Hotel pool....added because I didn't see any information regarding pool on the hotel's website.

This was my first visit to a Spark hotel. Spark hotels are apparently a member of the Hilton family of hotels. I guess you could classify it as a budget version of Hampton Inn. There wasn't a lot of information on this hotel online. I guess that's because it recently opened. I booked this hotel using my Hilton app. I love using it as it is easy to find hotels, gives me member discounts and also accumulates points for future rewards. I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel and my stay. Upon arrival, I came to the conclusion that this hotel was likely another hotel but had recently been refurbished. Pros: The hotel was clean; the room was ready upon arrival. There are charging mats, electrical outlets, USB and lightning ports for all devices. Swing out table for working on your laptop. AC was amazing! Television has access to guests' streaming services. There is a nice pool available for summer months. I liked that the elevators needed room key. Free breakfast which was only a small step up from continental breakfast. Nothing hot unless you count toasted bagels or instant oatmeal. It was enough to get you going for the day. Breakfast included fruit, cereal, oatmeal, bagels, juice. This is a new hotel, so maybe there are plans for a better breakfast in the future....or maybe limited breakfast items are part of the low cost per night. Cons: There was no one at the front desk when I arrived. This was not a problem for me because I checked in using the Hilton app. There are some minor odds and ends that need attention such as bathrooms sink stopper issues, hole in the wall with wiring sticking out, cracked (and fixed) bed frame, tub faucet loose. That being said, it really didn't take away from the comfort level of the stay. Be aware. There are no coffee makers or microwaves in the room, however there is 24/7 coffee in the lobby as well as access to a microwave should a guest need one. There are no cups or ice buckets in the rooms. There are ice machines on every floor. All in all, I was satisfied and would use this Spark hotel again.

    Buy some beverages and snacks.

Here is the best kind of spark to ignite your night after a long day! The interior and exterior has very clean ethics. we noticed during our stay that the owner regularly has high traffic areas cleaned. The rooms are spacious with cozy beds. The breakfast has several options of fruit, granola, nuts, raisins, bagels, muffins, yogurt, oatmeal, cereals, and so much more to give you the fuel to start your day! All of the staff are super friendly and aim to ensure you have everything you need comfortably. We are pleased to spend several days here and will return as proud Hilton Honors guest.

    Mold in bathroom

I'm always sure to do the normal check when I book a hotel room including the beds, floors, toilet, and shower. Unfortunately I missed something. After checking into the hotel then leaving for about 8 hours I decided to go hop in the shower and get ready for bed and to my surprise MOLD. I was absolutely baffled. I have NEVER stayed at a hotel with mold. To know that this is how Spark by Hilton operates their business is absolutely disgusting. I would not recommend staying here unless you want to get poisoned by mold.

I want to start by saying that this is an amazing hotel, and it truly is. The staff deserve 5 stars for their exceptional service--so friendly and kind. Mrs. Calandria and Betty B were fantastic hosts, always cheerful, hardworking, and ready to assist with information and support during my stay. However, I can't give the hotel 5 stars for two reasons. First, the breakfast fell short of expectations. As a Hilton property, I expected more than bagels with a toaster, one type of yogurt, and prepackaged muffins that didn't feel fresh. I was disappointed with the breakfast selection. Second, I was unable to print anything. As a business traveler, I rely on being able to print at least one or two documents, which is a standard amenity in most other hotels I've stayed at. While my expectations for the services were higher, I want to emphasize that the staff were amazing and the hotel was clean--definite highlights of my stay. The staff went above and beyond, even rebooting the computers three times while I waited. Despite the inconvenience, their joyful and entertaining demeanor made the wait feel less frustrating for me as a guest. Still, I feel bad that they had to work so hard to make up for these shortcomings, which reflect on Hilton's brand.

    Communication with hotel...no response.

