Anyway, we still walked in and got the massages done and it was terrible. The person who did it seemed like he never did a massage in his life as he was really trying to figure out what to do with my body and I'm only 175lbs 6'1". My wife had the same kind of experience. I had a delightful day at Spa World. We booked 3 massages in advance (called around 4 days ahead). The ladies Bade pool and saunas were open. The men's jacuzzis and saunas were open, but the bade pool wasn't. Everything was wonderful and the massage was fantastic. I'm reviewing both the food and spa experience I had. The food was really good, we were really surprised! It was fresh and very flavorful. There is a lot of seating in the restaurant area although I found it nasty they tell you not to wear shoes in the restaurant, we obviously broke the rules because wtf that's sick. Cheap spa date with girlfriends or your significant other? Yes please! Best things about this place: Cheap way to get a spa day without breaking the bank...and it's open 24-7. This place has it all. You pay a one time fee and are given 24 hour access. This place has a small gym for the workout guru's, food (a Korean 'restaurant' & snack bar), kid play area, free wifi, massages, and poultice rooms. For those of you who don't know what poultice rooms are, they are basically themed rooms that are designed to improve your internal body (i.e. clay room, amethyset room, salt room, oak room, ice room, etc.)....it is a Korean spa after all, hence the "Asian remedy room" Note to Newcomers: The bade pool requires you to be completely nude so if you are uncomfortable in your body, this place might not be the best choice. Personally, the bade pool is my favorite because the differently placed jets are like massaging different parts of your body. It's def worth a visit! read more

I came here with some friends for a Friday spa night and had a great experience! The facilities were cleaner and quieter than I expected based on the reviews I had read. It was a lot emptier than I expected for a Friday night, but I guess most people prefer to go during the day on weekends. The ladies' locker room was spacious and clean. The locker room attendant was in charge of the sign-ups for body scrubs and massages, and we each signed up for a 25 min body scrub for $55. The massage/scrub area was located inside the bade pool room (attached to the locker room) and it was definitely a no frills type of facility. The massage tables were made of plastic that they cleaned with giant buckets of water and were only spaced around a foot away from each other - be prepared to get super cozy with your friends. The scrub itself was very thorough and vigorous, and it left my skin feeling super soft afterwards. My only gripe was that they didn't really scrub the bottoms of our feet. After our body scrubs, we enjoyed a delicious meal at the sit-down Korean restaurant in the spa. We ordered family style and everything we had was delicious. I'd recommend the rabboki (spicy rice cakes with ramen noodles) and the stews. Pro tip - bring your own sheet face masks to wear in the poultice rooms. The heat will help your skin absorb the masks better, and it's a lot cheaper than buying the masks in the locker rooms. We capped off the night by going back in the bade pool room and taking a super quick plunge in the 55 degree pool. It'll be painful, but just go in and come out before your brain fully registers the freezing sensation. Your body will feel super refreshed and tingly afterwards. It's a spa! If you have to limit one towel per customer, maybe it's time to get some more towels. Also please train your staff (a Hispanic lady at the counter in the women sauna) to not yell at your paying customers. I was taking two towers for me and my husband for the common room, she saw me taking two just started yelling at me. I was extremely embarrassed and I was even trying to explain to her the towel was for me and my husband, not even only for myself. Unfortunately the lady continued to be very loud and disrespectful, told me she doesn't care who it was for just "one only because I don't care about other customers". There were a ton available. I purchased a Groupon for a massage. Upon entering the establishment, the front desk workers were rude and had a nasty attitude. The locker room was unsanitary and smelly. The massage area was unwelcoming and the massage was below average and lacked technique. Also, they begged for a tip, after giving me a subpar massage. The tips are supposed to be included with the service, according to the signs posted around the building. When I tried to pay for my service and leave, the front desk worker refused to give me the key to my locker because I did not want to tip for a horrible massage. After exchanging words, we