Wow! Love this place! Had a haircut here and the staff was so helpful in my decision for length/style. They did a great job. They also do blowouts/curls/etc at the end of the haircut. Looking forward to making this my new salon. Ambiance is so great. Haircut was only $46 before tip. I will say it's hard to find their pricing online and the front desk staff could not answer many questions when I called. read more

I have never had such a negative experience at a salon. Apparently my hairdresser was having a very bad day as evidenced by his reaction to someone needing to cancel their appointment and his response of telling them to never schedule again. He never asked what I wanted done and was extremely rude. I ended up walking out 2 hours later very frustrated, upset and paying lots of money for something I did not request. My first time experience was horrible! My appointment was scheduled for 9:00. At 8:53 I received a text that the hair stylist was running a few minutes late. Not a big deal even though I was at the salon already. I went in had a seat, the receptionist came up to me, told me the hair dresser would be a couple of minutes late and to have a seat. I was confused because I already was sitting. At 9:30, the hair stylist finally walked in, 30 minutes late. She never once apologized for her inability to keep her schedule appointment. She put me in her chair and left me sit there for 7 minutes, at this point I was very frustrated and after I noticed her cup of coffee from Starbucks I was to angry to sit any longer. I took of the cape and left. This is a horrible first experience and I would not recommend this salon to anyone! read more

I tried my luck the week before New Years Eve and stopped in every salon in St. Joe. Everybody was either booked or a stylist wasn't onsite at the time. Salon Devoir was my last stop. Although they couldn't take me on Thursday they had an opening early on Friday so I booked it. Corrine was FANTASTIC! My "do" was a "don't" and Corrine changed all that. I'm always a little reluctant to go to a new salon, but my experience at Salon DeVoir was wonderful. The atmosphere had an upscale feel but was still very cozy and welcoming, not stuffy and pretentious like a lot of salons. My hair was in desperate need of some TLC and Corrine did a fantastic job reviving my lifeless locks. I will definitely be back and am looking forward to trying out their nail services. read more

This is hands down the best salon. I live in Chicago but I am from St. Joe. When I know I will be home I try to book with Lucy for cut and color. Aforementioned cut and color are way way way cheaper than what I can get in Chicago and honestly she does a better job than any Chicago salon that is triple the price of Salon Devoir. I return to Chicago so happy with my hair and always get asked "where do you get your hair done?" Yes traveling to St. Joe for hair may not work for all Chicagoans but the salon is not far from the Amtrak station and there is lots to do in St. Joe (in the summer/fall/spring that is....) The stylists here are all so talented, sweet and very professional. Lucy also cuts my sister, bro-in law and two young kids and does a bang up job on all of them. Plus she is so sweet and tolerant of the not-always charming behavior of my niece and nephew. The salon is beautiful and so relaxing. If you find yourself in St. Joe book at Salon Devoir, you won't regret it. read more

The only reason I'm leaving a full star is because it won't let me leave a half star... Thank God for Amy, otherwise my wedding day would've been a total bust when it came to hair and make up. I called Salon Devoir, 5-6 times to confirm hair and make up for me and my bridesmaids leading up to the wedding, and I never once had a problem with schedules or them telling me there we're no appointments for my bridesmaids to get their make up done. However, the day of the wedding, we find out that my bridesmaids were "never scheduled" to get their make up down. I was told that I never called to confirm, and they would never do that since they knew one of the girls in the salon that does the make up was out of town that weekend. Their redemption was offering to do the make up for free to make up for the confusion, which was nice, but the make up was poorly done considering it wasn't done by a professional. We also had a problem with one of the stylist who wanted to get "her" money and wouldn't let anyone do my mother's hair. I ended up getting Amy without the "consent" of the other girl because we were running out of time and my mom still hadn't gotten her hair done. The Salon also said they reserved the whole Salon for us for the day, and yet a woman came in to get a massage. The massage therapist picked up all the dresses that were in her room and just scattered them all over the other room without even asking us. Later, we had asked the salon if we could stay to take pictures, which they said was fine. After about 45 minutes, they started to complain among each other and one woman even brought in her husband/partner. They were starring us down and making us feel so uncomfortable to the point where we just ended up leaving. I'm SO disappointed in the experience I had with the salon, and I will not be recommending it to ANYONE. I will however recommend Amy. She did an amazing job on my hair and make up and I couldn't have been happier. read more

We used Salon Devoir while in town for a wedding. The Salon was very clean, the prices more then fair and the staff was outstanding. I had booked a slot for my daughter to have her hair braided and a blow out for myself. Lizzie not only braided my daughters hair, but gave a "pretty" to attach at the end, as well as a glitter spray, much to her delight. Not only did they do a great job with my blow out, they were more then generous with their time. Not sometime you see a lot when you're a walk in off the street. Thank you, Lizzie!!! read more
