So so disappointed. My husband and I decided we would do our own lawncare to save money. Dropped a big chunk of change from this "locally" owned company. The grandson was our sales person. Talked up the quality local customer service. We have 5 hours on the $7k machine and we are now on our 2nd belt. Takes them over a week to respond and pick it up. I was lied to. Do not trust this store. I also purchased a STIHL KombiSystem Spring 2012. First I came by to check the prices and they were very helpful though they had to call someone on the sales floor to me (though there were no customers on the floor). The second time, I came to purchase. Once again, someone had to call someone on to the sales floor. It was the same salesperson as before except this time he could care less to help me. I purchased the Kombi with an edger attachment. I also wanted to purchase a blower attachment but the two they had were in questionable condition. One was obviously used with soot stains, scoff marks and other signs of wear. The other one looked newer but looked like it was dropped since the shaft had some cracks and the body had scoff marks. I didn't want to buy them but the salesperson said I should call back to see if they get a new shipment. I called 3 months later and asked if they had any new ones. The salesperson said they had two new ones, never-been-used and fresh-out-of-the-box. I went over to the store and the two they had were the same blowers as 3 months prior. Basically, I was lied to and if anyone looked at these two blowers, it is easy to tell that these were not new from the box. I don't like being lied to and only I purchase from people I can trust. I will not go back to this store again and I will purchase my Stihl products elsewhere. read more

Dealt with Charles, bought a new commercial entry ZTR, he never pushed, I never felt that he had any interest in mind except mine, returned and bought my wife a new stihl hedge trimmer and myself a new stihl chainsaw, they loaned me a trailer to take my new tractor home, then sold me the trailer at a price I couldn't refuse!!! Yes, I have spent a lot of money there, and will spend more very soon....need a tractor with a loader due to hurricane Michael, and I feel that my money spent there is probably the best spent anywhere, or maybe I just like toys, we will see!! read more

Would NOT give this company ANY stars, unless there was a negative star, but had to give one star cas it would not post. Was going to buy a used tractor and was in final stages of buying the tractor and Robin (owner) decided to sell to his buddy and not consult the salesman to see if he was working on anyone for the tractor. SOO a BIG waste of my time. I would rather go out of town and deal with another dealer. NEVER WILL I BUY FROM SOWELL TRACTOR AGAIN. read more

I also bought a STIHL Kombi system, last summer. I knew which one I wanted, but they sold the last power unit to the guy in line in front of me. They offered to sell me the next more powerful unit for only a slight upcharge -- I think it was $20 -- I went for it. They were very helpful in answering all questions. There was a recall on the fuel cap. I just dropped in and they changed it on the spot. Overall, no pressure, no hassles. Just had a problem with my mower, not bought from them. The parts guy spent a hald hour with me working out the problem and finding a solution...for $6 in sales. They know that if they treat people like this that they will be back...they are correct, I will be going back for my equipment from now on. Only slight problem is their hours. They close at 1200 on Saturday. Wish they were open all day on Saturday. Small downside to a huge upside. Good stuff! read more

Have never wrote a yelp review or a google review before, but I felt strongly enough about my experience with this dealer to create accounts with both and write this very negative review. I have bought upwards of $20k worth of new lawn equipment from this dealer in the last several years. Have had no issues/problems with the sales department at all. However, service is another story. If you need service on your equipment, you may want to consider other options. I have taken my zero turn mower in twice since I bought it. First time was for the 250 hr service. With a price tag of $550+, I felt violated to the point where I talked to a manager and he in turn reduced the price $100+. The second time I took it in, there was a strange noise coming from the mower deck. After waiting for 11 days, I finally received a call informing me that the gearbox assembly would need replacement with a quote of $1,622.62 (parts and labor). After doing some research online, and talking to another Kubota dealer, I decided to pick my mower up and look elsewhere for service. So, after arriving to pick up the mower, receiving the replacement parts list, and paying $148.50 just for the diagnosis, I left Sowell Tractor once again feeling violated. Once I made it home I pulled out the parts list I received from Sowell Tractor and called another Kubota dealer to price out parts. With the sales representative on the phone, I started with the gearbox assembly (part # K5668-33105), which Sowell had quoted $1,054.75. The representative gave me a price of $612.50. Next, I told the sales representative I needed a dust cover (part # K5647-34312), which Sowell had quoted me $13.99. The representative gave me a price of $5.45. The next items on the parts list I received from Sowell was a circular clip internal (part # 06411-00520), a circular clip external (part # 04612-00220), and a bearing (part # 08101-06205). When I asked the sales rep for pricing on these parts, he asked me why and told me that all these parts were internal to the gearbox assembly (part # K5668-33105). So Sowell Tractor was trying to sell me parts that I did not even need. Long story short, I ended up paying $617.95 for what Sowell was going to charge me $1,105 (parts only). As for the labor, per the Sowell quote, I was quoted approximated $500 to replace the gearbox (of which I already paid $148.50 for 1.8 hrs to diagnose). This is a joke.............less than 10 easily accessible bolts to be removed. Will not be back to Sowell Tractor for equipment purchase or service in the future! read more