had to take the key from the worker in order to get our items. From the lack of customer service to the unsanitary conditions and human trafficking vibe, this was a supremely terrible experience. Beware and go at your own risk. Okay. So LA people, read this before you go here. We took a red eye last night from LA to DC, and I was dying for a soak and a long massage, so I decided to make the drive from Takoma Park, MD to Centreville, VA to Spa World, which is about 20 miles but took me more than an hour during rush hour. I am a Korean spa aficionado, but this experience left me underwhelmed. The prices at Spa World are outrageous. The facility itself is nothing out of the ordinary (on a par with Wi Spa) Expect to pay a $40 entrance fee. In my experience that's on the high side, and they don't waive it. I have been to almost every Korean spa in Los Angeles, OC, and San Diego, and I have rarely seen an entrance fee in excess of $25. Also, in LA if you spend more than $50 to $100 in services (depending on the facility) they always waive the entrance fee. So just to get in the door it was $40. Okay, now for the services. The rule of thumb as far as massages are concerned is approximately $1/minute. I usually go to an Aveda-inspired K-spa in LA called Crystal Spa, and a two-hour combo massage is $120 and no extra entrance fee. I noticed that the services were a little more expensive at Spa World, and I was fine with that. So how much was it? A two-hour combo massage and a bowl of dumpling soup in the restaurant ended up costing me almost $300 (including tip). The massage was serviceable but nothing to write home to mother about. My conclusion: You're better off not coming here if you're accustomed to our awesome K Spas in LA. Comparatively speaking, it's expensive and far away, and meh. If you've never been to a K Spa, go ahead and give it a try, I suppose, but just know that this place is really expensive. read more

I love going to spas, the ambiance, the pampering, and most of all the relaxation. This place just didn't cut it for me. This place? Has a mish mosh of services and it's like an a la cart kind of experience. You pick and choose what you want. I was shocked that if you came here with an appointment for a massage, you will still need to pay the entrance fee? Seriously? I frequent high end spas and I was shocked. I felt like they were trying to squeeze as much out of me as they could. The place is clean and well maintained. The idea of a spa is pampering. Staff isn't friendly. And it's like pulling teeth to get info how this place operates and where things are located. They say"just follow the signs, they are everywhere." The only time I saw a smile was when my masseuse asked if I wanted to tip. As for affordability, if you come in for a 30 minute massage $65, add $40 admission its kinda pricey... Sure you can use all the facilities but most high end spas, for example Burke Williams includes use of their facilities if your have a massage appointment. They do have a restaurant. I found their prices comparable to most places and the quality was good. The only way I'd come back is with a Groupon. Otherwise it's not worth it unless you just want to spend the day in the poultice rooms and hot tubs. If your comfortable with nudity, this is your place. Everyone is naked. Even little kids are running around naked? Parents seem pretty alert and on their kids behavior I must admit. This establishment says they are family friendly. read more

This place has gone downhill in recent years. I used to come here often before 2020. Just started going again a few months ago. Poultice rooms and bade pool are good for relaxing. Restaurant is just ok. Customer service and staff attitude is usually poor. Massages are pretty good but also come with a bad attitude and the reason I left 2 stars instead of 3. The massage ladies can be pushy when it comes to tips. I usually tip a little more than 20% yet instead of just saying thanks, they act like "oh, thats all?". Sometimes they will straight up say "oh thats all you want to tip?" other times they'll just keep asking you several times "oh so how much you want to tip?" in a tone that sounds disappointed, and other times they'll just give you this "shame on you" look. I have to admit it worked on me the first time because I upped my tip amount thinking it was low. But then the next time, I offered the upped amount from before and got the same reaction. I quickly realized after my third massage, this is their standard procedure no matter how much I offered. The biggest issue with that for me isn't adding $5 to the tip, its the fact that when I go someplace to relax, I don't want to be mentally tense either feeling like I got hustled or guilt tripped. I love this place. It's like, an