dropping them off at 9am. 4pm came around and never heard anything so I called. He was very short and rude saying he was busy with other things. He then gave an estimate, and then said it would be ready 3 days later than what he originally said in the store. We ended up calling again to ask if he could make sure that the items did not shrink as they were couch covers. He basically said he couldn't confirm that completely (which I understand), but was very short and gave us 0 reassurance. It did not seem like he would even try. Therefore, we looked around and found another place due to our poor experience. When I called to say we no longer needed his service, he said we had to pick the items up that day. I was working in the office and was not going to be able to make it in time. He then charged us a 10% service fee to pick them up the next day. When we picked them up, he was still extremely rude. We let him know that part of our reason behind choosing somewhere else was his poor customer service. He responds but just saying "oh really? Well you have the right to look elsewhere." No apologies for his behavior. Do not go here. read more

Great service. Brought in 4 suit jackets - 3 for dry cleaning and one for repair. The suit jackets were returned - looked amazing! No strange chemical smell and all within my needed time frame. After several disappointing experiences recently I quit all dry cleaning! It's refreshing to take items in so they look new again instead of my home methods. read more

Friendly customer service. You can tell they really care about getting your clothes cleaned properly. They checked carefully for plastic or other materials that don't dry clean well, and helped me fold my things for transport so they wouldn't wrinkle. read more

Then when I asked for my pants backs after seeing that he charges $53 for tapering pants he threw my pants back at me in frustration. Terrible service and over priced. This is the worst dry cleaning experience I have ever had. They stained a brand new dress, and when I approached the manager about it, he was incredibly rude and said there was nothing they were willing to do. I bought a brand new dress into Marion to have it cleaned. I had purchased the dress only three days before, for more money than I'd like to admit. Therefore I didn't even attempt cleaning it myself and took it straight to the cleaners. I paid extra to have it cleaned quickly because I was leaving on a flight the next day. Upon wearing it out for the first time since cleaning, I realized there were several large white stains all along the front of the dress - clearly where cleaning product had been used to remove spots. I quickly took the dress back into the shop and the man working told me that he did in fact see the stains I was referring to and would have to talk to his manager. He took my phone number and a copy of my receipt for the new dress and told me to wait for the call. Four days go by and I hear nothing. So I call Marion and speak to the manager. After a long conversation where I calmly explain the situation I'm in, he offers no customer service whatsoever and tells me there is nothing they can do. They ruined a brand new dress of mine that had only been worn once and took no responsibility for damaging the product I trusted them to clean. read more

Oh my god! The guys there I don't know if he is the owner or just runs the shop but he needs to learn two things first in customer service, first to smile and next MANNERS to talk me to a customer. I went there three weeks ago and asked me dry clean my two winter coats and asked him if he can do it within three days since I was in hurry and I had a flight to catch after three days. Again I asked him 'only if he can do it' to which he said yes he can do it and I can take my coats on Tuesday's evening. I also asked him at what time he closes so that I can try to come sooner. He said ' I won't close the shop until you take your shop.' So on Tuesday evening he called to pick me the coats. I went there, he with a stupid rude face gave me my clothes and said 'I HAD TO WORK OVERTIME FOR THIS AND NEXT TIME WHEN YOU ARE IN HURRY FIND ANOTHER DRY CLEANER'. That just shocked me to my core as if he was forced to do my work without paying for it. He charged me $45 for two coats , with his Will and that's how that rude, mannerless, egoistic , lazy man treated me. All I want to say is don't go to this shop, if you wanna pay to get your work done then go to the shop where you are treated with respect and with smile. If he doesn't wanna work and make their customer experience hell then he doesn't deserve to be in customer industry. I had a flight to catch next morning and omg!! It just made me cry. I felt like I let this person insult me for something I paid for, for something he agreed to do willingly. Do not go to this shop. Please don't ruin your day, compromise your respect and pay this person for his grumpy, frowned face. read more

Three stars because I have showed up 2 different times during normal business hours and the store has not been open. After recently asking a question regarding an alteration, the guy got visibly upset, aggressive and rude. Unfortunately after reading the reviews looks like its a trend. I won't be going back. I went back and forth on giving it a 5 star and honestly the only downside to it is there is no parking available. It makes it inconvenient especially when the processor drop off and pick up barely takes 5 minutes but you have to spend more time looking for street parking. I am a newbie to dry cleaning and I can say I am impressed. The guy goes over your clothes to point out harder to clean and finer materials so you know what to expect. He was realistic about how quickly he can complete the job so you know when to expect it. Decent rate. read more

I've been coming here for almost 3 years. The owner and family are always very helpful and they have decent prices with quick pickup times. I have been using Marion Dry Cleaners for almost four years now. It's right by my apartment, they are open outside of the usual 9-5 workday, and the owner is incredibly nice. The prices are reasonable, too. They have done everything from sewing up holes in my shirt to getting really tough stains out. He altered a really expensive dress of mine once and it came out PERFECTLY. I wear suits and blouses in my professional life quite often, so I always have something to dry clean and I always go to this place. Everything they do is high in quality. I love picking up my clothes from them because everything I pick up always smells nice and looks great. They are seriously the biggest thing I will miss if I ever move out of this neighborhood. read more

I actually look forward to my dry cleaning errand- the owner is incredibly kind and pays attention to detail- he catches snags, stains, etc. and can fix them. The prices are affordable and cheaper than most dry cleaners in the area. There is a 30 minute loading zone across the street that is usually available and it makes it easy to stop by on my way home from work. read more

I get my stuff cleaned here frequently. Very friendly service and my clothes always come out looking and feeling great. I'm always a bit curious of their hours though they don't seem to be too well defined. They usually seem to be open in the mornings before work and for a few hours after so I guess I shouldn't bitch too much. Excellent value as the prices seem super reasonable, you can get a butt-load of shirts and a suit cleaned for under 25 bucks. read more

I have been taking my dry cleaning to Marion for the past two years and have nothing but good things to say. I am very particular about my clothes and I like them to be paid attention to. The owner from Day 1 listened to me, took notes (2-ways the multi-colored scotch tapes and the labels that read dry cleaning, cold or gentle wash etc.) on the clothes and on my tickets. Any time I expressed concern, the issue was addressed and solved. Once he noticed that my sleeve's button was broken so he re-sawed it back for me no charge! At Christmas-time I got a lint roller as a gift. And last but certainly not least it is timely service! My clothes have always been ready when promised! I recently moved to Capitol Hill and decided to try these guys out. One of my shirts came back with a large bleach stain and they refused to accept responsibility, instead just staring blankly at me and eventually offering $10 in store credit (which I will obviously not be back to use). I've been using this place for over a year and a half, and absolutely love them. I usually pick up my garments a week after when they say it's going to be done, so I can't tell you if they are prompt. But I have never had any problems with them messing up/losing my clothes, and my clothing always get back to me like new. The only complaints that I have are: 1) They are a bit pricey, 2) Except for a loading zone across the street, finding parking around there is awful, and 3) Despite being as awesome as I am, the owner has not yet remembered my name. Marion Cleaners provides excellent service for both dry cleaning and laundry--we have been using them since we moved to the neighborhood 2 years ago. They are very conscientious and always friendly. We have found their alterations services to be reliable and reasonable. All cleaning is getting more expensive as we demand eco-friendly materials to be used, but Marion Cleaners remains affordable in terms of getting good results for the price charged. I think it will be a neighborhood institution as time goes by. read more
