This is a really nice and welcoming spa. I took my mom here for our Mother's Day and my birthday retreat and we really enjoyed all of our services. We both had the organic foot treatment, massage, and a facial. We were greeted by a smiling face and offered refreshments. The location is very aesthetically pleasing. It is an older house that has been redone. In the bathrooms there are baskets for your clothes and you are given comfy robes and slippers. Our therapists were polite, professional, and skilled. Mike was my massage therapist and he was great! This spa provides an upscale environment and offers high level of quality services here. The prices were not cheap, but that is what is to be expected in such a nice facility. If you can afford it... this is the place to go to pamper yourself! A few things I wished were different, thus the reason for 3 stars instead of 4 or 5. 1. I would have liked a way to lock the baskets or have a secure locker so that I could have left my phone and wallet in the bathroom with my clothes. My mom and I both carried our valuables with us throughout the treatment, which was kind of a pain. Anyone could use the same bathrooms where our things were kept so it just didn't feel safe to leave our wallet, phone, etc., 2. They REALLY push the product sales here, which I found very off putting! I don't mind if someone offers me one, maybe two products that are catered to my needs but I am not exaggerating when I say they brought every product they used on both my mom and I to the front desk with the expectation for us to review them all and hopefully purchase. Not only are their products extremely expensive, that sort of approach makes me not want to purchase anything. I did end up buying an eye pillow that I loved, but I specifically chose not to purchase any of the items the esthetician put at the desk. When I bought the eye pillow the lady checking me out (who seemed to be new or having trouble) asked another lady who to give the credit to. I thought that was a little tacky. At least wait until I am gone to discuss who gets the sales commission off the product I bought. I know this is how many spas operate, but it was way over the top in a bad way. When we left the front desk had arm fulls of items to put back on the shelves. It was ridiculous. Hopefully they will see this and make some changes to how they present their sales. read more

Used to go to the location Uptown, but the Plano location is closer now (and parking is much easier to find!). They did an excellent job turning an older house into this quiet, organic spa. The ambiance is perfect & the rooms feel very private. The Juliana everyone raves about in these reviews is indeed terrific. Both locations seem to provide a good value for what you get, but I don't splurge on spa services enough to claim to be an expert. It's actually a good place for anyone new to a 'spa' experience, as they have a good menu & friendly staff (and you can book all your services online, which is so convenient). read more

