However the ultrasound doctor strongly advised to give birth at a hospital. At the time we didn't understand why or the urge to sway us away from the birthing center. When we told the midwive she immediately tried getting rid of me as a patient. I had to call around different doctor offices trying to be seen at 39 weeks which was impossible to get an appointment. My husband finally bugged the midwife enough for her to tell me to "go to a hospital, lie about having contractions" that she would make a call and have some random doctor that I've never met claim me as his patient for me to be admitted. We were left with no doctor, no help, no answers, told to lie to medical staff. It was completely stressful. No medical facility should ever treat someone like this ! Especially someone who is pregnant . It turns out that OUR midwive was responsible for the death of a baby during labor. 3 months prior to my delivery. Along with a list of previous medical misconduct. In the end we lucked out with a healthy baby, but literally shame on all of you. You all knew what was going on and you guys could have stepped in and provided the necessary care. https://mediaassets.abc15.com/html/embeds/Midwives%20database/Karin%20Braun.pdf KARIN BRAUN I HOPE YOU NEVER GET YOUR LICENSE BACK!!

Not only is she emotionally attentive but she is extremely well educated and informative. I instantly felt comfortable with Trine when I entered her office, it was very welcoming and inclusive. Her energy is beautiful and safe as well. I trust her whole heartedly with my postpartum breastfeeding care plan and I've already seen such a difference after my first visit. I plan continuing my care with Trine throughout my breastfeeding journey. I appreciated that she also had incredible advice on supplements to take for my PCOS and swelling post c section that were followed up with sources backed by research. Do yourself a favor and book with Trine. She genuinely cares about parents and their babies and I would recommend her to anyone who needs advice and support as they begin breastfeeding. My first appointment was while I was still pregnant and I highly recommend a consult with her before baby arrives. She helped me with choosing a pump and gave me great information to get started. A 10-Star Experience with Michet & Cherry Blossom Doulas…read more There are truly not enough stars to capture the level of care, support, and excellence I experienced with Michet and Cherry Blossom Doulas. From pregnancy through the birth of my son, Michet was nothing short of exceptional. From the very beginning, Cherry Blossom Doulas did an incredible job matching me with the perfect doula. As a first-time mom, that alignment meant everything--and they absolutely got it right. The classes they provided were thorough, informative, and empowering. They gave both my husband and me the confidence and foundational knowledge we needed going into this new chapter. Michet herself was a true gift. She provided unlimited resources and an abundance of information that helped us feel educated, prepared, and supported every step of the way. She took the time to walk us through all of our options, thoughtfully explaining what different labor scenarios could look like--while also grounding us in the reality that birth is unpredictable and can shift at any moment. That balance of preparation and honesty was invaluable. What stood out most was how deeply supported I felt. Michet created a space where I felt safe, cared for, and completely at ease. Her presence alone brought a sense of calm and reassurance that every expecting mother deserves. She went above and beyond in ways that truly made this experience unforgettable. From teaching my husband and I partner stretches to prepare for labor, to ensuring he also felt confident and included in the process--she supported us both wholeheartedly. Her care extended beyond the basics, offering beautiful, meaningful extras like labor photography that captured one of the most sacred moments of our lives, and even providing placenta encapsulation services. Michet's energy is soft, nurturing, and incredibly grounding. She checked in with me consistently throughout my pregnancy, always making me feel seen, heard, and prioritized. It never felt transactional--it felt deeply personal. I can wholeheartedly say that having Michet by my side was one of the best decisions I made during my pregnancy journey. She didn't just do her job--she exceeded every expectation and poured genuine care into every interaction. I am beyond grateful and would recommend her, and Cherry Blossom Doulas, to any expecting mother who desires a supported, informed, and beautifully guided birth experience.

My labor was long and intense, many hours of unmedicated labor and when we faced a sudden pivot to a C-section due to our baby's position, Amy was our anchor. She walked us through every single step, making sure I still felt informed and in control during a situation where control felt lost. What I appreciate most was her deep empathy, she sat with me and gave me the space to grieve the change in my birth plan and be scared. She didn't rush me past those feelings. When my husband wasn't allowed in the prep room, Amy was right there by my side. In the scariest moments, she held my hand, answered every question, and kept me grounded. Her calm energy is unmatched, and at times it honestly felt like she could read my mind. That wasn't just luck. This was because of how thoroughly she prepared with us beforehand. She took the time to truly learn how I process pain and what I need in high-pressure situations. She was just as important for my husband as she was for me, offering him constant reassurance. When our baby was born, he was able to leave my side to follow our baby with complete ease, knowing I wasn't alone and that Amy was taking care of me. Amy is extraordinary at what she does. If you are looking for a doula who is fiercely supportive, deeply prepared, and intuitive, hire Amy immediately.

