I'm not sure how I have not wrote this by now, but here we are! 5/5 for a unique and fun spot to hang with friends or for a date night. It's great to have this alongside Token and Bit Burger - these establishments all offer different variants of food that are quite tasty, offering a comforting experience. My personal favorites I've had are both bacon-based: bacon on a clothesline and bacon-wrapped figs (my personal favorite). The beverages are a lot of fun, with each having lights or mist/bubbles, making it something that is not the same thing. Service is always fun, with everyone playing into the intergalactic theme. Come try it sometime and keep this place going!

This place was unlike anywhere else I had been before! They are really committed to the space theme and there are so many cool details to it. It is recommended to have a reservation. I tried The Replicant which was a tequila and jalapeño drink and really enjoyed it. The presentation on the drinks is so fun and each one comes with some type of cool feature whether it's the glass or the overall presentation.

A quirky, fun place to go for drinks and light bar fare, especially with a group. You don't have to be a fan of sci fi/space things, but it helps. It's in a weird, kind of out-of-the- way shopping center, next to a movie theater that's been turned into one of those odd evangelical worship centers (I wouldn't say "church"). That adds to the appeal I think. The staff are friendly and fun, which is what you'd expect in this kind of place. Some of the customers were cosplaying the night we were there, which again added to the fun atmosphere. Even the backlit menus are fun! We had 2 of their most popular cocktails: the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster (named for Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) and the Turing Test. The former comes with a buzz button, which is a seed that makes your mouth tingle. They tell you to take a drink, then chew the buzz button, then take another drink. I found the initial taste of the drink sort of one note. But after the buzz button, when I took another drink, I could taste the many layers of ingredients they use in this drink. It was definitely better. The Turing Test was supposed to have a walnut-ish taste. It was good, but the walnut ingredients were pretty low key. We had a huge lunch the day we went here, so we ordered some of their light bar fare as dinner. The Orbital Cheese was surprisingly good: crunchy parmesan pesto crostini bread that was wonderful on its own, but also really good with the melted feta cheese and tomato dipping sauce. The Rack of Rhynark included bacon, sausage, a few roasted potatoes and a (bland) slaw sort of thing made with radishes or cabbage or something along those lines. This dish was okay -- the bacon being the best thing about it. You don't really come here for the food though anyway, it's the weird drinks and the atmosphere. It's worth a visit!

What a fun experience! I came here on a Thursday night with a friend who was in town, and we were both in awe of the whole experience. We were immediately immersed in the space theme upon entering the doors and it felt like we were in a literal spaceship. The menus lit up when we opened it, which was a nice touch, and our server was so attentive and gave us advice on what to order. We only ordered drinks, no food, but the pizza looked good at a table nearby. The drinks came out smoking, adding to the space illusion, like a rocketship was landing. From the neon lights, to the futuristic techno music, to the amazing craft cocktails- it's definitely worth the visit! I heard it can get very busy on weekends but it was not difficult to get a table on a Thursday night. Highly recommend coming here for a date night or with a small group!

I love the theme of this place and how well it was executed, from the name of the drinks, the smoky aesthetic to the terminology the staff used. The drinks were very creative and affordable. My favorite was the Medusa.

In town for the night and stopped here after finding it on Tik Tok. From the entry terminology to the drinks to the ambiance it was an amazing experience. Order the Medusa Merger! Super sweet bartenders

My boyfriend and I went here for a date night and it's kind of a hole in the wall that we had a little trouble finding at first because the entrance is not very obvious. It is a little pricey, but then again think bar prices. I will say I loved the titles of everything and the drinks were something I would normally not try, but I ended up liking it. The decor cracked me up with "Mars Attack" everywhere

This is such a cool and crazy atmosphere! You feel like you're actually in a rocketship! I highly recommend coming for a drink and a fun vibe! The service is good and the drinks were delicious!

This is a fun place. They really go all out on the space theme. I haven't tried the food but the cocktails are quite the experience. This is not a dive bar for cheap drinks nor is it a place with elite crafted cocktails. Order the drinks for the fun and surprise and you won't be disappointed. Surprisingly, a bar like this does not exist in "Rocket City" Huntsville, AL!