I have THE best job in the world. My boss just took the entire office staff (4 girls) out for a spa treatment. We all got the hand and foot ritual and OHEMGEE. Seriously, the staff was amazingly sweet and made you feel right at home. Everything they use is totally 100% organic and vegan. I went here (Plano location) for a de-stress on a Friday afternoon back in February. It's a bit of a drive for me but I'm always willing to drive to find a good deep tissue massage. I had this and the organic foot ritual. My therapist for both treatments is the only guy in the place. He was good and I would definitely ask for him again! The only downsides about this place really are: 1) the parking is pretty much on the street unless you get the 1 spot in front of the door, and 2) my therapist is the only person there that understands that elbows should NOT be used in deep tissue. I'm so glad that I asked about this when I booked, otherwise I would have been very disappointed. I like very deep massages and it takes someone very strong who understands pressure points and how to manipulate muscles without resorting to bone on bone (uch!) kind of therapy. So, ask for the guy if you feel the same way...I forget his name but he's good and professional. The rates were all reasonable too. Not sure I would do the foot ritual again but it was nice and a good way to finish off the massage. I really liked the little warmed neck wrap they give you too the moment you walk in to the place. I'm at St. Peter's pearly gates and St. Peter has just smiled at the person in front of me and grandly passed them on through the gates. I step up and offer a half grin. "Hiya doing Pete?" "Hmmmm" he grumbles as he flicks through the pages of my life, several disturbing grunts come mangling out of his mouth. One eyebrow raises as he glances up at me, and doesn't say a word. An old police interrogation technique. "Listen, I can explain a lot of this" as I pointed at the book. "Really?" "O.K. look at this" I said as I reach over and flick a bunch of pages back and finally finding the spot. My finger on a picture of myself emerging from Spa Habitat. "See that day proves it all" I proudly explain. St. Peter doesn't appear to be having any of this and says "Really?". I again point excitedly and say "See when I emerged from THE FACIAL" St. Peter," you call it THE FACIAL?" "Yes, I came out the building there", as I jabbed at the picture "I wanted to jump into the Captain Morgan pose while singing' Shine on you Crazy Diamond, Shine on'. St. Peter " Danni you don't know the lyrics to that song, and besides what does that prove?" "Yes that's true but I was going to aggressively hum it and it proves that in that one moment when I could have shown Pride, one of the seven deadly sins I might add, I showed humility." St. Peter "Hmmmm" as he thinks things over "but you did Yelp about it and what about lack of praying?" "I yelped because I wanted to share with the good people of the Metroplex and remember a couple of months after I moved to Texas" I said as I moved a couple of the pages back and pointed to another picture "Do you remember that Hail Mary?" "Danni, you said that as you bit into your first Super Sonic Breakfast Burrito and realized it had jalapenos in it." "Yes, but I was fresh from Boston and I wasn't used to jalapenos with my breakfast food back then, and I really meant that Hail Mary." St. Peter "Well..." and gives me a dismissive nod. I was in constant, severe back pain for months & I had a facial with Juliana that brought tears to my eyes. It was the best I'd felt in months. This was about 2 years ago & it left a lasting imprint. I found out yesterday that the credit card I gave to the receptionist was only to hold the appointment (something was never explained to me), and my mother had to pay for her own Mother's Day gift. Didn't love it. The staff was nice and welcoming but the massage was just average. I asked for firm pressure but did not get it and my husband felt like his massage was basically just a lotion application. We also got the foot treatment in copper bowls and while I like the idea it seemed a little unorganized and was not deep tissue enough for my likes. All if this would have been acceptable except it was expensive and not worth the additional cost. I do like the organic and all natural aspect but that's where it ends for me. My BFF gave me a gift certificate for $150 to have a service at Spa Habitat. I've had many, many massages so its hard not to compare one from another. I decided to go to the Flagship loc as closest to my house. I went Fri afternoon and couldn't wait to get an 80 min massage. Unfortunately, after being on the table for 20 min I wanted to jump off and leave. Rubbing the same area over and over to the point that it was annoying....ugh! I could go on and on, but no point in that. I told the gal up front that it was just ok, and gave her some examples, but I guess customer satisfaction isn't that important as no offer for a discount or anything. I asked if the lady was new but she actually has been there over 2 years. Honestly, I've had better massages at O.D. Wellness for 1/3 of the price. read more

This place is wonderful. My husband took me here a couple weeks ago. Is was a surprise and on top of that my first time to a spa. The ladies that work there are great. They are nice and very polite. I love the feel of the place when you walk in. It has a very homey and welcoming feeling (and yes I know the spa is in a house, but not all homes are welcoming). They don't bother selling you products if you don't want to be bothered with that stuff. They respect your wishes. I will be back soon. I had a great time there. read more

First time to enjoy the massage service in this beautiful farm house in downtown Plano. The environment is most relaxing with music, soft lights, drinks and warm neck pillow prior to the massage. I highly recommend Spa Habitat The Retreat! As you enter the spa, which is in an historic house, you are greeted by the receptionist. You notice that the atmosphere is relaxing and soothing. There is soft music playing, and the receptionist offers you water and a warm neck wrap while you wait to be called in for your massage. Your massage therapist greets you warmly. You change into a fluffy robe and spa slippers. You go into your room (ask for Earth--it's the best room) and have your massage, and then you feel wonderful and relaxed. I had Alex for my massage therapist, and he was wonderful. He is friendly and welcoming, and his massage is just the right amount of pressure. He does both an excellent deep tissue and a fantastic signature swedish massage (the swedish will not have as much pressure as a deep tissue because the deep tissue is a separate service). And his foot ritual is to die for! Make sure you schedule time for a foot ritual. You haven't experienced pampering until you have had this service! You have a foot soak, a foot scrub, and a foot massage with a luxurious cream. Heavenly! Also, the scents and products change with the seasons, so you feel summery, wintery, etc, depending on what time of year you go. I had a hard time leaving after my massage. I just wanted to stay and enjoy the relaxing environment. The Retreat is a very peaceful place, and does feel very much like a retreat, refreshing you to go out again and meet the world. read more