Adult, Korean, Nude version of Disney Land for the ubber stressed out. I love everything about this place, except maybe for that not so fresh feeling I get from the jumpsuits you HAVE to wear in the sauna....I just can't get over knowing someone else wore the same get-up for god knows how long, while oozing toxins were absorbed from their skin in the SAME fabric that is now sitting on my body....gag..bleh...uuuggghhh.... $35 for all day pass to nude pools, steam rooms, & not so nude Korean food, mud room, and saunas. I had a great time with my friend! We had never gone to a spa before so had no idea what to expect or do but everything was fun! The pool was clean the saunas has options for everyone and we did it all! After all that fun you get kind of hungry and Spa World has you covered, they have a Korean restaurant and the soup was so good. Come here during a rainy/snowy/crappy weather day. This spa rules. Before my affair with Spa World, bathhouses weren't even on my radar. Now this love has bloomed to what will be regular outings to Centerville, simply for that gorgeous glowy feeling I get from a day at the spa. Don't treat this place like a typical spa. It's a Korean spa that serves Pocari Sweat and is less concerned with how you look while unclothed than making you feel balanced and back to yourself again. Often unmentioned is the inexpensive cost of coming here. Sure, you might have to rent a zipcar, but typical you are looking at spending only $35 dollars for a day playing in warm pools, getting a massage, or just relaxing and watching a soccer game at their lounge area. I've been too fancier establishments for spa days and ended up replacing my good glowy feeling with guilt for spend $200+ for only a couple of hours. I frequent Spa World quite a bit and I've done almost everything there (gym, sauna, massage restaurant & scrub). I typically enjoy the quality of service I get there. But this time I was very disappointed. I booked a body scrub, which I do often a few days after a shave or wax, especially during the winter. This scrub was the worst experience ever. This woman literally scrubbed me until i ended up with small scratches everywhere that burn. My skin had red blotches all over where she had gone overboard with the scrubbing. I told her she was hurting me to ease up and she just giggled and kept scrubbing. When I was done even the water touching me burned the scratches. When I complained about it at the front desk, It was a "I'm sorry" followed by no action. And of course I was expected to pay for the torture. So it goes without saying I will never be getting a scrub at Spa World ever again. I read a lot about Korean Spas online, on these types of review sites before finally getting up the nerve to go. I only finally went because there was a Groupon for a reasonable deal to go. It was a great opportunity to try out this place. The pools were nice and clean. The front desk service was nice, but the other staff (at least those I came in contact with) barely spoke English, which added a little complexity to asking questions. Just recently went yesterday for my birthday!!! I had a wonderful first experience!! I like that you have free Admissions for your birthday which is very nice! I got the Salt Scrub which was 25 minutes and I really love it!! Dana did such a great job and I felt so relaxed!! The blade pool area was very nice but BEWARE people are naked!!! You don't have to be you can wear a swim suit as an option if you don't feel comfortable. You can have your phone out on the blade pool side because of privacy. But can bring your camera out on the other side where the saunas are because everyone is clothed. My favorite Sauna is the one with the beads on the floor. So relaxing!! The food was good as well I had picked the Chicken Teriyaki dish and a Mango Smoothie! My overall experience was 10/10. I will come back. Also,for those with little ones they have a little kids room so they can play while you relax. I also saw a kids pool in the blade pool too. Today however my wife got a massage, and the masseuse demanded a tip, and would not let my wife out unless a cash tip was paid. I have been coming to Spa World for about the last 7 years, with my girlfriends and my family. The last time we came was right before the pandemic. It was always a place we would go on holidays because we could do it as a family, it was always relaxing, and we looked forward to the food. We went this past Valentine's Day and I'm sad to say I was very disappointed. I purchased 3 Groupon's and made our appointments for massages. That was easy and the massages were excellent as usual. After our massage, we went to eat and I'm glad we did because the kitchen closes at 730 and so does the snack bar. I don't remember them closing so early, especially