I am a new grower. I went into Sow Cal Hydroponics about a month ago and was greeted by Chris. I asked him a question and soon realized that Chris is a book of knowledge. He explained in great detail every question I asked and even suggested solutions to improve the health of my plants. I ended up asking a ton of questions! I bought a bunch of nutrients, soil, pH product that Chris suggested and went home loaded with stuff for my plants. The results speak for themselves. My plants are now healthier, have grown a lot and are looking really nice. Prices are very reasonable when compared to other hydroponics stores in the area. Just went here a few min ago, searching for random hydro shops in the area. The other two closed down so I stopped in here. First off, the store is dirty as hell. There is literally shit piled everywhere, no organizational system in place at all. It looks and smells filthy inside. Was greeted by no one while the owner was speaking to someone else, no hi anything I can help you with. There are no prices listed anywhere, so I would've had to ask him about everything. There are no signs as to what is what. This store makes the medical marijuana community look sloppy and disgusting. What a horrible way to represent our community. This shop is legit! Chris is hands down the most knowledgable person I have met yet in the 2yrs I've been in the industry. Chris and the people at sow cal hydro are more than will to give you solid straight up advice and turn you on the right direction. I used to shop at the "big chain" hydro store and was told forty million different things to do and ways to do it. I'm a first time grower & have had my plants for about 3 months now and have been so overwhelmed by everything that comes with growing; nutrients, type of soil, the fact that I'm growing outdoors, how to give them nutrients, bugs & pests, etc. and for the first time since I started I felt like I was in good hands and could produce some great herb when I spoke with Chris and quickly realized how knowledgeable he is when it comes to EVERYTHING about growing (not just marijuana). My favorite part about this store though is that instead of selling nutrients they bought from a company Monsanto bought out to customers, they are giving away the same product but from a different company for free so Monsanto doesn't profit from their store. Not only is he a genius that can answer any question you have but they've stayed true to what they believe in even if it hurts them financially and to me that is the most beautiful thing I've seen in a long time! Chris Lopez is a manipulative and dishonest person. He's the weed dealer at the corner of your street who hasn't figured out the concept of repeat business. I gave him a budget for a system that I said had to include everything from beginning to end, and he asked for a deposit for it. I gave him a money order and I told him that I had to go over the rest of it with him before I handed him the rest of money. When I showed up with my truck I repeated the list of everything that had to be included, such as meters, filters, reverse osmosis, curing equipment,nutrients, he kept making excuses as to why he couldn't go over the list with me but acting as if everything would be included, and after we had finished loading a whole bunch of things on to the truck and many things were not included, I refused to hand him the rest of the money until my entire list was complete. It became quite clear afterwards that he had been playing a game. read more

THe worst hydro store of all time. I hate this place,. i'm never going back, This drug front is not fooling anyone. The Owner is an asshole and the entire time i dealt with him he was rude. Everyone hates this place, no one wants to even be seen walking by there. Nothing is ever in stock. No help ever, Never open (well i guess that's a good thing). I hope this place closes down. If you want to have toilet paper handed to you as a receipt this is your store. They have no POS system. Everything is handwritten and avoids tax. No computers, no records, No inventory stock. All the Nutes are old and are rotten. Atomic is a rip off of grow more and charges 3 times more. Mold on the bottle caps, Bug spray in the Brix Mix, Dirty store, When i asked how much was the total took 20 min because they cant ring up items. They need to look it up out of a catalog book and i guarantee that i was over charged. The Owner is a drug addict and is incredibly slow. Also unreliable. This place is a health hazard. It should be condemned. I have never given a bad review toa place in my life but this place is so bad that it is my first. Go to a quality hydro store nearby if you live in the area. sTAY AWAY FROM HERE!!!!! read more
