I came here for a bachelorette party with five girls, our appointments were spread out between three hours, we scheduled two pedicures since we were the last appointments. When I checked with the receptionist at the time our pedicures were scheduled, she was flustered and said they had received a lot of walk-ins, and would let us know if they had time to get to us. 20 minutes later she came to our waiting room to let us know they would not be able to fit us in. Our waiting room was on the cooler side and there was a fireplace/space heater in the room that we were told was okay to turn on. However, once a masseuse (Nicki) came for my appointment, she told us we needed to turn it off and did not provide any explanation why. The massage table was heated and three blankets were placed on top of me for my massage. I let her know I was feeling a little hot, and she made a snarky remark that it was probably because I insisted on having the heater on in the waiting room. We had to fill out a questionnaire prior to the appointment, asking what level of pressure we would like and I put medium-deep but once I was already in the room on the table ready for my massage, she let me know if I wanted a deep tissue massage it would be an extra $20 which was not listed online and the 60 minute massages were already $90. My introduction to the appointment probably made it worse but it was a very boring 'massage' she did not use her fingers or thumbs, she just applied a lot of pressure with her palms. Some of the girls got facials and said they had a better experience, but considering the cost and lack of professionalism from the staff, I would hope to save another group their time and money. I do have to follow up with a shout out to Thai Royal Massage. We did not have our appointment scheduled weeks in advance, we called about an hour before but when we arrived, they had cleared an entire room and set up for our group. It was very peaceful and relaxing. We only paid for a foot massage, but they still gave a neck/shoulder massage and the price was way less. I do not live in Arizona, but if I did I would be going there again. read more

I've come here twice before and had good experiences - once with a pedicure and another time with a gel removal. I called today hoping I could pop in for a walk-in appointment. I was told it would be about 30 minutes from my phone call to get in, so I killed some time and headed in. When I checked in I was told another 15 or so. Totally fine as I was a walk in. Then more time kept going by and the entrance was getting chaotic. Girls were stacking up to check in and it seemed like at least 5 people were super delayed for their appointments. I was getting stressed watching how disorganized it seemed and started to wonder when I would be seen as the math of waiting clients and nails techs wasn't aligning. The girl next to me also expressed her annoyance as her appt was now about 25 min delayed. Finally I decided to say something (had now been an hour past my original call in) and she seemed frazzled and confused about who I was. I was told I might be able to be squeezed in but would have to keep waiting. Maybe if she wasn't taking a personal call on her airpods the whole time she would've kept us straight. It's a beautiful, intimate relaxing experience from the time you walk in until you leave. There are so many massages and facials to choose from, and you can add aromatherapy and scented, whipped lotion to your massage experience. *Mimosas/drinks and snacks are complimentary! I chose the Signature Massage and added a Hot Coconut Oil Scalp Massage for an additional $10 to my service. It was a full-body, medium pressure massage that was everything I needed to relax. I would give this place four stars if it weren't for Brook, and if I were just rating Brook I would only give her one star. I first started going here when my guy who I had been a loyal client to for four years started working here... Unfortunately he moved to a salon that is way out of my price range and I could no longer afford to continue seeing him. So after he left, the next time I went back here the owner did my nails. She did a great job, and continuously asked me if I was happy with the way she was doing things. She even gave me a hand massage, which is the first time anyone has done that since I started getting artificial nails. However, she doesn't do intricate nail art, which is something I get done regularly. I was told that Brook is the one there who does designs, and that she could do any design I wanted. While the owner was still doing my nails, Brook was at the next station and defended my nail guy when I said he costs more at his new salon, saying that nail techs can't dictate the prices they charge. I told her that I completely understood this, but just could not afford his new rates. She then said "So start coming to me and I'll take care of you". So I went to her the next time, and right off the bat she asked me if I had tried to work out a lower price with my guy who switched salons. I was confused, since she defended him the last time I was there, claiming that he had no control over the prices. She then made me feel very uncomfortable the whole time she was doing my nails, like I had to watch every single thing I said to her. For example, I asked her to cut my nails as short as possible... She made them shorter but not anywhere near as short as possible, and then started putting designs on them. When I very nicely and even apologetically said that I was sorry if I wasn't clear or perhaps even forgot to ask her to make them as short as possible, she snapped at me, explaining exactly how and why she knew this, and that she wasn't done cutting them shorter. I then very nicely acknowledged her affirmation, and simply explained how my guy cut them down earlier in the process so that's why I thought maybe she would do the same. Then there was the "design", or lack thereof... The design I wanted had cellophane strips going down the middle of the nails, and she assured me that she had done that design many times and knew exactly how to do it. Only, after spending a good 20 minutes of cutting out all of the strips, sealing them on my nails with polish, and then attempting to drill off the top layer of the polish, she drilled off all of the cellophane. She then said, without asking me what she could do instead, that she was simply going to I just put chrome on all of my nails. If I hadn't already grown impatient from all of the time she spent trying to make the foil work and if she haven't been continuously defensive about literally just about everything I said, I would have insisted that she do something different. I didn't drive 30 minutes to go to her especially for her design work only to not get any designs on my nails. But as she continued doing my nails, every so often I very nicely asked if she were going to do certain things I had requested and that I was simply just checking because my regular guy did things in a different order, she finally went off on me and said "Why don't you just go follow [Insert my old nail guy's name] since you can't stop talking about him?" At this point I started thinking perhaps there was a language barrier, since I said nothing whatsoever that could have possibly been interpreted as a critique of her work. I told her that she must have been misunderstanding things, and I was not saying what I said about my old guy to compare him to her, but simply to try to understand her process and order for how she did things. But this seemed to fly right past her, and she then proceeded to tell me how when her favorite hairstylist moved across town and started charging significantly more, she was willing to travel however far and pay however much it cost to continue seeing that hairstylist, and that therefore I should travel and pay however much was necessary for me to continue to see my guy. So while she assured me that she would "take care of me" with comparable designs, not only did I not get any designs, but I got a whole lot of attitude and very rude assumptions about my finances and what I can afford. One of the last things she said is that there needs to be a good fit between the nail tech and the client... I am baffled as to what kind of client considers themselves to be a good fit with her! read more

