I've been to Boise before~ I loved it then and found myself loving it still. This place added on to that as it's an underground bar with a bunch of arcade games. It's not that big but there are a lot of old school games packed in. Bring cash! You'll need to exchange it for tokens. Price is fair with most games only costing one token (25¢). Everybody looked like they were having fun here and the bartenders were cool and willing to exchange your cash for smaller bills.

SpaceBar Arcade is a retro gaming paradise! The friendly staff, incredible selection of retro games, and amazing pinball lineup make it a must-visit spot. The neon lighting adds to the ambiance. Five stars for an unforgettable gaming experience!

Had so much fun at this retro bar for a 50th birthday party! We really enjoyed playing all the arcade games from our teenage years and the service was great.

This place has a great vibe, drinks are fairly priced and overall the games are pretty fun. The selection for arcade cabinets is pretty minimal but everything else is great. We were able to win the Spacebar Beanie but not the dildo sadly. We were also told this was the best priced magic cards in all of Boise

I kind of love this spot. Great selection of pinball games. Free to play consoles. Reasonable drink prices. Hilarious claw machine (3 wins in 3 days). Definitely on my go to spots when I visit.

If you go to Yelp's home page on desktop/laptop and click on "bars," you'll find that (as of the date of this review, anyway) Spacebar Arcade is one of the top rated bars in Boise. So, upon noticing this one Saturday afternoon, I decided to investigate. You might find yourself wondering, what is an "arcade" bar? Can an arcade really be for adults? Well, let me ask you this: Are you the sort of adult who likes beer? (Postmodern Brewers Berliner Weiss on tap, yo!) Are you the sort of adult who enjoys vintage arcade games (preferably while drinking the aforementioned beer)? I'm talkin' Pac-man, Donkey Kong, Tron, Mario Bros, Frogger (yes! freakin' frogger!)? Are you the sort of adult who might like to play old school Star Wars pin-ball? Or Terminator? Or Spiderman? How about lounging on a sofa and playing a little classic NES (the original Nintendo Entertainment System for those not in the know)? Or hanging at a bar with big boxy TV's playing Pretty in Pink AND The Breakfast Club while the speakers rock what one patron (me) lovingly described as 80's roller rink jams? If any of the above remotely refers to you--come and geek the heck out! With me! Now! Let's go! Seriously, so vintage in every way, you'll feel just the tiniest bit rebellious swigging beer. Make the beer Pabst (which is also on tap) coupled with the fact that the Spacebar is located basement level and you may begin to feel all Nirvana Come as You Are and Smells Like Teen Spirit. What? Nevermind. Totally vintage and yet fresher than the Prince of Bel Air. Grab yourself $10 dollars in quarters, a beer, and a game. A cheap night of fun will ensue. High fives all around! (no fist bumps...they weren't invented yet) Get to it!

Ask the Community - Spacebar Arcade

Does this arcade have a quarter pusher?

They operate on a token system. They have a "change" machine though, so take singles!!

    Is it wheelchair accessible?

Is this only 21+, or can 18+ come in too?

    Their website says 21+ only.

Can we bring our own board games?

They are really chill here, I think you'd be fine brining your own.

Matter of fact, my friend has a D&B gold card that they don't even make any more. He has a gazillion points on it and he is adept at playing a lot of the midway aka fair games. His daughter is just as adept so imagine my surprise when I blew through my $25.00 card in about 10 mins and each of them had won a combined 50,000 tickets. What was cooler than cool was that my friend asked my daughter, which stuffed animal she wanted and she pointed to a pig with a green hoodie. The employee was so kind to get out the ladder and grab the pig with the green hoodie. My friend handled the employee the gold card and I don't think she had ever seen anything like it She swiped it and basically said, " Ya. You're good". I laughed so hard. I ended up asking her if she had ever seen a point total that high, and she had not. It was a cool experience for everyone. In the end, I am not that savy in playing these games and the carpet does smell like old socks but I can see where it can be fun once and awhile.

It kind of feels like it's dying if I'm being honest. I don't see this sticking around much longer, sadly.

The service was amazing, and everyone was incredibly kind. They even offered to take pictures for us, which was so sweet! They brought us waters and were super attentive whenever we needed anything. It is a little pricey, but honestly, WORTH IT!!! I also absolutely loved the music! It was the perfect volume. Not so loud that we couldn't hear each other, but loud enough to make it fun. They even had the music videos playing, which added to the whole vibe. My only complaint was that it was a little too warm inside, especially in the bathrooms. That's really the only reason I gave it 4/5 stars. I definitely recommend coming here! Easily one of the best bowling alleys I've been to, and I would absolutely come back!

There was country music playing, and I loved the set up with tables and chairs at each lane. The two gentlemen that helped us get set up with shoes and a lane were very nice and patient with us. They also have a great arcade area with a variety of games. It was easy to purchase a game card and my kids loved playing skee ball and a Wizard of Oz game. Back to the bowling, they were great about getting the kids setup with bumpers and brought over lighter balls for us to use. Also, all the balls are styled after pool table balls, making them fun and colorful. We went right when they opened on a weekday over summer and were the only ones there for about 2 hours. I will definitely be back and won't be intimidated to take my kids bowling in the future.
