*This is a review for massage only. I have not had other services here recently.* I got a massage here and left a little disappointed. She did focus on the areas I wanted but it wasn't the best massage Ive ever had and the professionalism needed to be improved. I showed up 5-10 minutes early so I had time to get myself ready for the massage to start on time. The massage therapist didn't show up until the start time of my massage and I didn't get called back until 5 minutes after the start. While I was first in the room, she was messing with her phone for the music until giving up and leaving me to get ready. I think I was in there alone 5-7 minutes before she came back, so at this point I was at least 10 minutes into my massage time before she even started. When she ended I thought it felt shorter than an hour. She left me to get dressed and my phone showed "12:29", still within the hour of my massage. Anyway, I wasn't happy that I showed up early for a full hour and because the therapist was late and not ready, I got a much shorter massage despite paying for a full hour. I scheduled this about a week in advance and had to confirm 24 hours prior so it's not like this was short notice. The massage itself was okay. I asked for deep tissue and I'm pretty sure she used her elbow for hard pressure. I did ask her to focus on my upper and lower back and she did, but despite it still being a full body massage I only had about 5 minutes total on other parts of the body (arms, legs, head/neck). There are two massage therapists here, I had Christina. The price was reasonable, but I'd rather pay higher for better quality and a full hour. Anyway, I probably won't be back and will continue my search for a massage therapist in this area. read more

If you're getting married, go here for your hair!! JoAnna was amazing. I did a trial which eased my mind because I got my hair trimmed shorter than planned, but she took one look at a photo I brought in and still nailed it! I loved my hairstyle and she really listened to what I wanted (not too poofy). It was secure and looked great all night. Same goes with my bridesmaids' hair! Everyone was super happy with the results and looked great all night. We had so much fun getting ready, ok to bring mimosa supplies, and everyone at the salon (especially JoAnna) is super relaxed and personable, but does a flawless job. Richelle did a great job with my makeup too, I don't usually wear makeup and she made sure I still looked like myself. I so appreciate all the staff's attention to detail. I didn't live in st joseph and did not have time to do trial at different hair salons. I solely relied on the ONE good review I found online for Reva Salon and Spa. Other hair salons did not have any reviews and one other Salon had a single bad review; so I used a little logic and called Reva Salon. They were wonderful. Joanna is really friendly and easy to work with. I had 3 bridesmaids and my mom so for the 5 of us Joanna came with Jenna. They came to us and were on time, had everything needed, were super nice, professional and caring. We all loved our up-do's. All in all I would give this place an 7.5 out of 10 for my wedding hair needs and nails/pedis. Pros: Friendly staff My hair was perfect and held all night! Tricia was AMAZING!!!! Beautiful, roomy salon Everyone liked their hair from my bridal party, one gal even re-did my sisters when it didn't look as good as it could have after completed Cons: We brought mimosas and there wasn't any table set up prior to our arrival to put stuff on. We were all standing aimlessly in the waiting area and staff members were pulling a couple of us from the front. It felt kind of like they weren't prepared for us to come in. A staff member started doing my hair an hour early bc she accidentally switched me and my mother in law up on the schedule. Silly mistake and all was fine but was confusing. JoAnna was tough to get a hold of and I had made multiple attempts to set up a time and day to pay for our services and she simply just wouldn't call when she said she would. Although this was frustrating as I was trying to check off my to do list to complete before the wedding she was extremely sweet. May have been just very busy with other weddings but still it was stressful for me. Shellac Mani/ regular pedi was almost $85 for me?! I live in New York and can get both of those cheaper which I found pretty outrageous. I was hoping a discount would have been provided as i chose to work with the same salon as my hair instead of going elsewhere and was told no. All in all, I would recommend this spot for hair but probably would go elsewhere for mani/pedi. read more

