I cant help but feel compelled to write this review, because the staff and owner of this place are absolutely phenomenal. They make you feel beyond welcome and are so sweet. So many times you go to places and it's awkward or it's hard to relax. This was the opposite, I feel so taken care of and pampered. It is refreshing to meet staff that truly cares about your experience and customer service. Anna o. took care of my pedicure and my feet feel brand new and are glowing. Stephanie took care of me in the front and was so accommodating and welcoming. This spa is located in the Renaissance hotel. The massage service was good but the facility was below average compared to the others I have been in the area. There is nothing else to enjoy outside of the massage service. It was quick and easy since I was staying at the hotel. It cost about the same as other location but without all the bells and whistle. Can't give less than 1 star, unfortunately... Good morning! It's my wedding day! I cancelled all services for myself and ELEVEN girlfriends/family - hair, mani, pedi, waxing, massages - the whole shebang - because the owner over promised, under delivered & successfully embarrassed the dirt outta me within no time. There's no "Robert the owner" There's no "fun atmosphere" There's no returned phone calls, honored hours of operation, appointments - zero structure There's no makeup services. There's no hair services like "a blowout" isn't understood here. BUT: I cancel everything hearing there's a "Chicagoan vibe" full staff, bar, plush amenities, etc; because I buy the hype, hook line & sinker. Reality Check: There is one nail tech who triples as an esthetician & hair artist. (She shouldn't do any of these things.) There's another nail tech who just does nails, I think. (That's not a good career match, either.) Either way, the bridal party needed to go on a rotation basis. One at a time. For a bunch of bridesmaids. Everyone forgot or flatly opted out after it went from "meet at 1.30!" To "be there in 45-1.15 increments." The flower girls came out smiling, which is absolutely demanded for charging me $25/kid polish... My 11 y/o niece & I were crammed into a room. My feet were scrubbed WITHOUT WATER UNTIL I ASKED. At that point, they dunked my feet in a mopping tub - with cool water. I don't know what else to say about this... it's a Renaissance property. It's a freaking RESORT. My girls are so pissed on VACATION- it's immeasurable. It's so much money & time to stay here & we can't get our nails done correctly?!?! COME ON! Anyway: "No chip" is not a term that's recognized. The niece destroyed her manicure before she got back to her room, cried & had it removed. I saw my nails during all of this & pulled the rip cord. **there is ZERO cleanliness & zero attention to detail. My nails still had the paint from last week's premiere as she began to paint a new color. ** My toes looked like the flower girls painted them. SOMEHOW THERE IS GLITTER.‍ Ran upstairs, had my girlfriend do my hair & makeup for the dinner & began calling places to fix Spa Del Sol's errors... I'm so damn embarrassed & need to find a place to do my hair, makeup & nails today - the day of my freaking wedding. Thanks, Spa Del Sol. The whole experience did not start out right from the moment I saw a huge cock roach in the ladies change room. And although the ladies were very nice ....I felt the facility lacked many amenities to justify their prices at this particular spa. The ladies did a great job giving my husband and I a pedicure and manicure. However, when it came to my message I was extremely disappointed in the message I received at Spa del Sol. To add injury to the insult, there was no manager available to make an official complaint. It was an extremely costly experience that I did not expect from a Marriott resort affiliation!!! read more

