Hands-down Trent is the best colorist in the West. He was my stylist for YEARS, before he relocated to Lake Oswego and opened Trent Edward Salon. Not that I don't support his dreams, but this was a life-altering event for me. How, exactly, does one find satisfaction with another colorist/stylist when you've already experienced the best? If you figure that out, let me know. It's like eating coconut ice cream that's pretty good, or you thought it was when you were out buying gin and frozen pizzas, but when you finally drop the spoon, you're just the teensiest bit disgusted with your choice. Real butter pecan was out there, but nooooo, you went for the coconut milk rocky road. Don't coconut ice cream your HAIR. It should be delicious, full, shiny, healthy, perfectly toned with gorgeous dimension. It's your HEAD. I've contemplated flying up to Lake Oswego every 4 weeks, but my selfish husband claims it would blow the budget. (The kids eat too much anyway, but whatever.) Also, Trent has awesome coffee. And you know how the holidays are coming up, and you're dreading seeing your horrible sister-in-law again, because she's judgmental and smug and will definitely notice those new bagel pounds? I found Trent Edwards after a lot of looking and research they are a L'Oréal professional salon. Shelby is a L'Oréal trainer! I have been to both Shantel and Shelby and are both awesome. They listen they REALLY listen to you. They spend allot of time and thought into your hair. They know their stuff. Color turns out perfect every time and I have crazy hair that is very temperamental to color. And Thier cuts what can I say? The cut always supports the style I don't have to fuss with my hair I do a wick dry and brush out and it falls into shape. I would recommend them without hesitation! I came to Trent salon for the first time about 3 weeks ago & saw Chanelle!! I was extremely happy with the results! She had to color correct my hair from a bad highlight I had received the month prior. I brought in a picture of what I wanted & she talked me through what I liked & didn't like about the picture before she dove in! I really appreciated her thoroughness of figuring out exactly what I wanted & envisioned before just assuming (which is what has happened in the past with other stylists). Trent has cut and colored my hair for several years. I have fine curly hair and was never very happy with former stylists. I also thought one had to go downtown Portland for great results. Who knew curly hair was so challenging? A curly-haired friend recommended Trent. He is the only one I will ever go to for the right cut, color and highlight! I've never been so happy with the way my hair looks. I've also never received as many compliments on my hair before Trent. I came to Trent Edward Salon after moving to Portland from out of state, and having a less than desirable experience at a different salon downtown. I first saw a wonderful stylist, but she moved out of town - so I was referred to Meagan. She does a beautiful job with my hair, is on time, thorough and I genuinely enjoy spending the time with her. She was out for a few months, so I saw Rachel and was equally in love! Great work on my hair, on time, and fun to chat with. Trent Edward is an amazing salon. I have been a happy customer for many years now and love that they work with my often erratic work schedule to make sure I show up to my meetings looking good. It is a beautifully designed space as well and they take a wonderful care of their customers with coffee made to order, delicious spa water, champagne... you name it. Coming here always feels like a mini vacation. And even now, where salons are closed to fight COVID-19, they are taking great care of their customers by providing goody bags with survival items to tie us over until the stay at home orders are lifted. Upon the recommendation of a friend I was visiting in the area, I visited this salon. My friend having beautiful hair, I didn't think twice about someone other than my usual stylist cutting my locks. I can be adventurous that way. Here's what happened. Trent Sutton gave me the Best. Haircut. Ever. Hands down. He is a master of his craft and skilled beyond words. I highly recommend Chanelle! She was recommended by a colleague during a time when I was very frustrated with my hair. I had post-partum and hypothyroid issues resulting in fine, thin, damaged, broken hair. She truly helped me get through a tough time and is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to hair. Best salon in Lake Oswego if not the entire PDX area. I usually see Trent and sometimes Rachel. I always leave feeling *very* happy. This is the only salon that cuts my hair in a way that allows me to style it myself at home. They work some kind of magic, because my hair is still healthy despite the fact that I lighten it quite a bit and use heat stylers at home. Awful place to go if you have a darker hair color. Came in with already bleached hair and wanted to go lighter but instead, the result ended up being back where I started on my hair journey. I can't even comprehend how asking for a lighter color turned out to be a black/purplish. The stylist Kristy kept persisting that the dark color would wash off but it never did. Again, highly do not recommend if you have a darker hair color as they do not know what they're doing. read more

Had a girls afternoon at Trent Edward Salon, this is my sixth time here, but my kids first time. Trent is always on time and does a great job. I'm always offered something to drink, he is ALWAYS on time...I've never had to wait. I always get a phone call reminder. The salon is uber clean and the staff is very friendly.
