I've been a member at VIDA Fitness for about a year now, and my mom is actually a founding member, so I've seen the gym from both a long-term and more recent perspective. When I first joined, the experience felt aligned with the "luxury" brand they promote. The classes are still a highlight because they're engaging, well-run, and one of the main reasons I've stayed. I also genuinely like the bar area, and most of the food I've had has been solid. That said, the biggest issue for me, and it's a major one... is cleanliness. It's honestly disturbing to see the same stains on the gym floors day after day. I understand the flooring is a neutral color, but that's not an excuse for it to look visibly dirty all the time. The areas near the windows and equipment are especially bad. At $200/month, I expect a consistently clean facility, and that standard is not being met. The bathrooms are no better. The floors often look stained and unclean, and there are almost never toilet seat covers available in the women's restroom. It feels like basic upkeep is being missed regularly. The cold plunge has also been an issue!! I've gone to use it before and noticed a visible film, which made it completely unusable. That shouldn't happen in a facility marketed as high-end. On top of that, the staff isn't particularly welcoming or attentive, which adds to the overall disconnect between the brand and the actual experience. To be fair, not all of this falls solely on the gym.. many members don't wipe down equipment after using it. But that's exactly why there needs to be stronger oversight and more consistent cleaning protocols in place. During the summer, the rooftop pool gets extremely crowded. The pool itself is nice, but it's clear they need more staffing during peak months. Service becomes very slow, which takes away from what could otherwise be a great amenity. As someone who works in facilities and understands operations, this feels like a management issue. There needs to be more attention to daily maintenance, cleaning standards, and overall quality control. Right now, it simply does not reflect the luxury experience being advertised. I'm willing to give it a little more time to improve, but based on my experience so far, I would rate it a 2.5 out of 5 read more

The Reston VIDA is such a vibe. Overall, it's super clean and usually pretty dead (which is nice). I've taken two heated yoga classes with Stefania and really enjoyed them. She gives a variety of posture options so that you can practice at your level. The music is very regular but given the location and demographic, I get it . Lol Every staff member I've interacted with has been pretty nice. They offer courtesy locks at the front desk if you forget yours. They also offer validation, but if you move too quickly past the front desk, you probably won't notice the little scanner that allows you to just scan your thing. Unfortunately, I paid for parking my first time here because I didn't know and nobody told me, but it's all good. I will say, this location is very different from all other Vida locations I have been to. This one definitely gives a more luxurious feel and can honestly be treated quite a bit like a spa. My main complaints are as follows: the actual restroom section of the locker rooms need work. There is absolutely no reason that every time I have been there, I struggle to find a stall with toilet seat covers. Usually, there is only one stall that is stocked with toilet seat covers. And several of the other stalls are usually full of unflushed feces and urine. Also, I do not know what the small towel situation is here. The first time I came, they had literally no towels. I even asked the front desk and they informed me that they did not have any at that time. Very weird because locations like the one on U St. always have a ton. The next time I came, their towel offerings looked very sad. They had like two or three in each little shelf section of the towel shelf. Again, not what I'm used to from Vida. Important notes: -the steam room and sauna are both co-ed. You've been warned. I was a little shocked the first time I went in there and saw that it was full of men. Some of them were literally just wrapped in a towel from the waist down. No thank you. -they have an ice bath, which is amazing. I enjoy my time in there. You are supposed to make reservations through the app. However, I have been walked in on multiple times despite having the door closed while being there. I also see people just walk in randomly to use it and when I check the app, there are still reservations for that timeslot, so it seems like people just use it whenever they want. I do not like that. Overall, it's a really nice location. You can tell it's newer and they are still working out some kinks. But please get some toilet seat covers. read more

Disclaimer: I'm reviewing the rooftop pool and facility impression. I'm not a paid member, so I'm not docking any stars. My overall impression is 5 stars. This is a fancy gym with a bar and rooftop pool access. I came here for a birthday party and had to pay $15 for rooftop pool access. The view was great for an event. The pool isn't very deep - 4 feet at its deepest. There's also a bar on the rooftop, and it will probably have a DJ booth if you're having parties. The parking garage wasn't too easy to find the first time, but once you figured it out, it shouldn't be a problem next time. Not all the garage elevators are working either, so if you don't see cars near the elevator, you're at the wrong spot. The facility is top-notch in terms of decorations and cleanliness. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to tour the gym itself - just the entrances. It has a good impression, for sure. However, it also gave me the impression that my wallet won't be happy if I ever choose to come here. If you live in the area, try it out. It's a bit of a drive for me. read more

This review is really more of a 2.5 than a 3. I joined VIDA last fall. In addition to the boutique style workout classes, I was intrigued with the social aspects and amenities. However, what ultimately sold me was year-round access to the pool/pool deck. I was told on my tour that the pool deck was open year round and that "members come up here all the time to sit around and lounge by the pool." As anyone who has lived in Northern Virginia for any amount of time knows, April, September, and even October can be quite hot, though most pools don't open until Memorial Day and close Labor Day. When I found out that VIDA offered year-round access to the pool deck, I was stoked! It was truly what sold me on the membership, as lame as that may be. I planned on being up there as much as possible during the spring and early fall (in addition to the summer). Imagine my surprise when I show up to VIDA on hot day in early April only to be greeted with a sign that the pool deck is closed to members and won't open until May 15. While there was no direct communication sent out to members, the sign did have the general manager's name, phone number, and email listed to contact with questions. I reached out to inquire about the new policy - which most of the staff didn't even seem to know about (and those who did expressed immense dissatisfaction) - only to be left on read for weeks with no response. Pool issues aside, I have zero complaints about the classes - there is a good mix overall and something for everyone...though if you enjoy an early morning weekday workout, there is not much variety. The instructors are kind and knowledgeable. Like other commenters have noted, I have also noticed a lack of cleanliness in the workout spaces. The floor in the yoga studio, for instance, is constantly dirty. I notice the same stains and dirt balls on the floor day after day. Makes me wonder how often that room gets cleaned. Additionally, while the steam room and sauna are great perks, the steam room constantly seems to be off-line or needing maintenance. VIDA also does not enforce steam/sauna rules. People are constantly in there with shoes, sweaty after workouts (you're supposed to rinse off before you enter), listening to music without earbuds, etc. It's not always a zen and relaxing space. I think VIDA was probably an awesome gym prior to new management (I say this based on reviews and my own personal experience). However, it seems to have gone downhill in the last few months and $180/month is starting to feel like highway robbery. Not the luxury experience I signed up for. It's super disappointing, as I live very close by. Will likely cancel my membership unless things turn around. read more

