The Spa at Harbor Shores is absolutely wonderful! I have been having biweekly facials at the Spa since its opening over 10 years ago, and I look forward to each visit as if it were my first. Everything from the warm welcoming as you enter to the serene setting within the spa makes each visit feel special. I have also had facials when traveling, and nothing has ever compared to the treatment I receive here. Their line of Skin Authority products is the best. Called literally 45 minutes prior to arriving to see if they could sneak my husband in for a massage since it was his birthday! They totally let us walk in for a massage!! Great customers service, in a very beautiful location and I got to sit out back and catnap on the water since its located at the Harbor Shores Inn. I would give it 5 stars, but the price was quite steep, then again prices at ANY Inn or hotel usually are! Overall I am thankful they let me walk in and they made his day! ENJOYED our couples massage. There's a private changing room with lockers and a shower. I could tell there was another couple using it as well but our paths never crossed. The massage was firm but relaxing. We loved going downstairs for a drink and eats feeling relaxed and refreshed. Great spot - modern, clean, relaxing. read more

Not great, mediocre at best. The location is nice as far as the inn being on the water having a nice restaurant, the rise n vine coffee shop is great. The spa is small, but aesthetically looks just "nice", not plush or anything extravagant. The sauna off of the women's bathroom is nice although very small, everything is very small. This is like a micro boutique spa. There is a quiet relaxation room again small, but a nice idea. I have tried three services here three different times, and every time has been some thing disappointing. One of the treatment rooms is directly above a pool, and you can hear the kids splashing yelling and playing, even over the music. The services seem a "bit by the book", I know they have had staffing issues here so it seems they may be hiring people who are green, or just doing the basic by the book treatments, one employee was very welcoming upon check-in however, over the top excessively joyful as if trying too hard, nothing terrible just a bit entertaining at best, it seems there has been some scheduling confusion, menu items switched around, confusion, and the biggest complaint is the manager Kelly, very offputting, especially if you have a little extra communication or questions, and unfortunately, I heard her discussing a client with staff in a derogatory way. As I have gotten more familiar to the community and surrounding areas, there are a variety of places to go elsewhere that are better priced and a much better experience, I have heard about this manager notoriously being problematic. I would say because the pricing is so high and the experience is not top notch-It gets one star. read more

I also showed up early to my appointment and I got to get in early, the lady I worked with did a fantastic job and I enjoyed the whole experience. Yes, this spa is as good as it gets. I've been going here for a year for a monthly facial with Kelly. I opt for the Beauty Workout facial, and I have to tell you my skin looks amazing. Kelly is very meticulous about diagnosing any issues and applies the very best natural products to improve my skin. Even in my first northern winter, my skin was hydrated and healthy. Today I opted for the full package - massage, facial and pedicure, and all were amazing. They even ordered up lunch for me, and I had a delicious kale and quinoa salad from Planks. I feel healthy, relaxed and pampered. I love the fact that my skin looks and feels great, but I mostly just love, love, love this place. So glad I found it when I first moved to Michigan! read more

Never again. Used spa for hair for my wedding. Was very bad. Hair dresser couldn't do any of the updo photos I sent to her for my bridesmaids. Trail went good for my hair then wedding day my curls fell immediately and she didn't start the curl high enough to begin with. If I could change anything about my wedding day it would be my hair and now I have to live with those photos forever. Very disappointed. They Didn't even know what to do for mother in laws hair. You can't just put hair in a hair knot and call it an updo and change $50. Also other staff was not helpful when trying to figure out a location for my makeup artist that was already discussed prior, unprepared. Never Again. read more

I get my nails done at least once a month...and this experience was the worst nail experience I've ever had. We were scheduled for a manicure and a pedicure which should have been from 11:30-1:30 for my friend (a bride and I was the maid of honor). That's typical of any experience I've had and should have been great. Well, we finished both the pedi and the gel manicure in under an hour. The pedicure was the equivalent of a teenager painting my nails yet charging $55+ for it. I was left with oil dripping off of my legs, no lotion was used. The exfoliator was rubbed on my dry legs after they had been out of the water for an extended amount of time and the massage was not memorable. We then moved over to the manicure. I have acrylics and they had no idea how to approach a color change for my gel polish. I can understand not doing a fill...that was asked for. But the top coat was buffed off and they painted over my previous color (cutting my finger which then got infected). Thankfully I came with a light neutral color but it ended up being 5 coats of gel over top of color and acrylic. My nails were as thick as a nail file. To top off the experience we had to come back the next day because the brides manicure peeled within hours of leaving. They touched up a few nails without question but they were all peeling off during her honeymoon (within days of the manicure). We spent hundreds of dollars for this experience...it should have met expectations of that cost. read more

My mom and I came to St. Joseph's for a mini-vacation and chose the Spa and Harbor Shores for some pampering. From booking our services to the actual experience, everything was absolutely wonderful. Kelly was an absolute dream to communicate with over the phone from Chicago, making sure everything was exactly what we wanted- a facial and massage for each of us, taking place at the same time. When we got to the spa, my mom and I were the only ones there and felt like VIPs. We were given separate changing rooms, relaxed in the sauna, and chilled in the relaxation room before our services. I started with my massage and it was so relaxing and wonderful ( I don't remember the massage therapist's name). Then it was time for my facial with Kelly. It was everything a facial should be- relaxing and customized. I really enjoy extractions, which Kelly did with care, and made some recommendations for skin care but was in no way pushy. I highly, highly recommend the Spa at Harbor Shores and Kelly especially! read more

I wish I did not have to give this spa any stars. I've been to spas all around the world. This rented out space spa is riding on the fact that they are living in the Inn at Harbor Shores. Nothing was high end as their aesthetics would suggest. They are overpriced. I love the hotel and the bar- the spa is terrible. read more
