5/5 | Rustic Charm, Incredible Flavor, and One of the Best Italian Meals I've Had…read more Tucked away from the big chains and cookie-cutter concepts, Trattoria Bella delivers exactly what an Italian restaurant should be: warm hospitality, rustic charm, and food that speaks for itself. The atmosphere is cozy, bustling, and unmistakably authentic. It's definitely busy and a little tight on space, but in a way that adds to the experience rather than takes away from it. The dining room glows with candlelight, bottles of wine line the walls, and every detail feels thoughtfully Italian without feeling forced. Even the bread service was memorable. Served in a repurposed tomato can wrapped with a red cloth alongside excellent olive oil, it was simple, charming, and set the tone for the meal perfectly. We started with the mushroom soup, mussels, and beef carpaccio. The mussels were fresh and flavorful, served with beautifully toasted bread that was perfect for soaking up every last drop of broth. The mushroom soup was rich, comforting, and packed with earthy flavor. The real standout, however, was the beef carpaccio. Looking at the plate, I thought it was beautiful, but I wasn't prepared for how incredible it would taste. The beef was exceptionally fresh and melt-in-your-mouth tender. The mushrooms added depth and savoriness, while the cheese brought everything together perfectly. Every bite seemed to dissolve on the tongue, leaving behind layers of flavor that were far more complex than the dish's simple presentation suggested. The pasta was equally impressive. Thick, rich sauce clung to every piece, generously finished with cheese and packed with flavor. Nothing felt heavy-handed or overcomplicated--just expertly executed comfort food with real attention to detail. What impressed me most throughout the meal was how much flavor was packed into seemingly straightforward dishes. Nothing relied on flashy presentation or gimmicks. Instead, every plate showcased quality ingredients, thoughtful preparation, and the confidence to let those ingredients shine. Yes, some items are on the pricier side, but after tasting the food, it's easy to understand why this place has such a loyal following. One of the best Italian meals I've had in a long time, and a reminder of how special independently owned restaurants can be when they're doing things right. I can absolutely see why this place stays busy, and I already can't wait to go back.

My "truffle" pasta arrived and wasn't even close to hot. It had been sitting long enough that the pasta was getting gummy and the sauce was off-putting; clearly flavored with truffle oil and not actual truffles. The mushrooms were chewy and it was just a failure. If anyone at our table had gotten a good dish, I would have written off my disappointment as poor ordering on my part but none of the items we ordered were good. If I'm being generous, I'd call this restaurant average - at best. Skip the wait and frustration, and just make yourself some spaghetti at home.

Service: packed decently, but they need to either wait until the sauce is cooler or get better containers for the Marina sauces, because both were melted to the point the lids were misshapen and not even on top anymore. Also, took longer than said, but they were probably busy since it started to rain. Food: we ordered the following... 1. Pepperoni pizza: 3.5/5 it's was ok... but on the bland side. It needs salt or spices or something. 2. Specialty pizza: 2/5 it was a meatball, mushroom and extra cheese pizza. It doesn't look to have much more cheese than the pepperoni with normal cheese and we paid extra for the cheese. But the worst part about this pizza that just sunk my heart when we opened the box... I still took a bite to make sure, and yes... they used canned mushrooms. Yuck!!!!! Who has a wood fired traditional Pizza and puts jarred mushrooms on top??? Why not fresh mushrooms?! Ruined the whole pizza. We had to spend 15 minutes picking them off. Just sad. The meatballs tasted pretty good though. 3. Toasted ravioli- 3/5 - tasted great but such a small serving 4. Eggplant chips: 4/5 - great big serving, but had a little bit of an overdone flavor. Overall: super disappointing... would not go back again. Not sure if it was an off night, or my family member went when they first opened so maybe they changed cooks since then, or why we had such an opposite experience of them... But won't be my recommendation.
