I was allowed to bring additional food and other snacks and they were kind enough to help me set up and plate the food. One tip would be to confirm the arrival of the pizza time. Our was suppose to arrive at 1230 (party started at 12) and it didn't arrive until 130 because of the rain. The pizza is ordered from a pizza shop so it had to be delivered. They were super nice and apologetic about it. The play area is huge and something for everyone. Although it might be hard to track your kid. It also felt cleaner than other indoor playgrounds that we've been too. We would definitely be back!

It was not that big, a lot of open space and was freezing outside. Would recommend getting discount tickets. Only took me 40 mins going around and taking pictures... and didn't understand some of their themes e.g. the squirrel robot was very weird! Butterfly wings and castle were nice. The bike wall should have had instructions - peddle fast to light up the wall (unless I missed it). Wasn't that busy or packed the day I went, but very, very cold. Overall, this lantern festival was ok... This event is in the parking lot of CitiField, not inside CitiField. Best to bring a real camera -- if you have a smartphone, better bring portable charger...iPhone batteries will drain very quickly as they cannot adapt to hot or cold weather. Bathrooms are porta-potties. If you want to warm up, go inside the dome tents for food (cash only and cheap) and other things for kids to do. Good to see it once and with a discount, not worth going again.

Yes - you have to pay for the food plus the ticket, parking (if you have a car), the ball room, souvenirs, and basically anything there. If you purchase a ticket on site, they even added a surcharge to credit card purchases. Remember to bring enough cash. The additional items add up quickly, and can easily reach 100$ for a family. That's a lot of green dollars - not leaves - for a Panda festival!

Games and scores are kept track through a wristband you wear and scan before entering each room. Instructions for each game are clearly explained on the screens outside each game room. There were a couple of malfunctions with the room unlocking but overall it would a fun and amazing experience. Staff are so friendly and welcoming. They are circulating to make sure you are okay. So I assumed I would be standing by the sidelines while my friends geeked out in a way I felt I couldn't. This was so not the case. There is something for everyone at Maker Faire. I was amazed at the go kart races, soldered for the first time making a blinking lights button (Still can't believe I made that! Me!), assembled a marshmallow shooter, went to a panel about movie prop making, saw the World's Largest 3D printer, make a fan out of popsicle sticks and a battery, and saw the coolest show ever involving a ton of Coke and Mentos (EepyBird) that blew my mind. I did a lot of other fun stuff, but those were the highlights. The entire event is huge, so prepare to do a lot of walking. There are food trucks and seating in some spots, but you have to walk around a bit to find it. But what I think Make Faire does best is inspire. It's inspired me to learn and build beyond my comfort zone. And I think anyone who goes will walk away with the same feeling.
