First of all, the place is filthy and in disrepair, definitely not run by someone who understands hygiene. I wish I'd taken pictures of some things for the health department. Second, the woman who was working there yesterday is rude to the point of open hostility towards disabled people. She didn't hide her utter disdain and apathy for my mobility problems, and she refused me service on the basis that, when washing my hair at the only angle I'm able to manage to hold my neck at over the wash basin, a bit of water might have run down my neck and dripped onto the floor. The irony of her being horrified by the possibility of needing to mop up a tiny puddle of soapy water afterwards, is that her filthy floor was desperately in need of a good wet mopping anyway. More the point, other salons (such as Vis A Vis) have adjustable wash bowls and chairs so that they can be angled to the need of the customer. That's because the American Disability Act means something to them, and they have a culture of inclusion and accessibility. In contrast, Perfect Cut treats disabled people like dogs to be shooed away with contempt and disgust. read more

I came here and got a hair cut cause I was on that side of town. I paid 30$ and she didn't even spray my hair or part it . she just combed it down and started to cut some of my hair off . No wonder when I got home and flat ironed my hair, I notice one side was cut shorter then the other. I live in HappyValley. And I was going out of town for 2 weeks... So I figured when I got back into town I had to go see a friend in Sw and so I Decided to go by Perfect Cut and show the lady that my hair was uneven and was hoping she could fix it. She looked at me and said do you want to pay for another hair cut it had been 3 weeks and she said my hair grew out uneven in 3 weeks. And said she would not fix it. I took my 6 year old son here to have his hair cut in a faux hawk. The owner is also the one who cuts hair and she did a great job. She is quick, and friendly. Even though there were 2 other men in front of us, it was a very brief wait, and she explained our wait time before we sat down. When it was our turn, she listened to what we wanted and paid attention to detail, while getting us in and out fast enough that my son never got fidgety. I have long hair but frankly do not style it often. It is hard for me to justify paying over $30 for a haircut when I know I will wear it the same way every day. Well the prices went up to $15 from 3 months ago. WORST HAIRCUT OF MY ADULT LIFE, and I used to cut my own hair! I called ahead to ensure a minimal wait time, and thats where things went downhill. The entire haircut took 6 minutes. Yep, 360 seconds. I've waited at red lights longer than this follicle fallacy. She used the clippers so briskly it pulled my hair to the point of wincing. I received a clipper pinch on my neck which later scabbed up nicely! Now, one week later, I discovered that I have a bald-ish patch on the back of my scalp.. but that's what all the kids are doing now right? You could cut your own hair left handed with a steak knife.. or you could get it done here for $15. read more

I am a Magnum Opus Salon junky. I have been going their for almost 20 years. I however have had to switch stylist b/c my original stylist is now $75 for a cut which is above my limit. Well, my stylist cancelled my appointment for Friday so needing a cut and color I went looking in my neighborhood which has many good salons. Unfortunately last minute on a Friday is difficult to find an appointment. So I took the plunge. Now many would say you can get a perfectly good cut at a walk in salon and I agree if you find the right stylist, but color, well that can be another thing...as I have tried before. So I went to SW Perfect Cut (used to be Great Clips.) The owner and only stylist Diana was pleasant, experienced and has owed the salon for 5+ years. As the economy has had a downswing so has her business so she is the only one their. I am happy to say that 3 days later I am VERY HAPPY with my cut, color and brow wax all for $70. (your's might be cheaper my hair sucked up 2 bottles of color.) Anyway if you are trying to save a buck or just want to give something a try I recommend supporting her small business in a strip mall. I hate paying $50 at the salon where I get my hair colored just for a trim...I don't have an intricate style (I have long hair), so that kind money is sorta silly. Her scissors are sharp, she's friendly, it's quick. It's the same price as like a Great Clips-type of place, and the same expectations (no pampering/shampooing/blowout etc. just for a basic trim or cut). But she's not a chain, just a local businesswoman who's knowledgeable and good at what she does and for a price that's low. This wasn't my first visit but it will most certainly be my LAst. Out of 3 visits she got my cut right. Last time I gave a picture to go by and it was perfect with just a little tweeking on the neckline. Today I gave her the same pic and not one thing except the bangs was done correctly. She didn't taper my neckline. It looks like she put a bowl on it and just cut. The top and sides are way to short. I was like her second to the last appointment and I think she just wanted to get me done so she could get on to the guy waiting. She can cut guys hair because a student can do that but a cut that takes time is way beyond her and she has been in the business long enough to do better. read more
