Please read the review if you don't want to make the biggest mistake of your life. This is NOT a hate review, but a real-life experience. If I could give them less than 1 star or negative rating, I would!! For those who do not have the time to read the review, my simple advice is to STAY AWAY from this company unless you just cannot live without stress and wish to be cheated at every step of the move. Spark moving company initiated our move from Wisconsin to California. Since it was a full move, 2 months prior to the move date, it was agreed upon in writing that household items will be packed on 03/22/2019. It was to be loaded in a truck on 03/23/2019. And as per the agreement it was going to be delivered to us within 7-21 days. The real story begins. On 03/22/2019, movers didn't show up. They had no courtesy to contact us. No e-mails or phone calls. I called them repeatedly to get updates. Of course, no one knew anything. Finally, I managed to reach one person who said to me "They are not coming today. They MAY come tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM". Next day (03/23/2019), at 10:15 AM, I called them expecting to hear that they were running a few minutes late. Instead, a person said "I'm leaving from Illinois now and I will be there in 4 hours." I asked him how many people were coming as it was a full move. He said he was alone and he has no information of it being a full move. He called back half an hour later saying he will bring 2 more people with them. 2 guys showed up with the owner of Spark Moving company. The owner came up to the apartment and said we need to see all the household items first. After seeing everything, he said "I've good news and bad news. Good news is that we can move everything, the bad news is that it's going to cost you a lot more than this contract." He said your contract is inaccurate and you will have more stuff then this inventory list. We had no choice but to accept the charges as we already had flight tickets booked in 2 days. We ended up paying $1000+ more than our contract. In all honesty, these guys came unprepared. They didn't have enough boxes or packing materials. Thankfully, we had saved all our boxes from our previous move. 80% of the total boxes were provided by us. They ran out of packing tapes and wrapping pads for our furniture. They used our garbage bags to fill the rest of our household items and we allowed them to use our empty suitcases to pack many of our clothes. If we didn't have all those boxes, there is no way they would've completed the packing that day. We received our household items 25+ days later. I believe Spark Moving deserves an award: "The worst possible communication with clients" award. I believe newborns have better communication skills than this company. It was a nightmare to get updates from them. The day before our household items was delivered, we got a call from the driver saying an 18 wheeler will not fit in our neighborhood and therefore he will have to use a shuttle which is going to cost us an additional $800. We confirmed with our property manager and he assured that 18 wheelers come in here all the time without any issues. Our kind property manager spoke to the moving company and told them that they should have no issues. Spark moving company then demanded a WRITTEN letter from the property manager that if an 18 wheeler damages the property, Spark moving company is not responsible. Of course, no one would provide such a letter as this was a ridiculous ask. We got a call from the company that if we don't agree to pay the shuttle fee, our items will be placed in the storage room and that we will be charged per day storage fee. Again, we had no choice but to accept the fee. 2 drivers came in a small truck to unload our items. As the driver was unloading, we started a casual and friendly conversation in which he accidentally revealed, "this truck was loaded with all your furniture 2 days ago. I just received a call this morning to drive this truck here and unload." This clearly shows that it was the intention of the moving company to charge us the extra $800 no matter what. Even if the property manager had agreed to provide us such a letter, the moving company would've found another way to collect the $800. Hopefully, you can see to what extent this company will go to cheat their clients and get as much money as they can from them at every step of the way. Once they finished unloading, several items were damaged boxes were damaged and items within were damaged. I have photograph proofs with time stamps. Many items were damaged. 3 big items were missing. 