Holy unique, Batman. If you are looking for strong drinks, great service, and an incredibly creative and immersive experience, Space Bar's got you! I can't get over how creative these owners are. Between Bit Burger, Token Game Tavern, and Space Bar...they are like mad scientists of awesome. There is not yet permanent signage on the building for this bar. Just know that it is to the right of the AMC Theater off Seven Oaks. Note that they are currently only open on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays and that reservations are recommended. Speaking of reservations, we made one for a "Flight Cabin" AKA table, versus bar, but upon arrival were seated at the bar. This was actually a fabulous error, as we got front row seats to the creation of these wild drinks. The bartenders were fabulous, especially Brittany who led us masterfully (and patiently) through our voyage. While waiting on service, we took in the atmosphere. Drink creation was a show, as were the black lights, fog, and the zillion murals, art pieces, signage, and TV screens imitating space ship data, etc. So very cool and detailed. You could tell the servers and bartenders get asked for their recommendations ALL.THE.TIME. and they are all still very kind and patient. Even when everyone, including me, wanted to take pictures galore of this adventure. Everything on the menu is themed and named after space travel characters, movies, and shows. We ordered: -Rack of Rhynark (dangling candied bacon dripping onto a bed of green beans and a few potato chip thingies). The bacon was the star for sure. -Turing Test (like a super unique Old Fashioned, served from a smoking box!) -Medusa Merger (tasted like a Cosmo and served with a giant berry bubble that pops and turns into fog) -Glitch in the Matrix (absinthe shots with a whole show, burning and dropping sugar cubes inside. These are STRONG proof-wise, and taste like black licorice. Definitely down them as a shot to get the sugar cube. Not a sipping drink). Let's be honest...this place is over-the-top, but it is meant to be. This commitment to the space theme is so dang fun and a great way to mix up your friend or date night routine. Next time, I may go with a friend and dress up space-esque if I'm feeling wild. View IG reel showing SpaceBar in action: https://www.instagram.com/p/CdNj8gIsdYq/?igshid=YTM0ZjI4ZDI=

Space, the final frontier... and the first space in Knoxville that's fully themed from the time you enter until the time you leave. Every inch of this place was thoughtfully designed. And every item on the menu carefully crafted. It's the first menu that features items that are prepared by a true craftsman and gastronomist. I've ate at a lot of Michelin Star restaurants and whoever shaped this menu has that kind of potential once they step up and branch out more. Everything we had was delicious. From the fancy candied bacon to the charcuterie plate we enjoyed it all. All the drinks we tried were fun and tasty too! It's clean and dark. And the perfect date night spot. Another fantastic addition to Knoxville!

This place is fun, simple and an experience. Thursdays all ages are allowed to go and we took our 9 year old daughter. The walls, bathrooms, waitresses, everything is themed from the minute you walk in! The waitresses stay in character the entire time. The drinks, including non-alcoholic are fun and include things like dry ice and pop rocks! We ordered the shrimp cocktail, the presentation is awesome with the dry ice. The pretzel was huge and the added sausage and pickles were a treat! At the end, everyone gets a lemon sorbet, alien ice, palate cleanser that is a wonderful extra touch!! We loved the neon coloring page, buttons on the wall you could press, and all the dry ice effects. Definitely fun, different and something different to try!

This is a very cool place and experience. We were not sure what to expect so we did not reserve a "boarding pass" time, however there was a cancellation and we were seated quickly. So, you need a "boarding pass" or reservation in advance to get a table. Once you enter this dark, black lit, spaceship themed bar the decor and employees are literally glowing. It is such a fun place to be. Honestly, I was curious how I would be able to see the menu but they LIGHT UP. Our server was very friendly and helpful. She answered question about the themed menu. We didn't order any food because we came for drinks. I ordered the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster...you guys. If you don't know what a buzz button is, look it up before trying. It was quite a mouth tingling experience. My husband ordered and enjoyed his Mudder's Milk. We definitely plan to go back for another date night. Also, this would be a fun place for a small group. There are larger booths and tables that would make for an epic girls night out.

We asked for a sever but were told by the manager, they were short staffed and we had to order drinks and food at the bar. However, a group a young White men sat next to us and a waitress took their food and drink order within a few minutes. We were the only Black group on the rooftop. The dark, glamorous aesthetic is stunning--perfect for date night or for impressing out-of-town guests. I loved the gold accents, layered textures, and thoughtful lighting. Everything worked together beautifully. We chose to sit at the bar to watch the mixologists work their magic. They were incredibly helpful in guiding us toward drinks that matched our preferences. I absolutely loved my cocktail--even if I can't recall the name--because it delivered the spicy kick they promised. We also ordered several shareable plates, all of which were delicious. We tried the Carnitas Tamales (shredded pork, ancho mole, fresh corn, masa, cilantro, yuzu arbequina oil), the Vegetable Empanadas (house-made pastry, wilted kale, roasted sweet potato, Oaxaca and cotija cheese, black bean purée, and adobo & chile-lime aioli), and a salad. I'd happily order any of them again. I did find myself wishing for a bit more heat, but I've learned that's hard to come by in Tennessee. At least the staff gave us a heads-up that the spice level is toned down. I'm already looking forward to coming back and exploring more of the menu. The vibe is fantastic--and while they have a nice outdoor space, the interior is so eye-catching I'm not sure I'd want to sit anywhere else.
