Your pass is valid for the entire day. There is a heated pool on the roof as well as large indoor pool with hydrotherapy. Depending on the time of day, they do offer wellness classes. Not so relaxing - Do not recommend! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I brought my sister a gift card for her birthday. I will post the email that I got indicating the $200 gift card and the order number as she presented the order number to the staff they allowed her to go in, which was nice but upon leaving, they treated her as if she was fraudulent because the gift card was under someone else's name - and I purchased an exclusively for her use.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I have no idea how the names would be mixed up with someone else's, since the transaction was done on the line. However, producing the order number should've revealed everything that the gift card was paid for and who it was intended for. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Really disappointed in how they treated her at her exit and the amount of text back-and-forth that I had to go through with her to prove to them that my credit card was charged and that the order number was produced, and I had a copy of it[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm so happy that I caught that screenshot. I had a really lovely experience at Balian Springs recently and would not hesitate to go again. My previous experience has been with the day spas in Vegas and The Ritz and I think this was mostly comparable. I have not been to King Spa or Spa World, but it seems this is not like those spas based on other reviews. YMMV. The facilities were exceptionally clean, with employees constantly cleaning and keeping things dry during our day. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everyone we spoke to was super nice and helpful too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The saunas were all quite interesting--my companion and I liked the gold and salt rooms the best. The rooftop pool was so refreshing, we loved the seats with jets and all the little places to gather and talk to friends. The indoor pool was also great, with built in hot tubs and adorable swings on the side. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The wrist band, very similar to a magic band at Disney World, was very convenient for paying and locker use.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All the common spaces were well thought-out. I did book a massage, but next time I won't because I had enough to occupy me without it--we spent 10 hours! A few notes: - I didn't see this mentioned elsewhere, but you can bring your own refillable water bottle, there are fill stations all over. - The food was fine, nothing exceptional, but if I had to suggest anything, I would have more small meals/snacks available, and at all times. The coffee/smoothie/muffin cafe closed at 4 pm, so your only food options after that time are full meals. It would've been nice to have the option to purchase a protein bar or shake, or a yogurt, or a smaller version of the charcuterie board, something like that. - The spa services say they add a 20% service charge, which is ambiguous, but then the bill has an additional line that specifies tip. When I checked out at the end of the day, the "service charge" was listed as gratuity and then the tip was separate. While I didn't mind the extra tip, my masseuse was very good, I wish it had been more clear what that "service charge" actually was. - I went on a Tuesday and was told by an employee that Tuesday - Thursday are the least crowded and Monday is usually packed. The crowd level during our visit was always very manageable, we didn't have to wait for anything and never lacked seating, but I could see how it would be annoying on a weekend or a holiday. - Not on the website, but teachers get 20% off admission by showing an ID. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We arrived at 9:00 am and only one person was checking in before us.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We put our sneakers in the room out front, but I decided to carry mine inside in case I wanted to use the gym. Which I ended up not using because I was in total sloth mode. They did give us towels, robes and slippers. There were 3 sizes of unisex robes (s, m, l) and slippers were true to size. The only thing you need to bring is hair comb and swimsuit. We did pay for massages- and they only last 55 minutes regardless what you get added on. When I go again - I probably won't add on a massage because the place offers enough to do without needing a massage. We had an amazing time, and I just loved the different sauna offerings. I came to Balian Springs for celebrate my birthday with some self-care care and relaxation. To maximize my time, I arrived right after they opened at 9. It was nice to seem to have the place to myself for a while before more people came in. This was also during the middle of the week, but by the time I left the spa was pretty packed. It's also cheaper during the week, and if you buy a student ticket. The facility is stunning, making you feel like you're in the tropics. The heated pools on the first level were the perfect start to the day. My muscles almost immediately felt looser and relaxed. The massagers were a nice touch as well, just the press of a button gets jets of water shooting at your back. They have smaller pools in the larger one with hotter temperatures, and there are 4 on the side along the wall as well with varying temperatures. I enjoyed all the saunas with their various health benefits. