Before scheduling a service call, he even suggested a few troubleshooting steps I could try myself at no charge in hopes of resolving the issue and saving me money. When that didn't work, he arranged for a technician to come out the very same day. I was given a two-hour service window, and the technician called about 45 minutes beforehand to let me know he could arrive about 30 minutes early. He was friendly, professional, and understood that I was working under a time constraint. The technician diagnosed the problem within minutes, had the necessary part on his truck, and completed the repair in about 20 minutes--finishing before my scheduled service window even began. He was knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and took the time to explain everything clearly. What impressed me most was that neither Bob nor the technician tried to upsell me on anything. In fact, they seemed genuinely focused on finding the most cost-effective solution and saving me money whenever possible. Excellent communication, prompt service, honest pricing, and quality work. He also preformed some basic maintenance and replaced a couple parts at no charge. My mom and I used this company to service an issue we had with our gate…read more Please keep in mind that this experience was my impression based on phone calls I overheard and updates from my mom on the situation. Professionalism: the lady they have working in their office could probably do with some customer service etiquette training. The service person also cancelled 3x before coming out to fix the gate with no explanation of service charges or an estimate before finishing the work. I told my mom going forward please get everything in writing from all people providing services, but I believe most professionals would give you a break down of services to be rendered so you don't get charged 314 dollars for changing the batteries in an automatic gate. We got charged for a service call, labor, and parts. Usually you only get charged for a service charge if you decide not to go forward with the work. Communication: my mom had to get in touch with the lady in their office several times in order to get a quote with part numbers and weirdly the numbers on the verbal and email estimates kept changing, leading us to believe they're not really charging based on anything written down. I think it's super unprofessional to not follow up with an invoice or estimate rendered but that's our fault for chasing them down, we should have just left it alone. Accusation: I overheard the woman on the phone say that my mom didn't want to pay the bill we were given and my mom explained the service person didn't take payment at the time of service like other people in other industries have done. The woman argued with my mom about the bill when my mom asked if she was going make changes to the invoice and send her an updated invoice. My mom explained the service person gave her nothing but the carbon for the 314 dollar estimate. I feel that this situation was very confusing with poor communication and service and a lack of professionalism and poise on the company representatives part. I understand that everyone has bad days and if the owner would like to chat about our experience I am happy to discuss it with him or her but I currently do not recommend this company as I feel they didn't hit the level of service the other reviews had left. I read reviews religiously and look at them as opportunities for business owners to know what's happening in their business, but I don't leave them without serious consideration. He spent much of the morning pounding it back to shape, and added reinforcements. It looks fine now, though still creaky on opening. I'd expected that JT would take some responsibility, since Jason had done the installation. Nope. Steve attributed it to my garage "sinking", though there is otherwise zero evidence of this, no cracks in the foundation, and my house has been stable since about 1982. I was charged $270 for the work. My last garage doors lasted over 20 years without problems. Overall, JT seems to do basically competent work, but doesn't take ownership of downstream problems which they are responsible for. Based upon this experience I am lowering my rating to 3 stars, and I am feeling that is probably generous.