the snack bar, you can't get a drink or anything after 730, weird. The food made my husband sick, which we have not had a problem in the past. The attendant at the snack bar was extremely RUDE. My husband ordered hot tea, and wanted cream/sugar to go in it and she said her boss said she cannot give any, and had a bad attitude when I asker her about something also. She had a shirt on that says "I don't care" and that was VERY clear. He had to go into the restaurant and ask the girl to translate so she could understand and tell her to give it to him. There used to be TV's in front of the snack bar when relaxing, and they were all gone? We had a good run with spa world, but probably wont be going back. Its just not the same experience. read more

SpaWorld has really gone downhill. I visited today and several jets in the pools were out, the poultice rooms had tiles missing from the ceiling, and they have two broken red couches. Even worse, they didn't open for dining at 4pm like the sign says. I was asked to come back at 4:30. I did, ordered my food, and had to wait 53 minutes for it to be prepared. A great place to relax and get rid of your jet lag. My friend B. took me here last weekend and we had a very nice time. The check-in was easy and the guys at the front desk friendly and helpful. There were maybe 20 women in total in the pool area, so it was not crowded at all and were able to use all the different pools at any time. I also opted for a body scrub. The Asian lady was a bit hard to understand but she did a great job. My skin was super soft afterward. After enjoying the pools, we also spent some time in the Amethyst room and the Ice room which was an interesting experience. I would totally come back here. read more

Some people think nude spa definitely not! But once you see everyone naked it's no big deal! The coed saunas offer various styles of heat to soothe and 'treat' different ailments. The juice bar is one of my favorites. Love the bobo tea. The food is really good and reasonably priced. Try the steamed dumplings. Once I ordered two dishes and it was was too much food. The portions are big. So order one at a time. They have a full workout room upstairs. Wonderful service. Spa World is a nice treat when a Groupon is available. Regular admission is $40, but I've gotten deals between $24 and $30. The pool room has recently been my favorite part of my visits. I like that it tends to be quieter than the poultice rooms/hangout area, and the women's room has just about everything I want anyway - dry and wet sauna, cold pool, hot tubs, jets to massage my sore muscles. On my most recent trip, the cold room smelled bad. Like when you leave wet laundry in the washing machine and it starts to smell. Prices for food and drink are a little high, but by trapping you in there and not allowing you to bring in snacks, you're kind of stuck. Those melon ice cream bars are delicious though. read more

Last review was 3 years old, so I figure it's time for an update. Here's a the full run down of the protocol and procedures to help you can maneuver this place like a regular. Regular entry is $40. Check Groupon for deals. This will get you a 12 consecutive hours pass to use the pools, poultice rooms, gym, and restaurant. You will be given a set of uniforms and a receipt with a number on it, which corresponds to a mini locker in the lobby. Locate your locker and place your shoes in it. Take the fob, KEEP IT WITH YOU the entire time you are there. The fob will be what you will need to order food/services. Note: If you plan to use the gym (closes at 10pm) just take the key and keep your shoes with you. On to the main locker room, your fob number correspond to your locker. From here you can change into your uniform, go to the main area or go to the bade pools. Quick warning, although the bade pools (jets closes at 1am) are NOT co-ed, it is however full nude. For those who are self conscious. Don't be. You will find all shapes and sizes here. The only thing that will get your dirty looks is if you don't shower before going into the pools or if you are being loud AF. Try out the soothing jets, or get a body scrub (last call is 9pm). Just make an appt with the attendant with your fob and you're set. I recommend soaking for 30 minutes before your appt. Some may find this experience a little rough, but I assure you will come out smoother than baby's butt. Once you are finished with the pools, change into your uniform and head to the main area. Here you can experiment with the 7 different poultice rooms, grab a bite at the restaurant (closes at midnight) or chill out on the mats. You are free to bounce between the main area and bade pools as often as you like, just remember to shower every time you enter the pools. When your visit comes to