I went to Spa Restoration Head Center in Falls Church and honestly it was a really nice experience. It took me a minute to find the place because my GPS was a little off, but it's in that tan/brown building and there's free parking in the back which was super helpful. Mandy greeted me when I walked in and I had my appointment with Kelly. It was my first time doing anything like this so I didn't really know what to expect, but they explained everything before starting which made me feel comfortable. The lymphatic massage at the beginning was actually really relaxing. I didn't realize how much I would like that part. Then they did the scalp treatment and the room was really calm with soft lighting and music. I did the 90 minute bronze session. It included scalp steaming, washing, conditioning, and a really good head massage. They also did a little arm massage which I wasn't expecting. The scalp evaluation might make you a little squeamish if you're easily grossed out, but in my opinion it's worth it to compare it to the results afterward. The camera of the scalp is both grotesque and satisfying and certainly eye opening. If we spend so much on facials and massages or other self care, which do we so willingly avoid the scalp!? Idk I guess because it's hard to see and often painstaking to try to treat without hurting your arms straining your neck and having the patience of the Dalai Lama. Just Trust me and book this experience asap. I walked in with what I thought was clean hair (I washed it the night before) and left with a scalp that was bright and tingly and hair cleaner than I have ever had it. The spa experience includes many washes, rinses, brushes, massages, water jets, and steam. The location makes their own Chinese herbal tea to use to wash the hair and it smells delightful. The shampoos, conditioners and leave in treatments smelled of tea tree and lemongrass and penetrated deep with a good tingly effect. It was stronger than expected but didn't make my eyes water or skin sensitive. They swear by using all natural ingredients. I had always wanted to do a head spa, and I found this little hidden gem! I did the 90min bronze package with Kelly which consisted of a 60min head spa and a 30 min mini facial. I LOVED everything about this package and would 1000% do it again. The head spa was so relaxing and your scalp with be SQEAKY clean after! My friend and I came here for a 90-minute herbal scalp treatment. I'm not sure if they evaluated our scalp but if they did, they did not mention anything to us. The scalp massage and acupressure were a bit on the harder side, which I personally enjoyed, and felt refreshed. The head spa machine they used is quite loud and beeps at certain times. They do offer other massages and services, but I didn't try those. tl;dr if you're looking for the head spa experiences that are blowing up on tiktok of nyc head spas, this place will fall short. for what they do offer, they do a great job though. I just don't think it's worth $79, pre-tip. The 60 min head spa is predominantly hair washing with scalp massages along the way. I didn't get the same experience as some other reviewers where they had a consultation. I was told the different things they were going to do and then led directly to the back without any personalization. The different things they did were centered around the hair, not the scalp as much as I was expecting, so my scalp doesn't really feel much cleaner than it was before. I didn't love the shoulder and neck massage. I get a lot of body massages, so I might be pickier than the average. I didn't find shoulder/neck massage portion to be relaxing, just a little rough and pinchy. With all that said, everyone was pleasant, the ambiance was very warm and inviting, and they delivered on everything they said they would, it just wasn't for me. Scheduling is a little weird too. You only request an appointment online, so my request was confirmed 2 days before but then canceled 1am the day of because they were double booked. A friend and I visited Spa Restoration Center for a couple's head spa appointment a month or two ago, and I have mixed feelings about our experience. What wasn't so great? The reservation system was wild. I used the "Book an Appointment" link on their website, and they texted me a few days later. The texting was confusing. They texted me that the time I preferred (you suggest some times when you used the "Book an Appointment" link on their website) and offered another time. (They didn't identify themselves in that initial text so I had to ask who was texting me.) I said the time they offered was fine, but they didn't confirm. So I texted back, asking if it was confirmed, and they responded the next day that the time they had offered was no longer available. They offered another time that was too late for us, so then they offered another time. I said yes to this time, and this time we were confirmed for an appointment. Then a few days later, they texted and said that they had booked us for the wrong appointment type (massage rather than head spa) and asking if we could reschedule to earlier, so we moved our appointment to this time. Then, we arrived and we weren't even in the same room (rather than being in a couple room, we were in separate rooms, not together). This happened to another group that had booked a couple's appointment while we were there. So, they definitely have a problem with bookings right now. We definitely didn't start off on the right foot with the booking process. What was good? The price for the head spa is way more affordable than the other head spa experience I've had ($79 for 60 minutes), but it was also way less custom than the more expensive experience I've had. I've always had problems with scalp and am very interested in head spas. The experience at Spa Restoration Center was pretty basic, but I left with a very clean scalp and hair - and very relaxed to boot. I'd call the head spa service at Spa Restoration Center a deep clean shampoo and massage more than a custom head spa experience, but I still really appreciated it. Great value. I cannot recommend the head spa experience here enough- it was SO relaxing! My husband and I did the couple's head spa, which was in a private room in the back. The first part was a scalp massage that felt incredible, it honestly felt like it lasted the whole hour. The technicians then spent a good amount of time washing our hair and brushing it in specific directions. The experience also included a brief shoulder/chest massage, and a quick blow dry at the end. My scalp felt incredible and my hair was SO soft afterwards. I had Kelly as my technician, who did an amazing job! I will say that the space is not the most luxurious ever- we could hear some talking in other rooms and the door opening/closing a few times, and the head spa machines made a few noises over the course of the treatment. There is a machine in the waiting room where you can see your scalp before and after treatment with a camera wand- we got to do it before but not after our treatment (which was a little bit of a bummer). Took my sister here for her birthday and gave her the diamond package. We had seen a lot of videos on TikTok and were so excited to try it out. The minute we went in it smelled like pee. I checked in and they had my sister moved to three different rooms like if they did not know where to put her. And then I reminded them that she has a diamond package. The lady told me "why didn't you tell us?" Like if it was my job to remind them when she should have known once I checked her in? Once they found out, she was a diamond package. They completely changed the way they treated us and said they will put her in the best room to take care of her. My sister enjoyed part of the massage /treatment but definitely does not recommend doing it for three hours as it is overstimulating. Towards the end, they blow dry your hair and show you your scalp. They do a very basic blow dry with their hands. She told them to stop so that she could properly wash and do her hair at home. Reina my therapist was excellent: kind, conscientious and considerate asking if pressure and water were to my liking. I was concerned the products (ginger mint sh/cond) would be too drying for my frizzed-out hair, but the tingly sensation was so soothing and went perfectly w massage and water flowing from all around my head and chest. I brought my own hair oil but they had their own products as well. They will dry your hair after too! The $79 is discounted as they are just opened but prices may go up soon. She scanned our scalps before our Head Spa treatment. We were able to see so much dryness and buildups on our scalps. Then we went into the room. The vibes were VIBING! The room was clean, table was comfortable, music was perfect, and the projector with the northern lights were *chef's kiss*. My masseuse did a really great job massaging my head and neck! I was super relaxed and comfortable the whole time. after the treatment, we got our hair dried and they scanned our scalps again. We were able to see how much clearer, more moist, and less buildup! I'm giving Spa restoration center a four out of five stars because they did do exactly what they promote which is an Asian spa head massage. However, it wasn't as relaxing or luxurious as I was hoping for. The machine they use was louder than expected (unless mine was broke) at certain times so it was hard to fully relax and it does speak randomly in Japanese or Korean. The head massage feels great and they do it for a long time. The only thing I would change is that they massage the front of your next with the water and I didn't see the point in that. Water was just going on my face. That I felt could be left out or massaged with oil instead of water. The staff is super friendly and nice. Even though it's not a high end spa, it was very clean and welcoming. It's a good price point so def worth trying out. read more
