Outstanding customer service. They got to know me, and what I was looking for. They didn't have anything that jumped out at me. They then went out of their way to find and order something for me to look at when I came back in to pickup a ring I was getting resized. (I didn't even ask them to do that). This family owned jewelry shop is amazing! I called prior to our visit with some questions and the owner was super gracious and answered all my inquiries. Our visit went well and we felt we got great insight into some inherited pieces. He reviewed them and gave an impromptu appraisal which we greatly appreciated. The shop is quaint and clean with wonderful light for browsing their items. They have excellent pieces in our opinion and a lot to choose from for a smaller shop. We found the prices fair and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We also love that it is family owned and local which is a huge plus in our opinion! It was fun to chat with the owner about life as well which is fun when making a purchase - to get to know the business and feel like you are a part of their story. Today I visited the Spaulding Jewelry Store in Beech Grove, Indiana to get a replacement wristband for my watch. Mr. Mascari offered to see if he could repair what I considered an irreparable condition. He did indeed repair the wristband, but would not accept compensation. Additionally, he gave me great advice on how to remedy issues my husband was having with his watch. I considered this the epitome of exceptional service. Very well equipped local jeweler. Beech groves finest. The husband/wife combo running the shop are very attentive to your wants and of course jewelry needs. I've had 5 customs made here and love them all, even threw them for a loop with some 24k customs. From the lobby you can see the jewelers bench in the back, for me this is always a good sign. Bring them your ideas, gold, silver, diamonds, and come out with something special and spectacular. They also carry the already designed and finished products most people want. was just in there, and I was told to park in a different area even without the consideration, and I am handicap. I just had spinal surgery, almost died from a heart failure, and sepsis was in the hospital for 30 days so my stability is not that great, and need to park places where I can rely upon the necessity in case I fall where I'm falling, but Mascari doesn't really worry about that, there was only one other car in the whole park lot. Been there for years for different things used to live in Beechgrove maybe that's why I got out because customer service is no longer a priority. read more

A great little jewelry store. I have been looking for a good place to take my watches and jewelry since my regular spot closed down. I went in with a complicated watch sizing , the band was made in a way as to need special attention and time to size it. Not the case here. The man even said it was a complicated band. But then sit down with it and had my watch the right size in no time at all. I also asked if they could order me links for a vintage watch I had. They said of course it wouldn't be a problem. They have a beautiful selection of jewelry varying in all price ranges. Spalding Jewelry is a nice jewelry store. They may not have the latest designer pieces, but you won't have to deal the hype and sales schmoozing that you'll find at most chain jewelry stores. The owner, Frank, is very personable and helpful, as are the employees. My (divorced) mom bought her custom diamond ring at Spalding and was very pleased with the experience. She also had her old engagement ring redesigned here as a gift for me. Frank was great through the process, helping to point us in the right direction with the setting and stone. Their prices are pretty affordable too! I've had a few bracelets, rings and necklaces repaired at Spalding and was happy with the service, results and prices. I also had them redesign a couple of old rings into pendants, and again, was very happy. My fiancé and I went into Spalding Jewelry store a couple of weeks ago. The gentleman that waited on us was very nice and knowledgeable. He showed us exactly what we wanted to see. Because of my fiancé having large hands, we had to order his wedding band. As for my engagement ring, I told him what I had in mind, he said he would do some research and call me when he had some ideas of what I might like. A couple of days later he called and I went in. He had exactly what I wanted. I picked the ring up 2 days later. It is the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. Once the wedding band is in, we are going to discuss a band for me. I absolutely cannot wait! I will definitely use this place for all of my jewelry needs. So helpful, kind and professional. The size of the building is a little deceitful, but inside is a wonderland. I did not get any work done here, so cannot comment on the quality. I bought a watch direct from Citizens, who recommended Spalding as an authorized dealer, who resizes new watches for free. I called to schedule a time to stop by. The man on the phone said he has to feed his family and would never work for free. He did not care what Citizen said. For the sake of being honest Spalding should not claim to be an authorized Citizen watch dealer or Citizen should remove their designation. read more

I am from Chicago and this place exceeded my expectations. Frank is friendly and not pushy. At some jewelry stores you can't even get in the door before you are ambushed 8 times in 2 seconds, but that's not Frank. Frank is a nice guy who takes the time to answer all of your questions. So if you don't want to go to a place with pushy sales people--this the place to go. I did a lot of research on pricing before I stepped into Frank's store, and I can tell you that I got a good price on my fiance's diamond engagement ring. The craftsmanship of the ring exceeded my expectations, and the diamond that Frank had for us when we walked in the store was spectacular. Of course, I opted for the excellent cut, and now my fiance gets comments on a DAILY basis on how beautiful her ring is! (I highly reccomend you spend the extra few hundred bucks for the premium cut) If you want an honest salesman, fair prices, a beautiful diamond, and excellent quality craftsmanship--this is the place to go! read more

The building looked nice and clean on outside but the second I walked in it was like walking into employee smoking area. My nose started burning and eyes watering. I stood there for a minute or two then turned around and exited as quickly as I could. I thought smoking in a public business was not allowed. Won't go back taking my watches elsewhere. read more

Frank was very helpful and we picked out a 1/2 carat diamond anniversary band, which matched her original wedding ring almost perfectly. We are repeat Customers and have had diamonds reset, watches repaired and have purchased several items. It is always a pleasure to visit as there is a family atmosphere with no high pressure and the pieces are competitively priced. We are already planning our next visit to pick out a graduation gift for our daughter. Love this place! Frank has always been nice and accommodating. He sells beautiful jewelry and has repronged and thickened my ring many times. He has never pushed more jewelry on me and has even helped identify stones I have on other jewelry at no charge. He makes me laugh every time I have gone in for repair or to buy.
