Did you ever watch Sanford and son? I got the same vibe At Heavenly Vintage with the added value of some cottage style plants. A business that is not self-evident as a nursery, I drove right past Heavenly Vintage Nursery. The fence did have lovely flowering vines and there were drought tolerant plants along the street, I was looking for a nursery and didn't connect my expectation to the actual business. It's more vintage than nursery. They have gobs of old things and old things holding plants. In all honesty, I was shocked at the limited plant offerings, they had a reasonable grouping of small succulents but I don't recall seeing normal nursery options. Rather scant selection of flowering plants and shrubs my mother in law picked up a wee succulent and the price was reasonable. A few items had prices. It was like a garage sale in that you had to ask about each item individually. I felt somewhat panicked at the chaotic layout and setting. I had a strong urge to leave. I absolutely love this place!!! They have unique, very healthy plants that are obviously nurtured with great knowledge and love. This magical family owned business is deserving of 100+stars. Tristan is beyond fabulous when it comes to off-the-charts customer service (even on short notice / holiday weekend) and incredible expertise to know what 3-year neglected plants needed. She came right over (after a long day in the store) and repotted, evaluated lighting, existing soil and determined nutrients needed...watered and set up a maintenance schedule so the plabies (plant babies) will keep thriving!! Tristan did not have any fresh cut flowers but made me a bouquet from from potted plants at the nursery, so beautiful. My kids loved walking around the garden and playing giant chess. I purchased a plant and a pot from another location about two weeks ago, and the pot did not have any drainage holes. I thought I could manage to still care for that plant, but then I started to get really worried. I'm not the best or the most knowledgeable when it comes to taking care of plants because I'm new to owning house plants, so I decided that my plans of taking care of a plant in a pot with no drainage holes was a bad idea. I found this place on yelp and decided to pack up my plant and drive over. I was just hoping to find another pot with drainage holes. Mike was a HUGE help, because he just said that he could put a drainage hole in the pot I already owned. This took a while because the bottom of the pot was thicker than anticipate, so it was making him work very hard! I started to feel bad about that... Then Kristen (I think...sorry if I got that wrong!) was also a huge help in finding a plate for my pot. When Mike was done, he helped me load my plant into my car. I was apologizing about how long that took and how difficult the pot was being, but he just smiled and assured me it was not a problem. He even gave me a discount on the plate! P.S. There is a VERY cute cat that will rub up against you and accept back rubs. I'll be coming back for sure! read more

Heavenly Vintage Nursery is a cute, local business with a wide variety of succulents. I stopped by one Sunday morning to pick up 40 succulents to give out for the holiday season. The two individuals working there were quite helpful, and offered me a deal if I purchased 40 (and, I did). All their succulents were healthy, and I was able to get a fresh batch that just came in. Everyone who got a succulent from me was thrilled; they were happy to get a little, healthy succulent for their office space! They have other plants too- and I'll definitely stop by when I have more time and need to give gifts out for friends and family. read more

I am very new to plants and when I moved into my new apartment, my sister and my aunt gifted me three beautiful housewarming plants, but I had no idea how to take care of them, let alone re-pot them. I brought them all in today with the intention of just buying new pots and potting soil and Mike helped me out a lot. He brought my plants in the backyard and offered to repot my plants for me on the spot! He explained the different types of nutrients he was putting inside the pot and he took his time making sure the plant was situated in the center and standing up straight, which I appreciated. He also told me how often I should water each type. The store itself is very small and cute. They had a nice variety of pots, fun little gifts, and of course plants. I saw a lot of succulents that were so tempting to buy. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who has questions about plants or is new to them like me! Really nice plant nursery with lots of outdoors plants. The lady who helped me was very kind and cooperative since she answered all of the questions I had about certain plants. She seemed very knowledgeable about each plant's care needs, such as how much sunlight and what kind of soil it needed. There were two cute tabby cats there too. The nursery also sells little trinkets such as earrings and necklaces. The shopkeeper even gave me a starter clipping as a sample to try growing. Overall, they offer a wide selection of plants and the customer service is great. read more

