I recently had my birthday there, and it was amazing. The service was excellent, on time, and a lot of fun! Thank you spare time!

This happened two years ago during my senior year of college, (Spring 2023) and it still annoys me to this day-- so I decided to write a review. I was with a group of friends (all seniors and above the age of 21). I went over to the man working the bar, who could not have been much older than I was. I cheerfully asked him if they sold pitchers of beer, since I was with 5-6 people. He looked at me like I had just asked him some absurdly disrespectful question, and immediately asked for my ID. I willingly handed it over to him, and he asked me for my home address. (No one has ever interrogated me like this, so I said my Mom's current address, I lived with her when I was home from college as she had just been divorced). However, I didn't realize I had not updated my ID yet, the address still was my old house when my parents were together. Because of this mistake, he looked at me weird, tossed my ID in the trash and walked away. I said to him as he was going away exactly what I just explained-- I said I got the address wrong because I recently moved, but that is my real ID. Of course after acting like a total fool, he was too cowardly to come out and apologize, instead he sent his female co-worker out who told me "I needed to calm down." Shocked, I said "look I don't even need a drink I just need my ID so I can drive to school this week." You would have thought I tried to rob them or steal their dog or something. I could not believe the way I was being treated, I approached with a polite manner from the beginning. Keep in mind, I was literally just asking for one pitcher of cheap beer for 5-6 kids who were all of age and had valid IDs with them. I have never been treated that way literally ANYWHERE and I cannot fathom how unhappy, rude, and miserable this man and woman were. I would not have a birthday party there for my kid if they were PAYING me to do so. Glad I got this off my chest...DO NOT GO HERE! read more

Great "what does everyone want to do" solution for family of 5. We had been walking around during the day and today it was pretty chilly outside. We returned back to the hotel and people were kind of tinkered out. After a little relaxing the famous question kept popping up "So what does everyone want to do now". We were immediately drawn to this because of a great offer than had running. From 8pm - 11pm, all you want bowling for $10 per person including shoes!! We piled in to our cars and drove over from Burlington and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. My wife is in a wheelchair and while the only accessible lane they had was taken, they provided us with instructions on how to get to our lane. Navigating from the ramp all the way over on the left to the back path behind all the tables was pretty tricky and tight, but we managed to squeeze through. The one area I would give Spare Time a ding (and thus why not 5 stars) is their restaurant. If you are ordering food or drinks you have to stand in a single file line and order through a window. The person taking the orders is the bar tender and is also tending bar inside the restaurant. The line moved extremely slowly. We ordered a 16" cheese pizza, a Carleone flatbread and an order of chips and salsa. We originally asked for a 24 piece chicken wings but were told they were out of chicken wings. We then requested southwest egg rolls and were told they were out of those as well. In the end the experience was enjoyable, the bowling was great and the special they were running was one of the best we've seen at any bowling alley. A recommendation for them would be to either provide more maneuverable space by the ramp for wheelchairs to get around or possibly consider putting in a ramp at the other end of the building for the other end of lanes. We basically were setup in a lane all the way at the other end from where the ramp was. This wasn't really a bother however and we had a great family time! read more

Went to eat with the fam, took less than 2 mins for the hosts to clean our table (thank you for that) 25 mins for a server to come greet us. 20 mins for us to get our kids meals. Then we adults got to order and the orders weren't even correct. It took 20 minutes for delivery of dominoes when we got home. We had fun and it killed the 2 1/2 hours to get a bowling lane. We are locals and have never had this experience before but are so grateful for the veteran server to come over and check in is. I was a server for 15 years so I understand but this is kind of unacceptable. read more

Place is a joke can't even get in and bowl anymore since they did renovations. Like I said before went out for my husbands birthday. told us no reservations but they had a list reservations. Prices are outrageous!!! It was for Rock and bowl people stay on the lanes and when it comes time for rock and bowl or galactic people should have to get in line and make it fair for everyone else. Took the Grandkids here to enjoy the arcade. A few of the arcade machines devoured $ from the swipe card without getting actual play time on the machine. Went to the bar to order a couple beverages. Had to wait a while for service. Place wasn't busy at all. They don't carry White Claw or any other type adult seltzer's. No big deal. I ordered a glass of white wine but they don't have any. Only red wine in a box. Ugh. I ordered a gin & tonic but they are out of tonic. C'mon guys. Wtf? Spent $40 on arcade games. Left this place and went to Village Scoop for ice cream. Beware they don't take cash. Sent kids there for couple hours, I tried to prepay and cashier said I can't prepay but that there was an atm on site. What good does the atm do when you don't accept cash. Pretty lame for an establishment not to accept cash anywhere throughout the building. I had to return to use my debit card. read more

I exited the front door with a beer they sold me to put food in the car and when I came back I was told I can't bowl because the guy didn't feel like letting me and I wasn't allowed to leave and come back with a drink. So here we are with a wasted trip to go bowling. Last time I'll ever give my patronage to these people. read more