1 dining table chair, a swing set from Pier1 and BBQ. How can one lose such a big item like swing that is 6 feet tall and 4 feet wide?! When I reported missing items, the owner said it was accidentally left behind in our storage and that he will send us a picture for confirmation. That was 3 weeks ago. SCAM Alert! Seriously Do NOT Use!! I cannot stress this enough. First, I didn't even know Spark was going to be a part of my move. I got scammed by the broker (Atlas Moving and Storage) as well. My pick up was scheduled for the 16-17 of May. No one showed up on the 16th, but I got a random text message from Spark Moving Company at 9:30pm saying they would be at my house between 11:00am and 1:00pm on the 17th. Well at 12:30pm after trying to call to find out where the truck was, I was told that they were not going to make it to my house. Well I asked for a refund, which was refused. I was giving another time of between 4-6pm on the 17th. Well at 7:30pm a rented Penske truck finally pulled up at my house and two guys who really didn't know anything about moving jumped out. They broke several of my things during the pick up process, which I was told that I could file a claim when my stuff got delivered. Spark came with their own contract in which I wrote down my delivery date for June 17, 2019. I told them that I could not receive delivery before then because I did not close on my house in SC until the 17th. Spark never intended on bringing a large semi to my house to move, but yet they wanted to charge me a shuttle fee for the Penske truck they rented. I refused to pay a shuttle fee. Come to find out that Spark doesn't own a 53' truck. They show up to everyone in a rental and claim that they have to shuttle your load so that they can charge you the extra money. It's a scam or should I say, it's extortion. I contacted the broker and spark to confirm a delivery of the 17th of June. I reiterated to them that I could not receive my goods before the 17th because I didn't close on my house until the 17th. Well on around June 12, Spark calls me to tell me that my stuff is loaded, in route, and will be delivered on the 15/16th of June. When I reiterated AGAIN, that I did not close on my house until the 17th, they told me that I was refusing delivery, that they would need to reschedule, and it would cost me extra money... AGAIN this is a Scam and extortion. Well I called the week of the 17th of June to find out where my stuff was and I found out that it was never put on a truck and in route, so they lied to me. Now I have been trying to get my stuff delivered and it is currently the 24th of July. I have no idea if I will ever get my things. Spark has not answered my calls, and when I do talk to them, they are short, rude, and hang up abruptly. I have paid over 3000 in deposits, and I paid another 1863.80 to the driver on pick up, and Rafael tried to extort me for even more money, telling me to wire him some money (another $1350) before they would deliver my stuff. July 11th I got an email telling me my stuff was being loaded on a truck. Then July 14th I got a call telling me my stuff would be loaded in 3-4 days. Then on July 16th I got another call telling my stuff would be loaded in 3-4 days. Well it's 8 days later, and my stuff still isn't loaded on a truck. My contract states that Spark has 21 business days to deliver my stuff from my first requested date, which was June 17th. It has been way past 21 days. If you have taken the time to read this... PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Let me save you the heart ache. I am so sorry that this has happened to so many people on here. I have not only contacted a personal attorney, but I have also disputed the credit card charges with the initial broker. I have also filed complaints with the Illinois Attorney General's Offices as well as the Florida AG for the broker. I have filed a complaint with DOT, and I have discovered that Spark is not even licensed and insured at the moment. Not to mention that they have had 29 DOT violations. I have seen Rafael's comments on other reviews from here. Rafael is trying to make himself sound right, and excuse his behavior, often by blaming the client, but that is just bad business and he is just flat out in the wrong. Beware if you're thinking of hiring this company, When I booked with them Rafael was very nice and accommodating but when the day came for them to move us they were 3 hours late, no excuse at all. I called Rafael to see what's going on, and no response, no call back and no text back until about 2 hours that they were supposed to be in my home, when I finally got a call back from Rafael, he said they are on their way that they were stuck in the traffic (LIE) another 30 minutes past we got a call from their driver that they will be here soon, and that they he had a very late move the night before which Rafael lied to me that they were stuck in the traffic. We waited for 3 hours when this unprofessional young people finally came. The driver apologize but what good will that do to me, we were supposed to closed my home and we were supposed to have a final walked through and it didn't happen because this unprofessional people came 3 hours late. And on top of that, they were super slow and literally after being there for 30 minutes this people were hungry and was calling for food delivery, I mean, who does that, they should have been hustling and moving me fast because they were 3 hours late to begin with but instead they took their time and were super slow, WORST experience ever. When I called Rafael to tell him that his people are slow, he didn't even care and told me I had too much stuff, are you serious Rafael? How much stuff