Bathroom very large also and well appointed. Exceptional lighting. 2. Kitchen access upstairs for ice, free soda, coffee, tea or water, homemade cookies bt elevator or stairs. Honor system for alcohol (we didnt try any). 3. Accommodating pleasant staff. 4. Old historic house and small but pretty grounds you can walk around. The magnolias are ancient and spectacular. Wish we could have seen them in bloom. 5. Can order nicely prepared meals to room or eat in library lounge - breakfast or dinner. Def an old southern feel to the place. Cons: 1. Parking was tight and hard to to manuever but they did have a cart available for rooms that are further away - partially broken. 2. In downtown area, kind of dingy and run down - but somewhat charming w many old craftsman homes around. 3. Could have used some hanging baskets and annuals for more color and charm - would help brighten the mood of the run down area of town - 4. And wish theyd answer the phones. We left messages almost everytime we called (they were good about calling back). This leaves one feeling disconnected from a warm hospitable experience.

Interacted with 5 different ladies at the Front Desk and 3 different guys on the Valet Team; each were DELIGHTFUL and enhanced my guest experience. I love the Hilton brand, and arrived to this location after having left a Hilton in NYC (Time…read moreSquare). I'm attached to this chain, but let's say that this one in Jackson should lose its Hilton branding. It's a beautiful lobby, very ornate and stately. I was surprised at how nice it was when I walked in. I had high hopes, but it went down hill from the time I checked-in: #1 Key system was down upon check-in (after arranging for pre-check and digital key before I arrived) -- and had to be escorted to my room on the 7th floor for about 24 hours. I never got access to the digital key despite 2 different front desk people telling me that it should be working. #2 I was so happy to see a fridge and microwave in the room, but with that comes pests, and I was assaulted by fruit flies during my 4-night stay. This was the worst part of the stay. Really gross, as they were flying in my eyes, and face, and jumping into my drink cups. They were all In the bathrooms, desk, curtains, nightstands, etc. #3 By day 2, their app-based valet car retrieval service was down, and it didn't come back online until a day before my check-out. What was supposed to be convenient ended up being a delay. Kudos to the valets for hustling as fast as they could during the inconvenience. #4 Arrived at the bar/grill one night because the literature said they close at 10, and by 9:10 -- they were like the Kitchen is closed. Okay. Thought closing hours (ON A FRIDAY) were 10. #5 The literature in the bathroom says that they clean your room every other day. I was there 4 days before anyone serviced my room, and then they didn't leave any towels. I didn't noticed that I had no towels (I returned to my room late in the evening) until I got up to head to the airport the next morning. #6 Forget trying to close the closet door in my room -- it was almost falling off the hinges. The only reason that I don't give this 1-star is because it has the potential to be better. Convenient location. Modern/online amenities like check-in and valet apps. And the lobby space is beautiful and the rooms are nice and spacious. I appreciated the 24-hour valet and being able to get or drop off my car whenever I want. The upkeep needs to be better to ensure that all systems are operating at the level that we expect of a Hilton brand hotel.

The staff I will say are great and try to help with what they can. The first room I checked into was so hot and filthy, I had to request a room change. Not sure why I was given a handy accessible room with a broken faucet, dirty floors and dirty walls. I know it's been hot lately (78F) but the AC units don't seem to keep up in this building at all. The temps in the rooms barely budge lower and sometimes even creep up! Also power seems to be unreliable as it goes out at least once a day! Building looks a little neglected with lots of hallway lightbulbs not working, and just small issues like paint and cracks on doors. At first glance everything will look fine until you start looking more closely. Breakfast is just your usual complimentary fare of eggs and bacon, bagels, yogurt, juice and coffee. You can make yourself some mini waffles with syrup if that's your preference. I did enjoy the coffee very much. Couldn't access the pool as the room cards don't seem to unlock the gate and staff don't really know why. Wifi is also very spotty at this location as I regularly get disconnected for 30-60 minutes at a time. No water is provided so you'll have to get your own. Showers are nice and large with nice smelling soaps. Unfortunately, no moisturizing lotions but Jackson is fairly humid so you might not need. Beds are large and comfortable with those terrible hotel pillows. It's kind of your no frills residential hotels for a decent price.