an end, change clothes, drop your uniforms in the basket and proceed to the lobby to settle your bill. I got a great deal on Groupon and was excited to be able to take my adult daughter for a spa visit. There is no mention in the Groupon that no clothing is allowed in some areas. I checked out the spa's website and didn't read every word. Sure enough, had I read to the very end of the etiquette page I would have found the information. I am sorry I didn't see it. I am sorry we weren't told of the policy when we checked in. I am sorry that it wasn't posted in the lobby or the locker room. The first time either of us were made aware was when a woman came running over yelling at us that clothing wasn't allowed in the pool area. We were showering in swimsuits prior to getting into the pool. Also, the toilet was horribly clogged in the women's room. There were some only 3 stalls for a lot of patrons and the one out of order. For those that are comfortable in a clothing free environment this might be a good spot. I am not comfortable with that especially with my daughter. read more

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. I found a deal on Groupon for a Valentine's special. It included admission, 30 min body massage, 30 min foot rub. We arrived there at 1:00pm as we were told to Check in and get ready for our 1:30 massages. NOTE: Make sure you schedule your massages a week in advance. At the time of check in you could tell it was just busy with people coming in and out. Upon check in I didn't realize that a foot massage was included. I thought I had to pick between massages. They couldn't fit me in the same time for 1:30 body massage so we were able to reschedule for both of them at 7:30 & 8pm We returned at at 7 to check in. We were handed our orange suits which are to be worn at all times. A set of Keys are given which is your use to open locks and charge other things such as food, services & tips. The lockers up front are ONLY for your shoes do not leave anything here other than your shoes. As you put your shoes away you head to the gender separated room. Once you are in there you locate your locker# based on your key. Change into you orange suit and head out. I would recommend grabbing a towel from the locker room because you will sweat experiencing the other rooms. We weren't given exact instructions on how the massages worked. We went to appt time and started to notice we weren't being called. Just kept hearing the lady at the desk saying they will call your number when it's your turn to other people. Finally after 20 mins I went to the lady and told her we had appointment at 7:30 she couldn't find me and that we missed our appt but we were there waiting to be called. The Front desk did not informed them I lost a foot massage for myself. I was able to get my boyfriend in for later time slot as that was the only slot they had. So just remember to always check-in even though they do call the number. While my boyfriend was getting his foot massage I took the opportunity to hit the pools & saunas. The jets are amazing another way of getting a body massage. IF you cannot get over being nude with a bunch of females this will not be a spot for you. Honestly, no one cares and pays any attention. We are all women with the same body parts get over it. I didn't get the chance to do the body scrub next time I will definitely do it. Each shower has Dove shampoos and conditioner. Can you bring your own if you like. The locker rooms have lotions and blow dryer and couches to relax on. After I was done with the spa I headed back to experience the other purification rooms. And relaxed a little on the floor. They have a resturant which I have not tried. I did try their bubble tea mango, delicious by the way. After a snack we decided to go take a nap on the mats. It was 10pm and we left at 12 am. Overall the experience was very nice. I will be coming back here. Every now and then, I like to indulge in a korean body scrub. Especially if I am in a new place, to enhance the vacation feel, I'll seek one out. Overall, I found this place expensive. I really just wanted to go do the scrub, but I also had to pay the admission fee, which I think was around $30-40 dollars. I don't think the admission fee is really that much - but as I didn't really want to spend all day there, I found it a bit much to spend around $90 total everything. The scrub itself was fine. For anyone who has not gotten a korean body scrub before, i highly recommend that you cross it off your bucket list. I didn't go upstairs to the other areas, so no comment there. The pools downstairs were nice and standard korean spa-fare. So, verdict: if i were in the area again - would i go? Maybe. I think I'd go again if i wanted to spend more time there to justify the full fee