do you think 1200 Square feet condo has? They took 7 hours to move me which I know for a fact that this was way too long, this is not the first time I moved, and they could not fit everything in the small truck they brought me, this company will never ever get my service ever again. Out of the 3 young men this company sent me, only 1 was decent who was working hard, the other 2 were awful who was on their phone texting and talking half of the time....WORST COMPANY EVER!!! BEWARE DO NOT HIRE THIS UNPROFESSIONAL SPARK MOVING!!! I have to add this after Rafael responded, Rafael you and your company not only sucks but lies too, first of all you did not moved a 4 bedroom house with a basement and garage. Your lazy people moved a 3 bedroom condo! Get your act together! From my point of view this company is dishonest at best. We were moving the contents of a garage from Dolores, CO to Tampa, Fl. My wife scheduled the move for a Thursday morning and drove from FL to CO to meet the movers. When spark called to confirm the appointment, they advised that there would be an additional $1,000 for the move. They also needed an $1,800 payment that could either be wired or sent through Zelle. When we tried Zelle we couldn't find Spark Moving, so we wired the money to them. On the Thursday they were supposed to be there no one showed up. We called and left VM's, emailed, with no return call. Finally in the evening I found a way through their phone system and was able to speak to a person, although I don't think he is in the US. He apologized and said he would contact the driver and give us an update. We finally heard from the driver around 7PM. He said he would be there Friday afternoon. My wife had to return the following day, but made arrangements with a neighbor to meet the movers. The driver called again and stated that he had engine trouble and it would now be Friday evening. I tried calling the driver numerous times on Friday to confirm a time, leaving VM's. He never responded. I called Spark again and spoke to the same person as before. He again apologized and said that he would schedule another driver. He later called back and gave us a pickup time on Sunday afternoon. That driver never showed up. Rinse and repeat for a third no show. After three broken appointments we cancelled Spark and requested a refund, which we were told would be processed as soon as possible. Well a month and a half later still no refund. At this point we are looking into filing a complaint for interstate wire fraud. The only person I can talk to is the same non US individual. He refuses to give an alternate number to speak with someone that actually works for Spark and is in the US. read more

I've never posted a bad review on here before, but this was a bad experience. I had confirmed with them various times for 2 weeks that not only did I need a certificate of insurance, but I had a very specific time frame I had to move out of one building and into the other. Not only were they two hours late, but they never answered the phone when I called and only got me the form last minute after I repeatedly called every number I could find for a week to get the insurance certificate that was required by the buildings! The window I had to move out and in was completely missed and I had to negotiate with both buildings to allow us to move. I ended up moving half of my belongings myself into my own car. I did not receive a price cut or anything for my inconvenience. Since you pay the movers directly with cash, I couldn't negotiate. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the movers themselves were nice people. Both of my roommates' moving companies were not only 2x faster, but were on time and prompt. Spark Moving company went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Moving with little ones is always tough however the entire team of Spark Movers made this process very easy for me and my family. They arrived on time, did any awesome job packing our belongings with such care and detail, movers(Tyler, Mike and Mitch) were very courteous and professional and listen to all our instructions . The entire process was completed according to the initial estimate provided by the office manger (Alina). She did any awesome job putting together a perfect game plan for our big day, she even reached out to me on our moving day( Saturday) to make sure everything is going according the plan. I should have read the reviews before booking this company! We had everything set to move. We needed 9 pieces of furniture moved. We had our helpers here for baby sitting, my husband and I both took off work, and then Spark Moving just didn't show up! No phone call, no email, nothing!!! I see that the owner has done this in the past! Very unprofessional! Don't waste your time or money! I also see how rude he is to other people who have posted the truth about him. Well, Rafael just know that I'm praying for you and for all those who accidentally work with you. Update: I received a call from the company saying they were sorry and that they would send a gift card from Home Depot. I never got the gift card. They also told me not to post on social