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bar offered different frozen CBD drinks and mocktails. Kelvin was the man! He made you feel right at home, and I like how you can sample the frozen drinks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the Mango Guava CBD water, which has the same amount of CBD as the frozen drinks for half the price. It was refreshing, delicious, all with zero sugar. For lunch, I ventured to the 2nd floor and ordered lemon pepper wings with a side of truffle fries. Of course there was an upcharge to get the truffle ones. It was nice and hot, and very filling. I enjoyed the aroma room, immersion room, and peeks my head in the multimedia room. Currently visiting Balian Springs and unfortunately feeling pretty disappointed, especially considering the $100+ entry price. I understand that it's a popular spot and crowds are expected, however staff openly shared that they were short staffed, which made the experience frustrating. There was a line just to get into the locker rooms, food wait times exceeded an hour with only two people in the kitchen, and the downstairs small bites area was closed, which only added to the congestion. I'm not sure why additional guests were admitted under these conditions. Accessibility was another issue, the elevator was not available to guests, which is surprising for a four-floor facility. That said, the sliders and fries were decent and honestly earned the extra star. The 4th floor helped redeem the experience a bit, the cool breeze paired with the warm pool felt amazing. Bathrooms were clean, and staff continued to tidy up despite being overwhelmed, which I appreciated. One patron mentioned this level of crowding is normal, which makes me unsure about returning. Ive started to notice that people who like King's Spa dislike Balian Springs, and I am one of those people. I like that King's Spa provided uniforms. At Balian Springs, you wear a "modest swimsuit" with an optional robe and they provide a towel as well that you carry between the spa. I think that the uniforms at Kings Spa keep things more sanitary. I also don't drink so the bar options at Balian Springs don't appeal to me. I did try the virgin sangria and it was a lot of sugar. The body scrub experiences are comparable. I have tried the Gold full body scrub and CBD full body scrub at King's Spa, and the K Scrub luxe at Balian springs. All three include the body scrub with an exfoliating glove, a wash, oil, massage and hair treatments if you want. The services are comparable in price between the two locations, ranging between $170-$220. Balian springs is definitely a larger spa space, and you can spread out, but there's pool right in the middle so naturally there's a lot more conversation. I prefer the quiet of King's spa, but at the end of the day, a spa is a luxury I hope more people can experience. read more

What a relaxing day! Next time I will come right when they open and stay the full day. I came on a week day and it wasn't crowded at all. The only negative was some other guests were playing videos without headphones in some of the rooms (how rude). A couple notes--upon check-in, we were told no reentry despite a FAQ on the website indicating you can leave and come back. Also, "no outside food or drink" means no water bottles too, or you have to empty them. You check in at the front desk, put your street shoes in a locker, grab your shoe locker key, then move on and get your robe and slippers. Then move on and place your clothes in the clothes locker, get your swimsuit on, and you're set to enjoy the services. We spent forever in the pools--the individual massage jets were so good we didn't even need massages at the spa itself! And even though it was a chilly day, the rooftop pool was still great. I tried all of the speciality rooms, and next time I'll plan better to be able to enjoy them longer. Lunch was great, reasonably priced considering, and had a wide variety of options. I was even able to take a quick conference call in their meeting space area! Showers were just normal and offered shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. 100% will be back. read more

Very disappointing experience. My wife visited for what was supposed to be a relaxing full-day spa experience. Unfortunately, the cell service/Wi-Fi inside was poor, so she did not receive my message that I was coming to pick her up. [[HIGHLIGHT]]She briefly stepped outside to communicate with me, and when she tried to return, she was told there was "no reentry."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] For a full-day spa that we paid for, this policy was handled in a very rigid and unreasonable way. It has been about a year since I was last year and this experience was just as good as the last if not better. This time I came on a weekday. It was less crowded than when I came on the weekend but still very enjoyable. The check-in process was easy. The locker room area was immaculate and clean. The previous time I came, the rooftop pool was under construction so it was closed but this time it was open and that is where I spent most of my time. It was a nice warm sunny day so it was relaxing to lay out on the pool deck. Since it was not crowded, I got to spend as much time in all of the sauna rooms that I wanted. So I came here during the week because I knew that it would not be crowded. It was a wonderful treat and you almost feel as though you are not in Virginia. The weather was nice. The pool was lukewarm and the hot tub was everything! Balian gives you a tropical vibe; they have several pools, which are located both indoor and outdoor. You wear your bathing suit throughout the facility and they give you a robe and slippers to use for the remainder of your stay. If you are interested in going to the different sauna rooms, you can extend the length of your