I absolutely fell in love with this place. When I buy plants from big box stores, they fail to thrive. I went to OC Hydroponics on Beach (also a great place) and they recommended this lovely family owned business. I've driven by it a lot and thought it was just a gift shop. When I walked in shop, I was greeted warmly. I wondered out back and felt like I was in a mini Roger's Gardens. It was plant heaven. Little rooms all set up. It is a little "messy" in a good way like nature really is. Great prices. Decent selection. The owners daughter even played with my little granddaughter while I shopped. She made some great suggestions. I overheard another customer ask about a bouquet. I got one too! Five bucks and they go out and pick the flowers from their garden out front! Amazing. Heavenly Vintage Nursery is great! They have many exceptional plants to choose from. My boyfriend and I was looking for a place that would redo the front plant area of our home. We've contacted a few other places and they either take too long to respond or was so rude! Heavenly Vintage Nursery very responsive. They were so nice and was such a pleasure to work with! Tristyn helped us with the plan and budgeting of our project. She was knowledgeable and fast! I feel like I've also gotten an education about gardening from this whole process. She was even able to help us salvage some of our plants that was almost dying. Tristyn is a wonderful person and it has been great working with her. Thanks to heavenly vintage, my wife and i's wedding had a BEAUTIFUL succulent wall as a backdrop as well as succulent bouquets bridesmaids and bride, corsages, and lapels. Every thing looked so perfect. My wife's main request for the wedding was this crazy idea for a 6 X 4 foot succulent wall and they made it completely custom for us! They checked in when they made changes and gave us updates along the way. The succulent wall is going to be in our family for decades, they did such an amazing job building the frame and setting everything up. They were so easy to work with and they really took the time to understand what we needed. The end result was a perfect wedding and a perfect day! They were even kind enough to include corsages and delivering the wall free of charge! Thanks to heavenly vintage we had a perfect experience and had our vision come to life. read more

I came a little close to closing time on a Sunday but the people there were still so friendly and let me still peruse their cute nursery! I was looking for small succulents and they had plenty [for $2.50 each] there were some basic ones but there were some RIDICULOUSLY CUTE ONES THAT I HAD NEVER SEEN BEFORE and so I snatched a few up! I really wanted to know their names so I think the daughter, took the time to look it up and write it them down for me and everything was rung up and neatly packaged in a cardboard box [I got 7 little succulents] at 5:20 pm. I super appreciate that they were so helpful despite going past closing time... MY NEW FAVORITE NURSERY! Thank you guys so much! PS: when I saw that super cute succulent that won my heart, I thought it resembled a bear's paw.... after looking it up online IT REALLY IS CALLED A BEAR'S PAW!! I picked two small containers and she filled them with succulents for a reasonable price. I appreciate that she was so up front with costs so there were no surprises. It is always such a treat to pop in to this lovely neighborhood nursery! I live in Newport but I drive over to fountain Valley so I can experience the sweetness of not only the people who run the nursery but all the treats to buy for myself and for friends and family. I tend to give plants for gifts now and I'm a tutor and purchased 40 mini succulents for all the children not this Christmas but the last Christmas and from what I understand most of them are still alive! I bought my mother some violets that made her think of her childhood and a little strawberry plant the beginning of the summer that had such juicy strawberries from it! The pots and jewelry and fun trinkets for your home and garden are so wonderful! Gina the owner is very kind and an incredibly knowledgeable nursery owner. She can make your garden so very special. Many of her plants are cottage style and not usually found at other local nurseries. She was very generous with her time and helped me to redesign my patios surrounding raised beds. The photo is a corner of my newly planted bed. I will have fragrance when dining al fresco with friends and family and these plants will also provide me with cut flowers too! I was looking for something modern and something already potted and ready to go because I am not a good gardener. I arrived 20 minutes before closing and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I found this beautiful glass bowl filled with succulents. It's approximately bowling ball size which will fit perfectly on my credenza. The price was $37 and I bought the last one so I hope the owner makes more, because it's perfect. This place is small, quaint and charming. I highly recommend that you check it out.
