We were very happy with each phase of our first day with this company. They set us up with their 1st available appointment that was over a month out, but put us on a call earlier list if there is a cancellation. This was great for us, because as retirees we could be available at a days notice. Both of us got calls to come in earlier than our scheduled appointments. Front desk staff were very efficient at processing Maggie & I as 1st time patients. The dental team makes the 1st appointment 2hrs long to do a very thorough exam. They want your input to get your level of involvement in the dental care process. The equipment they have is top of the industry standard. It gives the patient a good view of dental issues, allowing a more knowledgeable choice by patient & Dentist. We never felt pressured to additional care that wasn't truly required at the present time. We were given a break down priority list of items needed & told they would work with us on payment steps based on the priority list. Even given discounts on how payments can be made. I see them on Monday for 1st step in fixing some of my issues. We highly recommend this Dental Care Family

While I was already frustrated by being charged at every consecutive visit, I asked the front desk staff member, Cole, for a clear explanation of the billing. He gave me a completely cold reception. While we were trying to resolve a payment issue due to an expired card, I called their office line to find an alternative way to pay. While explaining to the phone representative that the front desk wasn't explaining the charges clearly, Cole interrupted and defensively snapped that he had already explained it. It was incredibly rude and unprofessional. While we both may have been having a stressful day, his customer service was completely unacceptable. Hoping to resolve the situation, I tried to schedule an appointment with the manager last Thursday to explain what happened. I was promised a callback from management that never came. Instead, when I arrived for my scheduled appointment the following week, I was told they had canceled my appointment and would no longer service me. While I respect that businesses have their own policies and I have no desire to return, their complete lack of communication and failure to address a customer service issue is deeply disappointing. My advice to anyone visiting this clinic: If you are having a stressful day, need billing clarity, or simply have questions about where your money is going--do not ask. If you question them or ask too many questions, expect to be dropped as a patient

I waited for my new dental visit at another office before I posted this review…read more In my opinion there is something shady about RRMD. Here are three reasons why. 1. The dental hygienist at RRMD diagnosed me with periodontal disease and said I would need "extra treatment" my insurance paid $160 and I paid $40 out-of-pocket for the "extra treatment" ** The hygienist at my new dentist said "It's a good thing you came in because your teeth really need to be cleaned" She did NOT diagnose me with periodontal disease. I never mentioned that my teeth had been cleaned at RRMD on April 7th. I guess the "extra treatment" wasn't effective. 2. Dr. Leeper refused to take off the bone graft replacement from my estimate. I was told by front desk staff that Dr. Leeper told her "it doesn't look like the same kind of bone graft that we use" and that they would have to wait until they "got in there" to see if it needed replaced. That's when I canceled my surgery. On the estimate they gave me, the bone graft replacement was $5,624.00!!! ** I asked my new dentist if bone grafts ever needed to be replaced. She said "Nope, the metal post can be drilled into any bone graft" 3. In my opinion, the front desk staff needs to be trained better on insurance and billing. My husband called RRMD regarding our refund because nobody from the office had reached out to us after several weeks. The front desk person told him that the refund was almost $200 less than our estimate from our EOB's. My husband had to physically go down to the office and go through our EOB's with the office manager. The office manager had to explain to the front desk person what she had missed. It was found in our favor and we were refunded the correct amount. I truly believe that if we hadn't been paying attention, we would not have received our full refund. 4. Lack of communication. Every email, message on my chart/smile generation and every phone message I left was unanswered. I was the one who had to reach out to them. Nobody ever communicated back. If you do choose to go to this office, my advice would be... If something doesn't seem right, get a second opinion. Know your insurance benefits. Get a detailed receipt and compare it to your EOB's.

The tooth in question was closest to my ear. Apparently had a large cavity upon which Tran decided to replace with a filling. He came at me with no topical and a needle to my upper palate which hurt! I told him I had never had an upper palatal shot before upon which he assured me I had. I was going to the same dentist for 15 years until he retired and I knew every shot I was given and for what. Then he proceeded to give me the fastest filling I ever had declaring he had an emergency enroute. Prior to this he wanted to know why I had checked depression on my health chart. When I told him it was due to sudden death of my husband he laughed! I went home with a filling that began to throb. I called the next day. He was out of town. Within the next three days I began to hear a hissing in my ear on side of the tooth. He offered to replace the filling as I mentioned a persistent ringing in my ear he blew it off. I ended up with a case of tinnitus since and two trips to ENTs. I ended up back at my dentists who told me the tooth should have been root canaled or extracted. It is too coincidental that I now live with persistent tinnitus. I feel nerve damage was done during procedure. Did not care for this man in his so called talent or chair side manner. I'm angry at myself for not leaving the office right then after he laughed at loss of my spouse.

They wanted to charge $5000. 2nd dentist, I got a second opinion. They are usually my primary dentist, but they stopped taking my insurance. I had them look at the five teeth the 1st dentist said I needed crowns on. 2nd Dentist said that the were just level two cavities and I didn't need crowns. I paid out-of-pocket for this dentist to fill them. I had to go back to the Sonrisa to get the teeth filled that were covered by insurance. He was so pissed that I already got the other teeth done. He was such in a rush and so mad the whole time filling my teeth because of it. He also gave me a speech at the end saying that he doesn't like people to go back back-and-forth to other dentists and not to come back until they finished all the work they're doing. Are you kidding me I am never going back! He's just mad because I got a second opinion and they fixed my teeth, and it didn't cost $5000. Do you research, because so many dentist offices are such a scam. Also, when you go get a second opinion. You are allowed to ask for copies of your x-rays and take it to the other dentist office. A lot of people don't know you could do this. This will save you money!

He major explains what he is doing, had no pain from the procedure. My tooth had a crack, I need a root canal and a crown, I am sitting here 5 hours and 40 minutes after the procedure he did with NO PAIN during him cleaning out my tooth and right now. NO PAIN. This is why all of his reviews say he is THE best dentist here in Albuquerque. My wife is looking for a dentist cause we just moved, and I am sending her to Dr. Allman.
