We had a weird experience that is hopefully not the norm. We were looking at a 2019 Ford Edge and reached out to the dealership, letting them know we would be flying down from Montana if we decided to buy the vehicle. They didn't require a deposit to hold it, just said they can run the financing check for pre approval and then hold the car. Fine, yep, no big deal. We asked if we could have the Ford dealership across the street for a 139 pt inspection on it (most of my gripe is with them on this deal). Southwest said absolutely, no problem, drove it over for us, we got the report from Ford and said it would Need new tires eventually and had a few "wear and tear scratches". Husband calls the technician to verify the "scratches" that had failed the inspection and was assured it was just "normal wear and tear". We fly down to Denver, drove to Pueblo only to see that not only did the car have visible damage, but one panel the damage included a dent. The Ford technician had passed the "Dents" portion with no notes. The sales person was apologetic and asked if we couldn't see those in the listing photos. My husband pulled up the listing photos on his laptop and there was absolutely no way we would have seen them from the photos (hence why we took it to Ford! F*ckers). The manager came out and told us he couldn't go much lower on the car but could take $500 off OR offer to show us other cars on the lot. I'm good. Thanks. Whole thing felt dishonest. Takeaway, do a thorough body check and maybe ask for a FaceTime video or something to look at the body of the car before traveling to look at one. Alpine Ford will get my next review after screwing me out of $320 for a sh*t "inspection". Note- the car is back listed on their website and the SAME pictures are on the website. Worst experience ever, went in to look at a vehicle for our youngest and met with our sales guy Silas, and he was a stud, showed us what we wanted to look at, drove some vehicles kicked some tires and found the right car for him. Explained he worked swing shifts but he showed interest in a jeep they had and we came down to do the research it for him. Found the one he liked we agreed and shook hands and scheduled an appointment for 10am the next morning to bring in Jr and finalize paperwork. Asked what documents he needed to bring so we were prepared as he would have to be in and out by noon. Got home recieved the text confirmation and calendar invite. All good so far, service we would expect as a returning customer. Next morning Silas text at 9 just to confirm we were still on, I confirmed and asked him to wash it as it had just came in and hadn't been detailed and for Junior's fist car it would be cool, and he replied washing it now and will have it up front. We got there at 10 and the vehicle that was washed and scheduled for us was out on a test drive, and as we sat and waited it became apparent and then it started to be an awkward visit, but our sales guy said he talked to manager and as soon as they returned they'd get the keys back in our hands and we could wrap up, complete our purchase and our son would still get to work on time. Said no worries told Jr to hang tight as now we had been there for an hour we were going to run and get gas and hit car wash and be right back in case of more delays so we had another vehicle ready to get him to work. We left for 15 minutes and when we walked back in our son said they sold the car! But they were going to look for another one. I was like what? Unbelievable !!! We shook hands, we had texts and calendar invites and when we got there they sold the car we were coming in to buy to someone else. SMH very unimpressive leadership to let that happen. I feel bad for our son and for our sales guy. I know our sales guy Silas was fighting for us, so how did they keys get into some other parties hand when we had an appointment? I tried to post the whole story but apparently it was too long to be able to which is depressing because I would love everyone to read how I was treated. Please send me your emails and I can send you the full story about going to the courthouse, being told to leave the premises of Southwest Motors just for saying the word "Lawyer" to him, but long story short I went into Southwest Motors to buy a car for my mother for her job as a caregiver in California and it was not a good transaction. From January 14th to late February we went without a car because of this whole situation. We went in Southwest Motors with $10,000 I delt with Ryan Quintana on January 7th and after making a sale on a dodge journey he was not willing to try to fix the problem of selling me a car that later we found to be in bad shape and that leaks water from about 8 different locations inside the car. (I do have pics and videos) I lost $5,000 due to them only wanting to do a trade in for the car I bought from him only six days prior and not just even trying to get the entire transaction canceled and fix the situation properly with the Dodge. I still wanted a reliable car for my mom so we were still wanting to buy something that would work for her. I even tried to come up with an option like keep 2 grand put the other 8 grand on the car and I'll pay the rest but then I had to finance the Ford Ecosport and the finance charge was $7,250+ which took away the remaining $5,000 from the Dodge so now I am negative $10,000 and have a Ford Ecosport with an extra $2,500 finance charge bringing the total owing on the car as $13,468.59 and leaving me with a monthly payment of $288. When all we wanted was no payments or a small one. The Ecosport also had a recall that we were told by Alpine Ford was a 2 week job to complete because the whole motor needed to come out and be inspected and the burnt parts needed to be replaced and also the turbo had a crack in it (I have the paperwork for that also) when I was told by Ryan that all it needed was the crack on the front bumper fixed and paint to match which was not the case. Instead of trying to help me get into a rental or a loner car he was messaging and calling myself and my mom that the Ford will get "Repo'd" and I would lose the "great" trade in value for the Dodge (I have snapshots of those messages to me and my mom) and he went to my house and the mother of my kids house looking for me trying to get the title for the Dodge even when he knew I wasn't even in town and the car he sold me was at Ford being fixed. After I received the car back from Ford I made a detail appt when Ryan had his day off so I didn't have to deal with him and Colten and Eric were great enough to still do the promised detail on the car to my mom's standards on March 2nd. I thank you for that. I'd love to talk to someone and get this resolved. You guys should have my number to call and email please get back to me on your convenience and a reasonable time. 2018 Nissan Kicks - Talking through text/call was amazing and whoever they have running that end of things is great. Larry is the guy I ended up going through with my car. I live a while away and work overnights, so I asked that the paperwork be ready ahead of time. I didn't need a test drive, didn't need anything added, just