Wasn't impressed. Scheduled a same day appointment for my mom and I for a regular manicure for me and a regular pedicure for her. The receptionist told us they had availability at 2:30, so that's when we arrived. It was a full waiting room, so we knew it would probably be a minute until we were taken back. 30 minutes later, my mom is taken back. An HOUR and 20 minutes later, I was taken back. Walk-in customers were let back before me, as well as customers with appointments for later times. Extremely disappointing. My mom's pedicure and my manicure were alright, nothing amazing. My husband said his facial was great. With my services, I had a combo facial and massage. I was upset that I had to change rooms for the services. I came to relax not jump around from room to room. If I would have known that I would not have booked a combo. My massage therapist was popping her knuckles during my massage when she was as using her elbows and forearms. Very annoying and not relaxing at all. I requested for no scalp massage because I don't like getting the oil all over in my hair. She poured the hot oil out of the bottle all over my back and it ran over my shoulders and neck and drenched my hair. Would have been fine if there was a place to take a shower like in a normal spa. She never touched the front of my legs. I thought it was a full body massage? Then when I had to change rooms for my facial the lady starts by telling me she sprained her wrist and "let's see how this goes". It was terrible. No extractions, used maybe 3 different items on my face, didn't cover my eyes before turning on the bright light to give me an assessment of my skin. She spent more time massaging my body mainly with her left hand since her sprained right wrist was not 100%. Worst facial I've ever had. This is totally ridiculous that this place is called a spa. The hallway is noisy. It's not a relaxing environment at all. No place to shower to get all the excess oil off. I would never recommend this place to anyone. The only reason I gave a 1 and not a 0 is because my husband enjoyed his facial and it won't let me leave 0. This place had to be a massage envy before, now it's spa serene with massage envy feel and ridiculous prices. I don't understand how this establishment has 5 stars on Yelp. read more

Hidden gem! My husband and I are in town and he wanted to add another tee time last minute. I called Serene the day before and they were able to schedule me in for a morning apt the next day. I had the winter special with a prenatal upgrade, and Angela did an amazing job! Very thorough and caring and adjusted to fit my pressure preferences perfectly. The spa is hidden away in a little business park, it's a quiet and very relaxing atmosphere. Definitely recommend it if you're looking for a really great massage in a relaxed, low key environment. Totally a late review but we got a couples massage here back in May when we were on a mini-vacay. The staff was so sweet, prices reasonable and great massages! My husband and I are visiting Scottsdale and were looking for a place to get a massage while on vaca. I searched yelp and saw this business and the 5 star reviews caught my attention. We walked in and were greeted by a friendly receptionist giving us some paperwork to fill out. The ambience when we first walked in was great, but the fact that we had to fill out our paperwork standing, (there were no chairs) totally threw me off. Anyhow - we were told to wait in the waiting room. It was filled with snacks and flavored water which was a nice touch. My massage therapist came in to get me to take me back to the room - I was confused as to why my husbands therapist wasn't there since we were doing a couples massage. I told her that when we called we asked for a couples massage. She was confused but quickly got our room together. We get into the massage room and I explained to my massage therapist my problem areas and that I was looking for more of a relaxing massage. Well long story short - that's not what I got. I can go on and on about my experience but to be honest, I don't want to make this a super long review. One of my problem areas I specifically came in for was worse when all was said and done. There was a lot of weird pinching going on and pressure that made me really tense. She told me that she was going to work on my feet and put a hot towel on my back to help me relax since i was so tense. She did just that - the only problem was that 2 min after she placed it, I was left with a wet cold towel on me for a good 15 minutes ‍. At this point - I was over it. I was so upset and frustrated I just kept my mouth shut while being asked if everything was okay. It gets better. After the massage I went to use the restroom and when I came out my husband had already taken care of the bill. He informed me after we walked out that THEY CHARGED US $20 FOR A COUPLES ROOM!!!!! What???? How ridiculous. Super disappointing in my experience. I feel bad writing this review because She really tried to help me the best she could but ended up making me worse than when I came in. read more

We then made our way to the couples room. They had it set up so cute and romantic. Was exactly what we were wanting to treat ourselves to. I had the light touch massage, with aromatherapy, and the foot scrub, HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I have Fibromyalgia so any harsh touch can trigger serious pain and discomfort. When I booked my appointment, I selected an incorrect date, and the young lady at the desk helped me set up a same day appointment. She was very nice and accommodating. The Spa was ambient, clean, and the staff wore masks throughout the sessions. Ravena did my facial and she was amazing. So easy to talk to and gave advice and feedback on my treatment.
