Normally I will expound for hours on end about a place I like, as seen in some of my other reviews…read more I do, however, have much to say about Saratoga Cleaners. As a guy that has to look business professional all the time when dealing with customers, cost can add up quick. If I'm not wearing a suit, I will be wearing a button down shirt if I'm not on the road dealing with clients like I normally do. When I have important business, I will often wear French Cuffs, and this is one of the places where Saratoga Cleaners shines above all others in the area. they actually know that when you press a french cuff shirt, you fold the cuffs DOWN. I have been to many cleaners in the area. Some in Saratoga, some in east Greenbush, some in Troy where I live, and some in Albany where I am often conducting business. NONE of them know what to do with french cuffs, Especially the East Greenbush cleaners, who will remain nameless. So lets break it down: Cost: You simply can't beat Saratoga Cleaners. You get a quality 5-star job at an unbeatable price. Quality of Service: If you ask for light starch, you get light starch. If you like cardboard shirts, I'm sure they could accommodate you. If you are like me and don't like starch at all, just a slick press - Saratoga Cleaners has no peers. This is where it's at. Staff: They listen, have great attention to detail, and are always VERY courteous. Wait Time: What's that? Even during a rush they get you in and out the door quickly. Try getting that from one of the other garden variety dry cleaners in the area. They also do alterations here. I had a suit altered for a wedding I was going to; one of my suits that I bought when I was a tad more husky. Couldn't have found a better fit. The woman working on the alterations measured me, got an idea for how I wanted the suit to fit, took the suit, and had it ready on time a few days before the wedding. So in conclusion - I drive from Troy to Saratoga to go here to get my stuff cleaned, pressed, whatever, despite having literally 100 other choices, of which 2 are walking distance to my house. Dry cleaning is like a haircut. You find a good barber and stick to 'em. Dry cleaning is no different.

Ruined drapes and refused to honor their own written policy. Do not bring your valued dry cleaning…read morehere! I brought my drapes here for service (totaling $64). The laundromat completely ruined them with both the length being shrunk and as a result the texture being ruined on all 4 panels. Their official store receipt explicitly states they will pay "up to 10x the cost of service" for damage, which equals $640. The actual replacement cost for my drapes was less. Despite their own written policy covering this full amount, they refuse to pay the amount to replace. The staff when I went in person said it shouldn't be a problem to get fully refunded. Now after numerous calls over the past few weeks, the manager of the organization will not reach out to me and is using his team to act as the in-between. They also admitted that no one even knows who monitors or accesses their company email inbox, making communication impossible. Because this business does not care about making things right and treating their customers fairly by honoring their written guarantees, I have officially filed formal complaints with the New York State Attorney General's Office and the Division of Consumer Protection. Beware of doing business here if you value your textiles. Please see the before and after photos to make your own judgement.

It genuinely pains me to write this because, until now, we had nothing but positive experiences…read morewith Forest Cleaners. After what happened yesterday, we will never return. We dropped off an expensive shirt to be dry cleaned. It was purchased from Italy for $180 less than a month ago and worn to a wedding on August 1. It's also very distinctive, with light blue buttons and patterned detailing inside the cuffs and along the front button placket. When we picked up our dry cleaning, Forest Cleaners GAVE US SOMEONE ELSE'S SHIRT. Mistakes happen. I understand that. What I cannot accept is how the owners handled the situation once I brought it to their attention. I was told they now need a WEEK to "track down" our shirt because the actual cleaning is handled by a third party. That was news to me and, frankly, raises another concern. I thought I was trusting Forest Cleaners with our clothing. I had no idea our garments were being sent elsewhere for cleaning. The owner explained that the wrong ticket had apparently been placed on our garments and mentioned that they process more than 100 shirts a week. I'm sorry, but that is not the customer's problem. Your volume does not excuse giving one customer's clothing to another customer. What upset me most was the response from the male owner. I was speaking calmly with his wife, who was also speaking calmly with me. When I explained that if they could not locate the shirt, I expected to be reimbursed for it, he became combative and began yelling at me. I had to ask him to change his tone and stop speaking to me that way. Think about this from the customer's perspective. You require payment upfront. We paid you to professionally care for our clothing. You then gave our $180 shirt to someone else, told us we need to wait a week while you try to locate it, and then yelled at me when I said I expected reimbursement if it cannot be found. I have the original receipt for the shirt. This isn't an exaggerated value or something we purchased years ago. We bought it last month. This happened Saturday, August 22. I was told they would contact me within a week, so I will update this review with how Forest Cleaners ultimately resolves the situation. Regardless of whether the shirt is recovered, the way this was handled has already lost our business. A mistake is one thing. How you treat a customer after your business makes that mistake tells me far more. I expected accountability, concern, and an effort to make the situation right. I did not expect to be yelled at for asking a business to take responsibility for an expensive garment entrusted to its care. We will not be returning.

But this Cudney's certainly impressed me. It was brightly lit and warm, and for a self-service laundromat, it was also very clean and well maintained. My mom has been to other laundromats in the area (beyond the Cudney's cleaners), and she likes this site much better - very few machines out of order (and when they are, they're marked), and she's never had a problem with close smelling off after being washed here (she has at others). It does seem to me that for a laundromat of this size, there weren't enough chairs for customers to sit. Also, I was not aware of a bathroom on site. I guess you have to walk next door to Stewart's?

This location also has a coin laundry attached to the building. My review only covers that area…read more Although the place was clean and the machines are new, a good amount of the machines are "Temporarily Out Of Service". And the ones that do work, look to be a bit pricey. The driers work great, but I noticed that it is common practice for people to throw their dryer sheets into the lint holders. After opening the lint holder to clean it out before my load, I took out 4 dryer sheets and around 4 layers of lint. Its obvious that this area isn't managed, and the people who use it are not versed in the operation of a dryer. Not their fault, i've lived with adults who don't know that these things have lint holders, anyways. I think this should be addressed, huge fire issue, but I'm no fire marshal, so we'll let them decide.