wanted to go over paperwork, sign, and be on my way -- Pressured into a test drive and waited 40 minutes for any papers. Before, I owned an old Altima, so the CVTs were newer to me. Asked if the transmission fluid had been checked/changed, and he told me that that didn't need to be done and it was perfectly fine. I asked again, saying that Nissan themselves recommends a MAX of 60,000mi before it NEEDS to be checked, and Larry assured me that that wasn't true, and he'd never heard of that before. FINALLY got an appointment through my local mechanic who said a fluid change was loooong overdue. I've since driven less than 2,000 miles as I live in a small town, so there's absolutely no way it got that bad from my handling. I also called a week after I bought the car about a faulty front driver's side actuator that prevents me from being able to power lock the car, to which I was left on hold for 40 minutes until the phone hung up. I tried calling back, and my line was sent almost immediately to voicemail. Overall, PLEASE do extensive research (obviously) into the car you're getting, as apparently you may very well get the short end of the stick. I'm lucky I knew what I did so I was shelling out 700$ for an actuator and fluid over a whole new transmission and a stolen vehicle. So can you blame me for not understanding why, when I wrote to tell him that a few weeks after I bought my Nissan Rogue from Southwest, an $85 oil change ended up costing $1100, he never responded? They attempted to fix it after owning the car for 3 days and wherever they took it did a complete crap job. My daughter purchased a car two months ago for $20k cash. All of a sudden, a bunch of warning lights came on in her vehicle all at once for Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Air Bags and Break System. The car only has 29k miles and should not be having all these issues. They claim it's outside of the 30-day/1k mile warranty - how convenient. When talking to the salesman, he said that even he had to buy a new Turbo for his truck after it went out after 45 days... sounds like it's normal for them to be selling problematic vehicles. We purchased TWO vehicles on the same day. Both vehicles had under 40,000 miles and neither made it long enough to register before going into the mechanic for MAJOR repairs. One of them didn't make it through the first weekend. They offered to fix that car. However, their Band-Aid patch job didn't even last one month before we had to take it back into the shop for more electrical issues. My daughter's car had actual parts FALLING OFF of it. We are into these cars for thousands of dollars in mechanic bills and have only owned them for three months. I purchased multiple cars from this dealer never had an issue. This past Monday 11/28 I purchased what was supposed to be a 2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD PRO. They had this listed on their website as well as on the vehicle. After I purchased this vehicle, I signed up for the app through Toyota to monitor my truck. When I entered the vin and it showed that the truck was a 2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD OFFRoad. This was not the vehicle they were advertising nor the vehicle I was informed I was purchasing. I brought it to the managers attention that they were two different packages and there was a price difference of $8000 on any car site. They had theirs priced at 45,998 PRO which was reasonable. But not as a OFFRoad which are priced around 38k-42k. I felt that I was lied to and when I brought it to managers attention they offering me $1000 or they will take the truck back. They were not willing to work with me at all, I indeed liked the truck and was willing to keep it at the price it should have been posted at, and all he had to say was it wasn't his fault and left it at that. We have purchased at Southwest Motors in the past and had a very pleasant experience . . . not this time. The salesman, Ryan, (I'll do him a favor and not post his last name) was outside the door the second I pulled up - before I had even turned my engine off. It felt like the stereotypical "used car salesman" was ready to pounce. He failed to introduce himself or ask our names until at least halfway through our visit, when we were ready to test drive a vehicle. When we returned following a god test drive, I noticed that Ryan had a cup of coffee for himself on his desk, but never even asked whether we would care for a glass of water. I felt he was "talking down" to us on the lot, and he left twice to go talk with (I suppose) the sales manager. The second time he was taking so long that we were about leave when he finally returned to his desk. There was absolutely no negotiation attempted on his part. That evening, I received an email from their General Manager, wanting to thank us for visiting and making certain that we were treated with courtesy and respect (a standard email that I'm certain goes to any prospective customer following a visit). I took the time to inform him of the way we were treated by Ryan. He replied with an apology, and I replied and that his courteous reply was the only reason we would consider another visit in the event a vehicle in the size and price range that fit came in over the weekend. On Monday morning, he sent an email stating that he had one that he believed was a good fit, and would have our PREVIOUS salesman, who sold us a vehicle a couple of years ago, contact me. We waited until after 4:30 that afternoon, but received no further contact from anyone. At that point a decision was made to purchase a vehicle which we had seen elsewhere - so I informed him by email that basically if Ryan had been courteous and respectful during our visit and there had been any attempt on his part to negotiate the price, we might have purchased a vehicle that morning, which would have precluded even shopping at any other location. Would I return to Southwest Motors in the future? Maybe . . . but if I were treated by another salesperson the way we were treated by Ryan I would be out the door in the first five minutes. read more

Shady dealership, do not buy from them I decided to help my sister by co-signing on a car for her, they went behind my back, asked her to have me text them personal information, which I found out they were supposed to actually call me about verify with me personally, and decided (on top of all that) to make me the primary on the car instead of being the co-signer without my permission and even badmouthed my family which my mom overheard on the phone coming from someone who works there named lanny or lenny (however it's spelled). They seem to enjoy lying a lot and making excuses when you catch them on it. He ran our credit without our permission and then we started getting notices in the mail and we never even decided on a vehicle. This was in October of 2020 and we are still getting letters in the mail in 2021 regarding Southwest Motors about our credit. WTF!?!? We ended up going to Lexus of Colorado Springs and we got the best service and we got a Subaru that we are absolutely in love with! Never will I ever recommend this place to anyone!!! read more
