The man at the front desk assured me that walk-ins are welcome and that they have an availability at the time. I was unceremoniously escorted into a room and the lady who walked in quickly ordered me to take off my clothes and waited while I did so. Lotion was vigorously scrubbed all over my body very roughly for almost an hour before she finally told me I was done. I felt like a dirty floor that has been now scrubbed clean. I very much regret that the RARE free 1 hour I had was not spent in a relaxing massage and did not result in my shoulder muscles being unknotted.

When I arrived, the check-in process was fast and smooth. The receptionist was very nice, checked my voucher, asked about my pressure preference, and showed me to a clean, private room. We arrived at our appointment time and were immediately greeted and brought to our room. The couples room has two beds on top of each other, not next to each other like I am used to. Before the massage, I asked for light pressure and to focus on my shoulders. I also was excited to add cupping! My massage therapist definitely saw the note about my shoulders, but not the note about light pressure. I had to tell her a few times to go lighter. She also did some chiropractic moves/cracks I was not prepared for. I asked to skip those after she tried to crack my neck once. I wanted more of a gentle massage, but maybe my therapist was just a little heavy handed. She did check in with me about pressure often which was appreciated, but never really consistently toned back her pressure. I loved the cupping! It felt awesome. It was also nice they offered us tea afterwards. Next time I wouldn't ask them to focus on a specific area to keep it more of a whole body massage. I wish my feet got a little more love! Once you get through the language barrier of making the appointment, I have to say it was the best 30 minute back massage I've ever gotten. In terms of the language barrier, when I was asking if I could come in right away, it felt like I didn't get a confirmation and the conversation was ended with a dead dial tone. When I called back again she did confirm that it was okay to walk in. When I got there two ladies popped out and they were nice and welcoming. You pay up front before the massage. $2 extra for credit card. Then in the massage room, the first 10 minutes is a slow build up. I felt like with the language barrier I needed to speak up more of what I preferred. So I had to mention I had a bad kink on my lower right back that I'd like her to work on. Then I had to ask for a little harder massage. She asked if I wante oil and I said yes. Then after a slower first 10 minute start I asked for more emphasis on my lower right kink on my back again. She asked if there was pain. I said yes. Then she started the magic work of bringing the hot stones as a free addition. I've never had a masseuse use all six hot stones to build up to sooth the pain on my pack before. She started with 2 then added 2 more then another 2. She lined all 6 stones in 3 rows of 2 along my spine and used the heat to sort out the kink on my lower right back. Her massage got deeper and more intense as she navigated all around my back. There was light focus on the leg and arms and no front massage in the 30 minutes but it was the perfect bit of massage I needed to feel better about my back.