The only reason I give them one star is because the stylists did a great job. The wedding coordinator, however, was incredibly rude and unprofessional. If you are considering this salon for you wedding, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. It's not worth the hassle. Joanna was fantastic to coordinate wedding services with and did a great job on everyone's make up and my hair (bride). I would highly recommend having her on your wedding day. Kristy did my mom's and the rest of the wedding party's hair and only 2 of 6 were satisfied with their hair. The salon was nice and very accommodating when we had nails done there the day before the wedding but mine and others chipped the next day. I was a bit apprehensive to get my hair done at Reva in my small hometown of St. Joseph (yes, I got my hair done here growing up, but I've long ago moved to the "big city"). I'd heard good things about Reva from friends and family members, so I decided to give them a call and scheduled an appointment for a haircut with Melanie while I was home for Christmas. The salon is hidden in the back of the Sandman barbershop (and I also wasn't so sure about due to the location). Upon my arrival, I initially tried to go into a blocked off side door and quickly found my way to the main entrance. To say that I was surprised at what greeted me would be an understatement. If I didn't know better, I would have thought I had entered an upscale "big city" salon. I was instantly welcomed by the girl at the front desk, and she went to grab Melanie, while I browsed the large selection of Pureology, Redken, Sebastian, and OPI products they had for sale. Melanie came to get me with a huge smile on her face. We went back to her station where she examined my hair and asked me what I liked/disliked about my current cut. She gave me suggestions, and we talked through options, deciding on what sounded best to both of us. She shampooed my hair as I relaxed with my feet up, and then she proceeded to cut my hair, pleasantly chatting and giving me a "play by play" as she cut. I have super curly hair so she only partially dried it with the diffuser (to avoid frizz. Not ideal with the winter weather, but better than the option of being a frizzball. I didn't have time to sit under the dryer, either, which would have been the ideal option). Melanie walked me to the front desk, where I promptly checked out. And I was thrilled with how affordable the cut was! This was a pleasant salon experience, and a month later I'm still happy with the cut. And the best part: Melanie did not pressure me to buy any product AT ALL! She did inquire as to what I currently use on my hair and gave me a couple of tips as to how to use it, but she didn't try to sway me into switching products. I always go to Haley because she's younger and is really great at keeping up with current trends (although everyone there is fantastic!). For my wedding I booked through JoAnna who was wonderful! Super helpful and set me up with Haley for my hair (gorgeous!) and Rachele (who was unbelievably sweet! So considerate, kind, and professional) to do my make up. They were on-time, professional, and made us all look AMAZING for my wedding day! This post is for the bridesmaid makeup that I received this past weekend for a wedding I was in. Overall, it was really disappointing. I spent the extra money to get airbrush and was very dissatisfied. The makeup was not set after application and nothing was blended in. There was no contouring, highlight and the blush was nonexistent. I had to ask for a lot of things and additionally I had to ask the lady twice to blend in my eye makeup because it looked that bad. My eye liner was not blended in and was uneven. I even asked her to set my under eye with powder because of my dark circles and she failed to do it. The worst part was when she used eyeliner on my eyebrows and cover girl mascara on my lashes. Seriously?? Not professional and not what I paid for. I've gotten my makeup done for weddings quite a bit and this was the worst application I've had thus far. I am not normally the one to post bad reviews but I left there really disappointed and felt I wasted my money. I could have done a better job doing my own makeup. I would not recommend them for bridesmaid makeup. I did get my hair done here and it looked really good. I would recommend them for bridal/bridesmaid hair....just not makeup. The employees here are extremely friendly and welcoming, but their makeup services are lacking. read more

They were not at all ready when we arrived, scrambling where to put us. Had been assured at least 3 pedi chairs together, in reality only 2. Asked for a table for food and snacks-none provided. I'm new in town and I got my hair done by Jena. I'm trying to grow my hair out, and I had some longer subtle layers in it. I told her I needed a trim and she asked if I wanted her to shape up the layers and I said yes, I wanted to keep the layers. She cut more than I would have liked in length and she took my layers and cut them four inches above where the rest of my hair falls, and my ends are now very thin! The layers are not very well blended and it looks like I am wearing a wig over the rest of my hair. The salon itself looks very nice, but this experience was awful. read more

I got married in Michigan in June. I was skeptical to use Reva because I couldn't find any reviews on hair that they had done for weddings, but then again I couldn't find reviews for ANYONE in the St. Joe's area for wedding day services. After a trial with Joanna I decided to use Reva for their on-site day of hair/makeup services. They sent four women to our lake house the morning of the wedding and everything was great. They were on time and brought the salon to us. Joanna is just fantastic and easy to work with. She really listens to what you want and makes it happen. They also sent Beth and Haley who I would also recommend. Everyone who got their hair done by Haley absolutely loved it! Stephanie was sent also but I would be hesitant to recommend her. She made multiple rude comments and even made a few people whose makeup she was doing very uncomfortable. For example, we were told to come hair unwashed and no makeup on, after all we were paying to get our makeup done. Well Stephanie was just appalled that some of the girls didn't have their own primer or foundation with them. Hello, we were paying you to do the makeup I didn't realize I had to tell my bridal party to bring their own! Overall, I'd recommend Reva for on-site day of wedding services. read more

Jamie is a caring, calm, easy to get to know person who gives a marvelous massage. She can offer a relaxing massage if that is what you want. I live in Chicago and had limited time to schedule a trial; Reva was very flexible and fit me in outside of salon hours. I was nervous since there weren't many wedding party reviews, but after the trial I knew that I made the right decision (I looked flawless). JoAnna was great to work with and made me feel comfortable (did all scheduling and communications through her). On the day of the wedding, the Reva team showed up on-time, really listened to what everyone wanted (even offering suggestions),and made the whole wedding party look amazing. We all got compliments all night long! I will be tagging my wedding pictures to their salon once they are in so everyone can see the amazing work they did.