Not too long into our journey as first time parents did we realize we were not enjoying a single second with our newborn, and instead we were pacing the house for endless hours with a screaming/crying baby. I knew something had to be done because my husband and I were at the brink of insanity (not sleeping for two weeks will do that to you). After much research, I found Desiree, and I have never looked back. I have told Desiree countless times she is worth her weight in cool. Prior to hiring Desiree, we had a baby that would not sleep in her bassinet, would only nap if someone was holding her, and wouldn't really eat. I quite literally coined our baby as the "gassiest, most fussy baby," and I remember Desiree telling me, "No you don't, don't worry I got you." She explained her training program and how things would be done and we fully trusted her and her expertise. Within a few days, we already noticed a difference. Our baby was now napping in her bassinet, was eating, smiling, and RARELY crying. Fast forward a few weeks, our baby is fully sleeping through the night, from 7 pm to 7 am. My husband and I can actually have time together to have dinner and watch a show after she goes down, and it has been the best thing for our marriage. At every corner we turned, Desiree was there. Any time I needed her or expressed any sort of concern, she was there to talk me through it and guide us on what worked best for our baby. She is an absolutely incredible human being and we already know we will use her for our next baby. Since we had such a good experience, we decided to hire Desiree for a year so she can be there throughout the different milestones and guide us on what needs to be done. If you are reading this at 3 am and sleep deprived, I promise Desiree is the portal to you finally enjoying your baby. We are forever grateful.

Our baby is happy, healthy and well rested! Thank you Desiree.

What about your wife asking for EMS when a call should have happened 14 mins prior? Gas lit and told it was only a minute or two. Thank GOD for EMS records! TIME IS BRAIN. Emergence isn't qualified for EMERGENCY. My family travailed the tension of life and death in our story, and while satisfactory, and normal physiologic experiences are great, hearing how licensed medical professionals handle dire, forlorn clinical scenarios is of utmost importance in precisely displaying a facet of skill and level of care that literally cannot be displayed at any other time, other than conjuncture. Making my testimony especially meaningful. If you had no complications, you can't speak to the things I can, because quite frankly both my baby and wife faced life endangering encounters and the assumed ability to manage such was sorely lacking, from not 1 but 2 tenured midwives who attended my wife's delivery. You could statistically bank on the likelihood of a normal birth and be fine BUT when it's not fine, it is catastrophically and preventably not fine. Survival bias is real. CPM midwife Caitlyn has 13 violations with the state regarding this birth, and may have license revocation later this year. Look up AZ care check to follow objective details. CNM owner Nancy has an open investigation with her board as well. She has spoken publicly on other midwives "deficiencies" and failure to uphold scope and statutes - and ironically has violated the same statutes she condemned others for while functioning like she wasn't also accountable to Arizona rules and regulations. Do your wife and your baby a LIFE SAVING favor and get someone who knows how to use a FREAKING AMBU-BAG.

I wanted someone who could help me understand my options, prepare for labor, and provide support beyond what I expected from my medical team. Hiring a doula gave me the reassurance that I wouldn't have to navigate the experience alone. Knowing Michelle would be there to guide, educate, and encourage me made me feel much more confident and prepared going into my first birth. After that, having a doula, for me, was a non-negotiable. Michelle has been by my side for the births of all three of my children, and I can't imaging a birth without her. Each experience was so unique and different, but her support, knowledge, and encouragement were invaluable every single time. I wanted unmedicated births, and Michelle gave me the confidence, preparation, and tools I needed to achieve that goal. During labor, she knew exactly how to support me physically and emotionally, helping me stay focused and calm through some of the most challenging moments. When I doubted myself, she reminded me of my strength and helped me trust my body. What sets Michelle apart is that she doesn't just show up on the day of your birth. She invests in her clients, provides evidence-based information, answers questions, and helps you feel empowered to make decisions that are right for you and your family. Her presence brought a sense of peace and confidence that benefited not only me, but also my husband. She helped my husband understand my needs and how to be a source of strength. She guided him through ways to encourage and comfort me during labor, which allowed us to work together as a team and made the experience even more positive. Because of Michelle's support, I look back on all three of my birth experiences with gratitude and pride. If you're considering hiring a doula, I wholeheartedly recommend the Modern Momma team; they are compassionate, knowledgeable, professional, and truly passionate about helping mothers have positive and empowering birth experiences.

She is clearly knowledgeable and experienced, and I am thankful for the role she played in my birth. During transition and pushing, she offered guidance and support that was helpful in those intense final hours. I do believe she understands birth well and brings expertise to the room. That said, there were a few things that did not sit right with me. At multiple points during contractions, when I looked up, she was visibly on Facebook and Instagram. I understand that long labors can involve downtime, but she was only physically present at the hospital for a few hours during transition and pushing. Given the relatively short window of in person support, it felt disappointing and inappropriate that she was on social media during that time. It made me feel like she was not fully present in such a vulnerable moment. There were also moments where her reactions felt disproportionate, such as when the toilet water unexpectedly splashed up. Her response heightened the situation rather than helping me feel grounded and calm. In addition, I found the overall value of the package to be underwhelming compared to other doulas I interviewed. Many offered formal childbirth classes (which were extra through MM) and ongoing support groups as part of their services, whereas Modern Mama primarily offered monthly mini classes on rotating topics, which did not always feel directly relevant or comprehensive. For the investment, I had expected more structured education and support. Though I was appreciative of the nice photos that were included. I am grateful for her knowledge and the role she played in helping bring my baby into the world, but I do wish the level of presence, professionalism, and overall value had been stronger throughout the experience. I likely won't hire Modern Mama again although I don't have experience with the other doulas.