media! Please don't use this company!!! They are terrible!!! They were scheduled for my move at 12-1 window, they call around noon and said they were running a little late would 6pm be too late they said. A little late that is not a little late that is someone screwed up! But because it was the end of the month we agreed to the LATE arrival. Come 6 o'clock still no show, we make several calls(some of which we were hung up on) and finally around 7pm we find out they aren't coming at all. So they say we can re-schedule for the next day at 4pm, again it's the end of the month so we agree to let them come the next day. The next day we are there at 4pm and guess what happens...NO SHOW again. We call them and they say we can't get there till 6:30pm. This when we called another company to see if they could make it the following day and they said yes. So we called Spark back and cancelled them. read more

Hello everyone! Need to make this review, because a service i got is - 6 stars out of 5!!! When i was prepared to move to a new location, i remembered that my friend Rafael started working in this moving company. (Tried many different moving companies before) BUT: I called him right away. He explained me everything in details (shuttle service, wrapping etc costs) A did not expect guys to come on time (windy, snowy, traffic) But they came exactly time we arranged before! Everything was done in less time then i expected. Not pricey - no scratches and no damages! They got my advice for everyone who moves locally! if i have a choice of 6 stars - they regret that! But only 5... Awesome friendly guys, know what and how they do it! No problems at all! i was originally quoted a 7-10 day wait time to get my things sent from Chicago to San Francisco. A week later I didn't have tracking so i called and was told my things hadn't yet left Chicago and it was going to be another 15 days until my things arrived. I couldn't believe it but fortunately my experience with their customer support has been fantastic. Rafael completely understood how i felt and is fixing the problem. Im getting my shipping expedited and it will be leaving tomorrow at no cost obviously that is what i was gold id get in the first place but now that we are here they are doing everything they can to help. Guys from Spark did a great job . They are highly qualified . First sales Anthony explained me everything that I've got to know about my upcoming move from NYC to Miami. So before move I've run to Home Depot and bought boxes and mattress covers . Doing this step I have saved me around 800$ . I have packed my clothing into boxes and mattress cover I have used for my bed. Guys came take whatever was discussed previously with sales representative . Only one problem that I have is that my gf decided to move 2 extra bookcases, but Spark team have take them as well for additional 250$ . All my total move was 1750$ . I wanna say that Spark Moving Company is super professional. First i got call from sales person his name was Rafael. Rafael was very professional when he took my inventory list. He was very specific about how many boxes I'm gonna have and went over each piece of furniture. When the movers arrived the job start immediately. They all knew exactly what to do. They moved out of Optima building within one hour. When we arrived to the delivery they placed all the furniture exactly how I wanted. It's took one extra hour but for this type of service I didn't mind to pay extra. Great service i will definitely recommend them as for the local moves if you live in Chicago area! I needed to move a couple stuff and I couldn't be more happier with these gentleman! They did their job! Moved everything within hours, wrapped everything like I needed to! Couldn't be any happier! I called in because I was in a rush, they gave me a great price which was very fair for the amount of work they provided. I was so lucky to find Spark Moving Company! It was so stressful trying to find movers that we can trust, do to a bad experience in my last move. When I finally ran into spark moving Com, I spoke with a sales rep named Rafael on the phone and he was so helpful and understanding with my questions. My uncle was moving and needed a good moving company. My friend recommended Spark Moving stating that she was very impressed by the work they have done for her. They were on time and confirm the date for him. They made sure to call the day before to make sure that he did not want to cancel anything. My uncle is a bigger collector of antiques and was very worried nothing would he broken. We wrapped everything how we could but the movers wrapped it up extra and nothing was broken. Honest & reliable company! We were needing to move a family memeber with little to no notice and we called everywhere only leaving us to get the same answer of it being too short notice, until we called Spark Moving! They had no problem with the short time frame before the moving date and were more than happy to get us taken care of. With me having to make the trip to IL to help with the move im glad to of found Spark Moving, it made this move a lot easier and less stressfull on all of us.