Why are there not more reviews raving about this place? My mother and I made a trip down to Palm Springs for an R&R weekend. We originally found a mobile spa that had a great deal on Yelp. Unfortunately, timing could not be agreed upon in both parties, so we were left without no spa appointments on an R&R weekend getaway! :( I began calling up every spa nearby our hotel in Palm Springs. I called Spa Del Sol, and the owner, Robert, was very personable and helpful. We were very lucky that he was able to book us for the very next day in the early afternoon for a 50 minute aromatherapy massage. My mother and I have never had a professional massage before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I work at a vet office, and my neck and back experience tension often. I get tension headaches from the work I do. Mentioning this to my lovely masseuse, Kim, and she had a plan for what I wanted and needed. Gently guiding me step by step, I never felt uncomfortable. I chose the lavender oil for my massage, and she worked gracefully on my neck, shoulders, back, legs and feet. The music playing was gentle and soothing. At one point, I was in such a deep relaxation, that I noticed I was drooling! Needless to say, Kim worked out all the tension in my body and made me feel so at ease and happy. I had to be careful upon arising from the massage table, because I was in a state of euphoria! Kim was gentle, but firm where she needed to be. She sensed if something felt too soft or rough, and the fluidity in her motions amazed me. She is amazing!! I will certainly visit again and request for Kim. I went to Spa Del Sol yesterday and had a wonderful experience. I was in town for a conference and really didn't want to leave the conference hotel so I tried the hotel spa, despite the negative reviews below. I'm so glad I did! Sure, the spa lacks amenities like steam rooms and saunas but I truly did not miss the amenities because the services were so great. I booked a spa pedicure with Ana and an 80 min combination massage with Lydia. Both were extremely relaxing. The locker room was clean and the owner, Stephanie, made sure that I had everything I needed throughout my stay. The spa is located near the hotel pool and jacuzzi and pool bar. Sure, this spa may not have all the glamour/products as some of the 5 star spas in the area, but I really enjoyed the services and after I was done, the convenience and ease of walking up to my room after was truly priceless. If you're on the fence, give the spa a call and relay your concerns. I'm sure you will enjoy! read more

Came here to get a massage while my husband was in the same hotel at a conference & this was not my favorite massage experience. Though the facilities were very clean, and the ladies there were so friendly, I was FREEZING during the massage. They seem to put a lot into the atmosphere but not a lot into the experience. Do not go to the spa!! I booked this hotel and spa treatment for my hard working mother because she deserves it. She loved the hotel and had a great time. However, her spa treatment is what made us upset. I booked her a Swedish massage and a mini facial. When she arrived a day before her treatment she decided she did not want a facial and informed the spa that she only wanted the massage. They told her it was no problem...But then when I called to pay for her massage the person on the phone said that I would be charged for the facial regardless of if she got it or not because she did not cancel it! I asked if she could receive a different treatment and the lady said not to worry "we'll take good care of your mom and offer her any other option." But no! After the fact, I spoke with my mom and she said that she was given no other option! They told her that it's already paid for so she minus well get it. No other option offered. And then come to find out, my moms face broke out everywhere from the facial (which is why she didn't want it in the first place). There is a serious lack of communication at this location. I would highly recommend not booking a treatment here. read more

Enjoyed the 50 minute aromatherapy message. This was my first "full body" massage and I enjoyed every minute of it. The price was so reasonable and the message therapist used just the right pressure. In a word, this place is low-rent. My facial experience was subpar. The facialist did not remove my makeup at the beginning of, or during, the facials. Second, none of the steps or products were explained to me. My manicure-pedicure was decent, but the towels were old and felt like sandpaper. More generally, any conversation in any other room was perfectly audible. It's impossible to relax while hearing the front desk make sales pitches. The quality of this place is cheap, cheap, cheap. My sister and I were in Palm Springs last week and went to the Spa del Sol for a massage and facial. It was a wonderful experience. The hot stone massage was so relaxing. The masseuse was friendly and obviously experienced. The facial was the first I've ever had and now I want more. The spa is clean and comfortable. Was a little concerned when I saw so few reviews, but we booked anyway since it was a last-minute idea and they had openings. Worked with Stephanie (owner) to set an appointment up for our group. She was knowledgeable and helpful in finding a solution that met our schedule. I had a mini facial with Anna who did a very good job. My colleagues had massages, and their only bad comment was the masseuses used a little too much oil. However, they understood in the desert climate the skin just soaks it up. The staff were ready for us when we arrived. The locker room was clean and well-lit. Treatment rooms, robes, and linens were clean, too. Would use them again if we were to return to Palm Springs - especially because they were in our hotel. Incredibly convenient. read more
