The message was left for me less than 2 hours before my appointment. I asked if I would still have to pay for my appointment since I couldn't get there and asked why nothing was posted on their website when I scheduled about possible access issues. She told me that I should have looked on the city's website to see what the city had going on for that day and that I would have to pay since I didn't give 24 hours notice and again pointed out that she left Me a message the morning of my appointment. I pointed out that her mess wasn't 24 hours before my appointment and I should be able to reschedule. She refuses to reschedule me and charged me for my missed appointment. There are two quiet areas, one would be nice if you came with a group of friends, but it allows you to have separation from others if desired. My only concern: Jessica is the only nail technician so there is no way to book a pedicure with a friend. There are also no nail services on Fridays or Saturdays. Seems an opportunity to me.

It's located just across the street from Napolese on the corner of 49th and Pennsylvania - a nice neighborhood spot. Walk in and you'll notice the super relaxing Zen vibe right away. It has a white drapey interior with bubbling water fountains, but doesn't go overboard. I was given a facial by Sandra, who owns the spa. She is warm and focused. She offered me tea (from Hubbard & Cravens which is HQed in the neighborhood) and made sure I was comfortable, positioned a pillow under my knees. Then she got to work. Anyone who's had a deep facial knows the true test of a good facialist is their technique with extractions. This is where they actually clean your pores one by one, and it's never comfortable. At worst it's as painful as a bikini wax. Enough said. Sandra's extraction technique was very respectable. She was quick and gentle. The facial also included an eyebrow wax - she's good at that too. And the whole facial was $75 - very reasonably priced. I'll be back the next time I need a little pampering - or when the seasons change again (whichever comes first).