Everything was very professional and the staff was totally on point. I expressed gratitude to Wayne who was appreciative, but he quickly passed the credit to the entire team. I asked Wayne to text me the info so I could send a positive review. His text spoke volumes as he listed all responsible, starting with Shawn, who greeted and provided guest access to the Penthouse. He listed the Bar Tenders: John, Owen and Rosstin; Ryan an Assistant GM; Josh, the Head Chef; and Karen, Penthouse Director. The instructors are wonderful and I love the range of classes my favorite is the Aquaburn and heated Pilates, Barre and Yoga class. read more

Started off is that for ME this is a five star experience from the first day that I stepped foot in this gym. I am someone who treats the gym like a second home; lift for a couple hours, cardio after, and stretching and recovery. I was tired of all the overcrowded commercial gyms and this place really fit the bill. This gym, in my opinion, is not for everyone though. The $199 price tag per month is over triple the amount of over any other commercial gym in the area, so unless you have more disposable income or really take the gym fairly seriously, then I would think twice. With that said, the price, in my opinion, is well worth it. The staff have all been super nice and Katie was there to hold my hand each step of the way, figuratively, showing everything from the app and amenities, to how to validate the parking. Before I even signed up she made me and my Fiancé feel like VIP guests. Equipment wise there are so many hi-low cables, LAT pulldowns / rows, and leg machines than any other gym 10 times the size would just fill with 100 treadmills rather than equipment people actually use. Machines are PREMIUM and have the best resistant curves and arm paths that I have ever felt. Don't like leg day? I guarantee you'll look forward to them here! Five different squat machine variations, every isolation machine you can think of, they probably have it, and if you don't like machines, well they have five, I think, deadlift platforms that double as squat racks, then and additional two power racks on top of that. I don't think I have ever needed to wait for a machine or piece of equipment besides their gym80 lateral raise machine (oh this machine makes the membership worth it itself) The trainers all seem knowledgeable and are all super friendly if you have a question for them in passing, and I also have seen Tess for their in house nutrition, who was great in giving me the information I needed to reach my goals. Between the gym, PTs, nutrition the only way I can fail is my own willpower to stay consistent. Cardio wise I have never really seen the treadmills completely full, but there aren't too many and there are multiple different brands of treadmills that will spam and minimize your workout until you log in and create some account with them, which is actually super annoying (looking at you technogym!) and I have accidently hit the stop button more times than I can count, which might just be a skill issue, but I haven't had that problem anywhere else so I am nitpicking there. The few times I have used the sauna and steam room it was clean and the people using it were all respectful of space and being sure to cover themselves appropriately. Making it much more comfortable while I am about to pass out while chugging water in the sauna. I have not used the cold plunge nor think I would ever want to so no comment on that. So yeah.... that's it I think. TL;DR: Gym is expensive but if you take the gym and health seriously then it is well worth the price tag, or if you just are in that higher tax bracket lol. So many high quality machines it'll bring a tear to your eye when you first use them. People I have run into are very nice and respectful. read more

Nice facility and people. Great lounge and locker room. My biggest complaint tho is that the trainers hog the equipment and will hover over yiu while you are on equipment ..uts a bit annoying. Feels like the old lifetime fitness upsell preference thing and at 200.00 a month..well..I'll be canceling soon. very clean facilities and vibey locker room. unfortunately you have to bring your own lock for the lockers but the incredible weight floor and machine room makes up for it. there are so many treadmills and machines that you never have to wait for one. i've taken a few classes and they're good so far. Vida is clean and everything is new. The best part about it is there are very few members who use the gym during the day so you can get a workout in rather quickly. I'm not a big fan of the parking situation, as you have to go underground to the garage, then elevator up 2 floors, then walking up another flight of stairs to get you to the locker room. If you are on a strict time crunch, it's a few minutes you have to cut off your workout time. Be aware of parking in the garage though. One day after a heavy rain, the pipes leaked and my car was stained with whatever leaked out of the pipes. The management refused to take responsibility or show me any proof (they claimed they had) that it didn't happen in their garage. ParkingX is not gym member friendly and if something to happens to your car, it's on you. I like working out at VIDA overall and for the price, they keep the gym extremely clean as they should. The locker rooms are great if you need to workout, shower and get back to work. The gym itself gets 5 stars, but because of the parking situation, I give it 3 stars. read more

This gym, or more like a 5 star hotel, is an incredible facility. Not only is it beautiful inside, but it has amenities that will you help you become your healthiest self, like cryotherapy, red light therapy, wet and dry saunas, cold plunge baths, and IV infusions. The group classes are held in beautiful space or even walking on a treadmill give you a beautiful view. Everyone I have met has been kind and are there for the right reasons. read more