We visited Spare Time for the first time as a group! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We played one game of bowling and had a few appetizers from the restaurant/concession area. We arrived between 4-5pm on a Friday. It was a little hard to figure out where we needed to go because staff was not in place when we entered the building. There is a front desk (to the left) as you walk in. If you stand there for a moment, someone will help. The desk is also the area where you rent bowling shoes and pay for your game/rental. To the left of the desk you will see bowling balls that you can use during your games. Spare Time was very clean and lively! We also went to the game room to play laser tag. One laser tag game was $8 ... and it was a lot of fun! Overall we enjoyed our time out at Spare Time. read more

Went to Spare Time for my 11 year old sister's birthday and had a blast! It wasn't a full on party, just my girlfriend and two sisters. We played two rounds of laser tag (one with a group of 12 and one with just the 4 of us). I definitely recommend a bigger group for laser tag. In between laser tag rounds we hit the arcade and won a bunch of tickets (virtual tickets) and got some great prizes! I spent my childhood at Zachary's Pizza and unfortunately that place has gone downhill. The games at Zach's are outdated and broken--much better value at Spare Time! I was very impressed with two staff members in particular; Alex and Connor were awesome. Very accommodating and friendly. Alex was even dancing around the arcade and playing games with the kids! Connor explained the details of laser tag and got us set up for a couple rounds with ease. I've been to Spare Time at least two dozen times and have never been inclined to write a review. Big props to Connor and Alex. We'll be back for the next birthday! read more

The good: The facilities at Spare Time were great. We had my son's 7th birthday there and the kids really enjoyed the bowling and laser tag. We also had 2 other parties there and had an amazing experience. The bad: This time, after we arrived, the person assigned to us disappeared. We had to go out of our way to find people to help. She even sent a thank you card to my son with someone else's name on it. The bummer is that this one experience will result in us not doing a party there again because after spending all that money, you would hope to get some support the day of. Spare Time is more Roy Munson than it is Jeffrey Lebowski. It's a party atmosphere in there and as such, it's a great place for a party or large group. The arcade/family game room is an added bonus. It's not really worth the trip alone but is a good change of pace from bowling. read more

We enjoyed hosting a kids birthday party at Spare Time this weekend. So much was taken care of from cups and plates down even to a sample schedule and a lighter and candles for the cake that it really felt relaxing and fun for us as parents. A joke of an establishment. We walked in and were given a buzzer with an estimate of 45 minutes. We decided to sit down at the neighboring sports bar, that was a disaster in itself. Anyway, we returned to the counter 50 minutes after arrival and were told that we would be restricted to one game because the worker "forgot" that a large group was coming in and needed the lane back in 45 minutes and that it would "not even be worth it" to play. I would highly recommend that you find something else to do with you're time and money. read more

We held our daughter's 16th birthday party with her friends at Spare Time. Our party assistant was awesome and the girls got their fill of bowling just in time to go for a game of laser tag. The staff was great in letting us play the laser tag game with just our guests as our daughter requested. The credits in the Game Zone were just enough. I liked that we could use them in the photo booth!! The bowling pin souvenir was fun and the girls said the pizza was good! Thanks, Spare Time! Had my daughter's 7th birthday party at Spare Time and it was great! With a winter birthday and a new baby at home, we weren't able to have a party at our house this year. Spare Time took care of everything and made planning and having the party so easy. Jamie and Jordan (our host) were there to assist with all the details. This is one of the best places I've held a birthday party for my children so far! It was definitely worth driving the hour and a half from home to allow my daughters to celebrate their 7th and 2nd birthdays here. It is a bit expensive, but well worth it for the amount of fun we all had. I am not sure who had more fun, the kids or the adults. Melissa was our party host for my 5 year old son. She was absolutely amazing. She took care of everything from start to end - table decoration, food setup/cleanup, cake table, gift table, etc. She made sure that all 14 kids had a great time in laser time and outside during the celebration. She also made sure that we didn't have any big kids playing during our party time. Amanda & Tiffany helped us select a time for the party. That was very helpful, since we didn't really want a crowded time. We had our party on Saturday morning and it worked out great. We celebrated our daughters 6th birthday here. The party was awesome everyone had a great time! Our server was very attentive and friendly and accommodating to our party. The pizza was delicious. Oh Yankee Lanes. This is definitely your average bowling alley...bowling, bar, and those adorable rental shoes. There are league nights to be aware of...and rock and bowl and glow bowl nights that are crowded and cater to the teen crowd. But if you're hankering to throw around a 9 pound hunk of whatever...this is the spot to do it. My favorite time to go was weekday days with college classmates when we were all free or skipping. Sometimes during finals, there's nothing better for it than to go bowling during the afternoon. read more

Fun, exciting spot for a night out. It was packed when we were there for galactic bowling Saturday night. $20 per person for a night of bowling, giveaways & games. Goes from 11:30-1:30. Everything was clean, kept up and new. They had multiple options for shoe sizes and Bowl weights - easily will have what anyone would need. We had hosted a birthday party here in Jan. they were very easy to work with and everything was ready when we arrived. They had equipment to accommodate little ones, easy to move off and on the lanes. Food was pretty good and the service was attentive. We got cards to use in the arcade which was fun for everyone. But the best was the new laser tag. They allows our family in by themselves and for 15 min we had an absolute blast! read more