stay. However, I don't particularly like staying in them too long because they get too hot for my liking. They also have different prices for massages and other services . I will definitely go back, and I'm sure this will eventually become a five-star review from me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, I did have a few concerns -- some more significant than others. I have a disability and cannot do stairs. Because there is no elevator access from the second floor to the third floor, I was unable to use any of the outdoor pools, which was disappointing. Another accessibility concern involves the lounge chairs, at least on the first floor (and possibly on the third as well, though I was unable to access it). The chairs are extremely low to the ground, and I needed assistance getting up from them. That made it difficult to relax independently without worrying about needing help afterward. I also noticed that towels did not seem to be readily available on the first floor unless you specifically asked for them. One smaller issue: the small cone-shaped cups provided for the lemon and lime water are very difficult to use. They become hard to hold after only a few seconds and aren't especially practical. read more

I wish booking a massage got you access to the pools and saunas but unfortunately you have to pay for both separately. Because of that I've never booked a massage here, I just use the pools and rooms. It's so relaxing in the heated rooms and I love the jets seats in the pool. Is Balian Springs worth the $165 weekend price? Sure. But only if you don't plan on spending any more money. First off, we waited in line for 45 mins to get in. The staff also acts like they are at a spa. But that I mean they take their leisurely time and don't work with any sense of urgency. The facility is nice but they nickel & dime you for every little thing. The drinks are $27!!!!! The spa services are average prices but you still have to pay the hefty entrance fee. I also couldn't believe that with all the saunas and hot spas, there was a complete lack of water other than little 2 oz cups that you couldn't carry around with you. I don't think that's very safe. You can spend up to 4 hours here without getting bored or redundant if you take your time relaxing at each room/section. It was SUPER busy here on New Years when we first arrived. The drink is already mixed. Pack your own wash cloth they don't provide them You'll need two towels one for wiping the sweat off and one for putting on the ground wherever you choose to lay. This was my first time coming here and I was excited since I heard so much about it. Came here on a Thursday in June using a Groupon. If you do use a Groupon, it is only valid Monday - Thursday and not valid on Federal Holidays. Make sure you read the fine print for additional restrictions. Please note that there was only one person working at the front so the line and wait was long. Plan to come as soon as they open. Their outside pool is heated so you can go all year round. They have a section where you are floating and pushed around in the corner of the pool. There are multiple waterfalls and sections to sit in and feel the water pressures. What I didn't like was that a lot of those sections were not working. They also have a very large indoor pool. They also have Jacuzzi's and colder plunge areas as well. They have a lot of rooms, salt, gold, etc. Love the many options. They have a smoothie bar but it was closed in which I wanted to try out. They have food options you can order from. I ordered the Coconut Shrimp Zucchini Noodles from the Kuta Kitchen. It was sooo good! My friends ordered from the Niko-Niko Sushi and ordered way before I did and I got my food first. Their experience with the sushi place was not good. Not only did it take over an hour, they also messed up their food. They also put a temporarily closed sign to complete the current order and provide their pending current orders. Please note that there is a very long wait for food and to plan accordingly. They also have a spa center with other amenities for an extra charge. They have plenty of free surface parking around the establishment. What went well???? Everything went well. We had visitors in from NY and wanted to take them out for food, fun, and relaxation. Wife surprised me and and our friends with day at Balian Springs. Not just any day...Father's day. The facility has monthly annual and daily rates all with military discounts if you qualify. The food was fantastic, and on the rooftop there is food, music and Bar....and quiet as it was kept, had some wonderful mixed drinks. The facility offers an array of saunas as well as various events throughout the say. My friend and I took advantage of the sipping event which features Japanese whiskeys. The presentation was excellent and provided me an opportunity to sample the Suntory line of whiskey. Thr Hibikki won hands down. Once we completed the front desk activities which included scanning drivers licenses (why are we recording drivers license info again?), we moved on to the lockers. I appreciate the freedom of wearing a swimsuit & robe versus spa issued uniforms or nothing. I also like having something on my feet especially going inside to bathrooms & protecting my feet on the hot pavement. Balian took the best of the Korean Bath Spas & conventional spas then threw away most of the rules. Many of my friends gave this spa high praises and I see why now. Potential areas of improvement: A. "Influencers" were busy holding court inside. Recording/creating content in the hydrotherapy pool so we bypassed it even though I wanted to get in. Isn't there a no recording rule? B. Drink prices are exorbitantly high. 2 drinks (1 