for admission and the body scrub. Maybe I'd get a massage, if i were to go back. I've heard about this place and my wife loves to go to spa's so we made it a date night event. The sauna's were interesting. I chuckled when reading all of the ailments that each one of these rooms were suppose to cure. They have a fast casual restaurant there that had decent food but was priced a little high. I also had a massage which was expensive and of very poor quality. At the end, the masseuse also pressured my for a $20 dollar tip which I thought was inappropriate. What I wasn't prepared for was the men's locker room and the hot tubs. It seemed like there were a lot of guys just hanging out nude in the locker room all evening. There was a sign posted in the locker room prohibiting any kind of sexual activities. After being there for just a few minutes I understood the reason for the sign. It seemed that a lot of the guys were giggling and prancing around just a little too much. Not to mention inappropriately checking me and other guys out too much. I wish that I hadn't seen this but there were also a couple of guys walking around 'happy'. I felt very uncomfortable and left early. I will not be going back. First time there yesterday and I wish I'd not waited so many years to go; it was magnificent! I had a Groupon, but I would gladly pay the $40 to spend 12 hours here. Now that I know how it works, I'll bring a book and enjoy the maximum amount of time -- it feels like an oasis. The 2.75 hours I spent yesterday made me feel like I'd been on vacation! No need to rehash what so many other reviewers have written, but here are my 2 cents about certain things. The front set of lockers are for shoes only; don't leave your wallet in there or the front desk staff will scold you when you check out. Don't take you cell phone into the poultice rooms; the heat damaged mine (I learned the hard way). EAT at the restaurant; it's reasonably priced, tastey, and is part of the experience. LOUNGE in the big room for hours with a good book. If you're leary of being naked in the bade pool area, don't be. Nobody pays any attention to anyone else and no one will look at you. You can you a small towel to cover up. Go with a friend. I went solo and was a little lonely. Having a friend to chat with will make it more fun. The feng shui is PERFECT here; you will feel like a million bucks! read more

They have an array of bade pools compared to Jeju in ATL. But Body scrub different. Their suna are way to hot but that may be a good thing! There infrared section wasn't working... now let's get to food, they don't have a big selection we bought one of everything to try and bimpop pots (maybe wrong spelling) were good, shrimp tempura was not it, chicken wings were ok, seaweed salad was lovely, boiled dumpling not it but fried are good, spicy pork was good, so not get chicken teriyaki it was chicken with teriyaki sauce just dumped on it.. and lady in kitchen had an attitude for no reason.. we got the honey dew and mango bubble tea it taste like water and bubble so please don't get it and when I complained the lady did nothing... biggest no no for me is they are no longer 24 hours so if ur excepting that please do not go there and kitchen close at 7:30. Best thing to do is go there and eat at establishments outside! I think what I like the most is that it's not busy so u can be in political rooms by yourself and not be bothered! read more

One really big place with lots of saunas and large pool. The service was terrible. My wife and I went and used a Group-on. We told them it was are first time there. We got very little instruction or information about how, where or what to do or expect. Once passed the check-in counter all the people who worked there could speak "very little English". Once inside the large public room we found several types of "dry Saunas" a restaurant and service bar with food and drinks. But with all my money in the locker I had no way to pay for anything. Once again if I would have been told that I could use my locker key to charge and pay on the way out that would have been helpful. The Spoiler: On the way out, I went to the men's locker room disrobed (naked) and showered and enjoyed the pool, hot tubes and Romain shower. On the other side, my wife ran into a rather rude server/worker in the women's locker room who didn't speak English, only Spanish (???) who would not let her even shower or use the pools. First time here, and it was a great experience. Especially loved the red clay ball room. Wouldn't give them 5 stars because the food was quite expensive. I also wondered how they clean the rooms and areas. My cousins and I stayed for 5 hours and the most cleaning we saw were in the gender sauna/changing room. Remember to stay hydrated! read more