My husband gave me a great package which he purchased at Spa Habitat for my birthday this year. It included their natural facial, body wrap, foot massage - the whole enchilada. After the supposedly all-natural facial, my face dried up and started peeling the next day. When we asked the facialists what happened, she said that she has no idea - she used all organic products. The owner tried convincing me that all her products were great and that she doesn't know what happened to me. She said that perhaps the facialists left the products on too long. Ouch! I was very upset, especially since we paid upwards of $400 for the entire package. My face was peeling and dry - looking 10-years older and Spa Habitat didn't even care. That is horrible customer service and irresponsiblity. I am not going there ever again, no matter how "organic" and "natural" their products are. I'd recommend having a good talk to them if you even consider going there, to ask what will be used and what are possible side-effects. Ouch, ouch, ouch. Really bad birthday experience. read more

I had my treatment at the Legacy location in Plano.Oh my goodness this place is wonderful! My sweet husband bought me the Green Freak package for my Christmas gift and I came in today for my spa day, What a day it was! My package was a full day of spa which was 5 hours and included lunch. I really can't say enough good things about my package, the therapist, the service and the entire experience. My massage therapist was Tiana, she was excellent! I've had massages all over the world and this girl she is right up there as one of my top 3 best massages EVER! We started out with the all over body scrub which was a first for me and one I will definitely be doing again, LOVED it! Then on to my massages, again Tiana was so, so good! She worked my areas of concern over really well, and gave me a wonderful massage experience. Then I had a break and was served a very nice lunch, which was delicious and not too filling. Then I went into my facial which was with Mz Shelby, this girl is adorable, sweet and just an all around wonderful human being! She gave me a top notch facial that I highly recommend! After my facial, I had a full foot treatment with Mz Dana, again another wonderful experience from an amazing staff and wonderful service. I really cannot express how much I enjoyed my day and my spa experience here. My husband out did himself with this gift! I am a very pleased and happy wife. Wonderful, wonderful gift! Then in walks in an angel.. Nancy. From the moment she shook his hand, he knew he wad hooked. It takes a special person to have a the gift to see into your soul & know what ails you. I just left Spa Habitat , I had their signature organic massage. I have never been so relaxed.. it was such a pampering experience. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to treat and pamper themselves. Some salons and spas can feel a little snobby ..not this place. Everyone was so warm and welcoming. Fabulous! Had the Signature Massage and Facial today and am completely destressed, mentally and physically! I happened to Spa Habitat on a gift card from a friend and am pleasantly surprised at what they offer. Location is great, parking is a bit tight but that's the ONLY negative I can say. Alex and Robyn were both incredible. I've never received a massage like what Alex gave....very attentive and listened to where my trouble spots were and took good care to eliminate them. I have had neck surgery and am always hesitant to allow someone to touch my neck/shoulders but Alex was a pro. All my tightness is gone. Robyn did such a wonderful job on my face; I feel like I have new skin! And she was very informative on what products to use/avoid without trying to sell me on any one item. Came here for a couple's massage and had a wonderful experience. Very relaxing and soothing.

I left here feeling really relaxed, but I don't think the facial that I got was worth $135. And then when I left, the receptionist harassed me for a gratuity. I'm a licensed massage therapist myself and I think that that was extremely rude and way too aggressive. Saying "would you like to leave a gratuity" is way different than "how would you like to leave your gratuity." read more

The Victorian home on a shady street is a very nice, relaxing venue. Much better than a strip mall. The facial was nice and my skin was glowing afterward, but I didn't get any steam extractions and it didn't seem very long for the price I paid. But my gripe is that the entire time I was getting the facial I was constantly told about the 7 different products that were being massaged into my face. The products seemed to duplicate each other and didn't make sense - why would I need multiple moisturizers and multiple exfoliants? So it wasn't relaxing and quiet at all. I don't want to have a chatty conversation while I'm getting a facial. And then when I checked out they had a big hard sell with all of these duplicating, extremely expensive, extremely small products lined up for me to buy. Very annoying. I never did understand what any of them really did because there were so many of them. read more