frozen Miami Vice style drink from the island oasis machine & 1 mojito) were $60 after taxes, gratuity, & tip C. Took my friend here for her bachelorette party and a time was had. We spent the entire day there and used the event room for a private time with just our party and it was great. We enjoyed the full relaxation even though she was the only one to do extra spa treatments. My husband scheduled a surprise birthday spa day for me on May 29th. It was very relaxing. I love that staff were constantly cleaning common areas and ensuring an inviting experience. The saunas, hot tubs, lounge areas, media, work and general relaxation areas were all great. I really enjoyed the rooftop pool as well. I love how secluded it felt. The food and drinks were pretty good as well, and I appreciate the convenience of it being a cash free facility. The ambiance was great also. I would suggest getting there early if you want fewer people. After 1pm, it started to get busier, which I expected. It's large enough that it still didn't feel overwhelming crowded. While I enjoyed my visit and would consider returning, there was one thing I absolutely did not care for. We did stay here for a good part of our day and ate lunch which although a bit pricey was pretty decent to taste. There are several different rooms available to relax in and I love the attention to details that went in to making sure this felt like a getaway. The indoor and roof top pools are heated and very spacious! They have several temperature hot tubs making it easy to find a space to unwind. We did get a couple massage while here and it was one of the better massages I've had! Needless to say I'd definitely go back here and spend another day relaxing pool side. BEWARE: I finally visited Balian Springs with some friends. Overall, the facility was okay. They have an array of different pools, saunas, rooms, etc. I feel like Balian Springs has potential to be so much better but it gives the feeling of being "nickeled and dimed" while charging you a non-nickel and dime price. I was unsure if I could bring my water bottle in so I left it in the car. Big mistake - they provide water stations; however, they have the tiny, cone paper cups that makes it impossible for you to get any substantial amount of water or obtain water that you can carry with you to drink as you go in and out of the saunas (which is very significant to consume when using the saunas). The food is somewhat expensive and if you do not read the fine print, you can end up tipping twice because they automatically charge gratuity. The place is filled with fake plants. This would be okay if this place didn't charge such a luxury price but instead they half ass it with having fake plants all over. They choose not to spend the money to maintain real plants but their prices should reflect that. Hot Tub Folliculitis: I was basically there all day and I didn't see anyone clean or disinfect especially the pools. My back started itching after leaving Balian Springs. I found out that I contracted hot tub folliculitis, which lasted a week. In my opinion, Balian Springs is not worth the pricey entrance fee especially with the lack of maintaining a clean environment. What an amazing experience! I'm a bit of a germaphobe but when my partner said take the day off, I couldn't ruin this day with my peculiarities. I'm spoiled and it's hard to please me. However, this day was perfect. Unfortunately, we had a long wait to get into the establishment and that made me unsure of how the day would go. Once we were in, everything went well and flowed smoothly. Even with the line of people the venue was moderately filled and not packed. The pool area on the roof was beautiful and has an astounding view. Illusionary for sure! It's amazing how when you look over the pool there is an industrial parking lot. The beauty above is a stark difference. My partner made sure to get us drinks so the time in the hot sun was refreshing! Nothing like drinks and a pool! Felt like we were at a resort honestly. Massage time! My masseuse was Hope, she was awesome. I got a full body massage (thanks babe) and it was great. We tried to get food but the sushi people were on a break so we got more alcohol and saved our appetite for a real restaurant outside of the venue. There was a chess board and we love chess so of course we played. Cute addition. There are tons of places to relax, definitely a place to come when you just need to regroup. I had lots of fun with my significant other but this would also be a great day for a girls day out. The staff could use a customer service class, many were not as friendly as you would assume them to be. Thankfully you don't interact with too many people unless you're paying for add ons. Balian Springs is a wonderful, relaxing place. It is extremely clean and the staff are super friendly. My friends and I ate lunch in the cafe and were very impressed with the quality and quantity of food. My only negative was they didn't have to go containers for my leftover food. The water temperature in the outdoor infinity pool was lovely and warm. We spent 5 hours there and it flew by very quickly!! I would definitely recommend this place as a great solo getaway, with your crew or your significant other. read more

