This time, I decided to just go zero proof and enjoy the flavor. Strawberry and Blue Raspberry: Their Pina Colada machine was not working, so no Lava Flow for me. However the combo of strawberry and blue raspberry was delicious. I honestly don't need the liquid courage addition myself, and having the cool drink on a hot day was amazing. Though I did get a brain freeze here and there, I believe what I got was worth the price I paid in Vegas. Overall, I see myself visiting more of these places when I am in town again. Hopefully I can score my lava flow.

I am writing to share feedback regarding a recent visit to the Chocolate Bar inside New York-New York Hotel & Casino during a trip to Las Vegas to celebrate my friend Tracy's birthday. This was Tracy's first visit to Las Vegas, and I specifically wanted her to experience your property because we originally met in New York City ten years ago. We were attending the NKOTB concert at your sister property, Park MGM, on Thursday evening and arrived at the Chocolate Bar around 6:00 PM for pre-show cocktails. After reviewing the menu, we were approached by a bartender named Irene. My friend asked a simple question about the difference between the Hershey's Chocolate Martini and the Hershey's Cream Chocolate Martini, specifically wanting to understand the taste profile between the two. Irene responded, "Haven't you ever had a martini before? They are all alcohol." When my friend clarified that she was asking about the taste difference between the regular and cream version, Irene replied, "Well obviously it has cream in it." We were both taken aback by the dismissive and condescending tone. In a hospitality city like Las Vegas--where guest experience is everything--this interaction was disappointing and unnecessary. Asking about menu items should never be met with sarcasm or attitude. We flagged down another bartender (whose name we unfortunately did not catch), and he was professional, helpful, and happy to answer our questions. Our drinks were enjoyable, and we appreciated his service. However, the initial interaction left a very poor impression during what was meant to be a special birthday celebration. I have long been a strong supporter of MGM properties and do significant business throughout the year. In 2025 alone, I booked over 20 stays for my company, not including the substantial spending in restaurants and bars across your properties. Because of that loyalty, this level of service was particularly concerning. Customer service should always be a top priority, especially given the premium pricing on the Strip. After the concert, we considered returning to the Chocolate Bar, but when we saw Irene was still working, we chose not to. That resulted in additional lost sales due to this experience. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and addressed appropriately. I would appreciate acknowledgment of this concern and any steps being taken to ensure guests receive the level of service expected at MGM properties.

When we arrived, they took our credit card and seated us. The space itself is very small, which creates an intimate atmosphere. The dark velvet furniture and décor were beautiful and definitely gave the place a luxurious feel. Unfortunately, the music didn't match the vibe at all. It was an odd playlist with songs we didn't recognize, and it really took away from the ambiance. We ordered the Pretty in Pink and the Make It Dirty. Both drinks were just okay -- not bad, but definitely not the elevated, luxurious cocktails we were expecting. We noticed a couple people come in, have one drink, and then leave after closing out their tab. I asked one couple if they also had a minimum spend requirement, and they told me they did not, they had simply walked in without a reservation. That was frustrating considering we had committed to a reservation and the minimum spend, while walk-ins apparently were not given the minimum spend. I brought it up to our waitress, but she didn't really have an explanation. Since we weren't impressed with the specialty cocktails, we ended up ordering a bottled drink and a basic mixed drink instead. About halfway through our visit, the already strange music stopped completely, leaving the bar silent. Overall, the experience was disappointing. The interior is absolutely lovely, but everything else fell short of expectations.

MGM Grand Incident at Level Up…read more On Sunday, May 24, we came to Level Up at MGM Grand for Karaoke to celebrate our daughter's 21st birthday and Memorial Day. We were enjoying ourselves up until the following incident with the bartender Ray. I've dealt with busy bars, stressed staff, and occasional misunderstandings before, but this was on another level entirely. The bartenders communication skills were lacking from the start. We seem to be bothering him when trying to place orders. Not once were we greeted, welcomed or even asked if there was anything that we would like to order we had to call on him from across the bar for any type of service. What should've been a normal interaction turned hostile when the bartender demanded my husband owed him $6 for my Coke. My husband explained that he was gambling at the bar for the last half hour, but the bartender insisted he owed him $6 because I was not sitting there when he came with the drink, that he would not comp the beverage. Then came the request for him to place it on a tab so that we could move to a table closer to the stage. He outright refused to listen with dismissive responses, and instead of letting anyone finish speaking, he talked over my husband and daughter and escalated the situation. Rather than being professional, he became aggressive and confrontational immediately. The most frustrating part was being falsely accused of using profanity when no such act occurred. When my daughter told him he was being rude he shouted at her that she was rude and that's when the false claim was made that her boyfriend swore at him when he looked up at the man shouting at his girlfriend and had not said one word. Instead of resolving anything, the Bartender Ray took the incident personally and took it to the next level by calling Security to have us escorted out of Level Up, claiming we were irate, aggressive and he felt threatened by our presence, refusing us service. Despite this we remained composed yet justly upset and being publicly treated like we had done something wrong over a completely fabricated accusation was embarrassing and unnecessary. The security guard apologized and said he didn't understand why the bartender was so angry and that we did not need to leave the premise but needed to leave the venue. I understand customer service can be difficult, especially in a busy environment, but basic professionalism, listening skills and respectful communication should still be expected, especially in a tourism driven industry. Unless management seriously addresses how staff interacts with their customers I won't recommend this place and will never return. My husband is a retired veteran and I have over 30 years experience, in executive sales & customer service. I currently work in the hospitality industry for the largest 4 star resort in North America here in Las Vegas. I completely understand working with unreasonable customers, and we were not that in this instance. Far from it. We are very supportive and treat all service workers with respect. We are good paying customers that also gamble and all we expected was basic common courtesy. Retaliation toward paying customers is unacceptable and any employee in any situation that abuses power because they're having a bad day should be held accountable for their actions.

He continued to scream in my face and called security saying we had used inappropriate language with him and that he felt "threatened". After repeatedly attempting to diffuse the situation, he got security to escort us out. Additionally, the MGM security also did not understand why he was so upset. After they had talked to us, they profusely apologized. Overall, the 20 minutes we were there, we weren't impressed at all and will not be visiting Roy again. Which, if you've been to bars in general, they happily take your order and you wait and bring the drinks back to your seat. Well not at Vesper. Went up ready to order and the bartender asked where we were seated and said a waitress would come by and that we couldn't order with him. We sat, we waited 15-20 mins and no one came around. We waited long enough and decided it wasn't worth our money. If trying to get an order in was this difficult, can't imagine what the rest of the service is like.