Highly recommend! The daily pass price is a little on the higher end ($130 for the week and $165 for weekends) but definitely worth it if you get your full days worth. We spent $75 on TWO DRINKS! I don't even remember how much the food was. It was my birthday, yolo, the drinks were good I didn't complain too much as long as I could taste the alcohol. The sliders are really good and they come with fries. The quesadilla was also good. We saw someone get wings, they appeared to be crispy, I kept that in mind for our next visit. Rooftop pool is heated. It was opened while we were there although it was snowing. We did spend about an hour out in the jacuzzi in the middle of the snow reminded me of being in Iceland. We went on a weekday so it wasn't too many people there. We booked a couples massage that I loved. Both massage therapists were attentive and skilled. I felt super relaxed and overall great when I left. I am seriously considering a membership although I live just outside of Baltimore in Baltimore City. Kind of wish I still lived in PG County (insert crying emoji) so I could visit this gem more often. read more

Balian Springs is always a vibe. Whenever I plan to visit, I clear my schedule cause I'm staying the whole day. It so therapeutic, relaxing, and allows me to disconnect from the outside world for a few hours. The indoor and rooftop hydrotherapy pools are amazing! I haven't been bold enough to try the cold plunge pools, but the hot plunge pools are more my speed. Initially takes some getting used to, but once you're in it, it's so relaxing. There's a bar at each hydrotherapy pool that offers frozen drinks zero proof wine, and CBD infused slushies. I always enjoy a different sauna too. Especially the gold room and pink Himalayan salt room. Still not bold enough for that cold room. Lol. You can't bring in any outside food or drinks but their food options are decent. Options include sushi, poke bowls, fries, sliders, wraps and salads. The spa is kept pretty clean and the staff is friendly. The day passes are perfect and a student discount is available with a school ID. I need to visit more often than I do. read more

Women are mostly in tiny string thongs. For the entrance fee, they should stay open to 11. They start shutting everything down at 9:00 pm. For the gym, they require to wear your flip flops and then put your shoes/socks on once inside the gym. I try to go once a month. Does feel like a more luxury experience compared to King Spa. The same sex tubs area where you can go completely nude seems like the cleanest and least used part of the facility. Would prefer more nude areas on select days. The staff are goofy and aloof from PG County. Ask them a question and they give you puzzled look. This is not a KOREAN SPA! read more

Went here for Leo season birthday 3 of us celebrating our birthdays. One friend had a facial and she was glowing afterwards she said it was amazing. My friend and I both had a herbal press massage. My masseuse Kendall was great definitely recommend her. Not sure who everyone had but I would have posted their names. The atmosphere was beautiful from the time we walked in service was great. Balian Springs has public pool vibes while approaching private pool pricing. As stated in it's name, it is a social wellness club, emphasis on the social. It's not giving spa. It's giving community pool with spa amenities. Which is absolutely fine, but I think the dichotomy between what this place purports to be and what it actually is leaves patrons frustrated. I also think the fact that anything goes, despite their policies, is hard for people. You can absolutely swim, dive, float, be on FaceTime, film content, be intimate, play music, scream, run, and wear whatever you like. There are no rules at this place. You don't have to shower before entering the pools. Staff doesn't clean during the day. So by the afternoon, there is trash everywhere and the pools are littered with hair and jewelry. Why you absolutely do not have to have your hair up and back to be in the pool is beyond me, but like I said, no rules. Actually, I was the first one in the pool during my visit, and there was a very visible tissue in the plants. So if staff missed that, who knows what else they are missing. By the time I got to the locker room at the end of the day, it was clear no one had vacuumed at all. Restrooms also seemed poorly maintained during the day. Also, for a place that is somewhat new, the rugs in the saunas are incredibly stained, the juice bar tables for charging were not working, and there are holes in the ceiling in the relaxation room. So operationally, this places leaves a lot to be desired. Now, you may think I hated Balian Springs. I did not. I absolutely loved it. I was there for 10 hours. It was fantastic. I'm already planning a return trip with my boyfriend. We are both Pisces so this is our type of place. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which was great for a first time visitor. It's beautifully designed and feels like an oasis. I was super relaxed during my visit. I had a panini for lunch, which was delicious. The staff at the juice bar couldn't make my juice (I'm not sure why--maybe she didn't know how, but it's not hard), but no big deal. I definitely want to book a treatment at the Lilikoi Day Spa, which needs to be booked in advance. But I can imagine a day at Balian Springs being even better with a massage. The locker rooms are big and there are plenty of showers. I love that there is a swimsuit dryer. Do note that while I saw a decent amount of handicap parking spaces, there are no ramps into the pools (only steps) and you there are only stairs to get to the second and third (rooftop) floors, so it's not super accessible. I wish I could get Balian Springs design with a Spa World atmosphere, but until then, I'll be returning here. read more

The facility is amazing. The decor and the spa atmosphere were extremely therapeutic. Various saunas , infrared rooms and the steam room, were beneficially hot and detoxing. The indoor and outdoor whirlpools, hot tubs, and pools were at a comfortable temperature. The food was delicious. The massage and facial was absolutely spectacular.
