It was a complicated move with multiple pick up and drop off locations and in the middle of inclement weather, making moving conditions dangerous. They packed and moved everything quickly, no damage was done to the houses or items moved, everything arrived where it was supposed to end up. I have two different service crew. The first service crew was great, but the second service crew was less than great. They tried to overcharge me. They were not respectful. We requested their help the same week, and three days later we had a great crew of 4 led by Carlos, that were incredibly hardworking for a full ten hour day. This YELP is true & accurate, not exaggerated or embellished & it appears a complaint was filed with YELP to deter this post after initial posting of 07/14/24. The container in question NEVER made it to the new address & was present at the old address. This is a physically disabled woman who has a Special Ed child on homebound instruction, but the 3 men who moved them did not deliver their 3rd light blue slightly see through large tote (PIC example) filled with approx. 20-30 sports jerseys including a Mighty Ducks Jersey. This tote was special to the woman as it was for her child & believing all items moved would be delivered. The move occurred on 07/02/24 & she was 61. Due to the extreme duress of the move, disabilities & limitations in lifting it took a bit to go through the containers not finding that specific one she was searching for noticed on 07/11/24 due to the number of items. The woman's 1st call to Alliance was 07/12/24 where a female answered the phone eliciting a claim their employees would never steal. An Alliance member came out in the early afternoon to verify it was not present & it was not after the woman's counselor made contact. The disabled woman advised the Alliance member of the verbal comment made on the phone & asked for this in writing, truly only wanting the container returned to her. The Alliance member stated he has known the 3 men for 20 years. He said he would talk to the 3 men whom he has known for 20 years. This container was located in the 1st closet the movers came to when walking into the old unit, on the shelf all the way to the left. As of 07/14/24, that Alliance member who came out has not gotten back to the woman on the status of this container. There is no way for this tote to be misplaced as it is only the woman & child. The woman was not even asked to check the truck before they left, she assisted the head mover with writing down information due to his claim of knowing more Spanish than English. The woman has physical disabilities & was in pain, unknown to the workers.It is wrong to do this to anyone but to a disabled family??? She was just keeping them for her child as she did not have much for him.This family had 3 same-colored totes like the one pictured. 2 consisted of baby & toddler clothes from the storage space as her child was one of a twin who passed away in 2012, 1 consisted of the MISSING sports jerseys in the unit closet & that 3rd container is & was nowhere to be found. Alliance Moving was the last to take it out of that closet at the old location but NEVER brought it into the new location. It appears they took advantage of a physically disabled woman & her child. It is kind of hard to misplace/lose a tote of this nature in a truck unless done intentionally. This appears to be why the disabled woman was not asked to inspect the truck! This WILL be updated IF this tote is brought back/found/returned to the family with all the contents as it is hard to lose or accidentally forget to bring in the last tote with Sports Jerseys.The disabled woman was never asked to inspect the truck as previously mentioned & was already under extreme duress due to moving as it took her MONTHS to pack due to these physical disabilities. The woman has had communication with Jaggy, a female who answered the phone 07/12/24 & the male Alliance Member who came out 07/12/24. If it was not taken intentionally, WHAT DID THE 3 EMPLOYEES DO WITH IT BEING THE LAST TO HAVE IT & WHERE IS IT? PS Head Alliance moving employee took PICS without permission however none of the 3 light blue see-through containers were visible. Reiterating, 2 were taken from storage & the 1 in question from the old location 1st closet on the shelf. To date 07/19/24, that Alliance employee who came out has not responded. PICS taken by 1 of the original 3 movers were not authorized by the disabled woman, exhibited in a prior email from Jaggy. read more

Our realtor put us in touch with Alliance on the recommendation of her other clients. We were looking for a company capable of packing a large household of fragile, antique, and irreplaceable items, including old furniture, sculpture, and tribal art. We thought we would be moving out, then moving into to a new home eight days later, during which time Alliance would be storing our stuff. After a few unanticipated wrinkles, we moved into a new home 5 months later. Nothing was lost, damaged, or broken. It was really amazing. The crews are very serious, quiet, and careful. We also appreciated Craig and Tiffany, who worked on the back end to provide revised estimates and delivered our belongings back to us on a revised timeline. I also used Alliance for a move from self storage in Chicago to self storage in Wisconsin. Again--the crew was on time, polite, methodical, and hard-working. They show up and do the job. Osbaldo Luna came for an in-home consultation and quoted me free wardrobes and a free TV box, which was great considering no company gives anything for free anymore -- and if they did, it was like one or max 3 wardrobes. That experience was great, but it was all downhill from there. Moving day came, but I was moved in to my new home two days later due to my postponed closing. On July 13, I immediately reported damages to the manager, Jaggy, in addition to multiple missing items. I was calling and emailing daily and it took 2 weeks for them to respond to my damages and three weeks for them to do anything about the damaged items. They have yet to fix two broken file cabinets; further, they have not compensated me for 6 missing Alexa lightbulbs, nor have they compensated me for my broken printer and broken floor lamp. Update: contacted Alliance again on 8/7 and 8/8. Jaggy continued to blame my contractors for damaging my ecobee, even though the contractors present on the day of my move were at the house just to quote me for painting services. They began their work on 7/18, five days after move-in on 7/13 when they supposedly damaged my ecobee. When I explained to jaggy that I didn't get to show their furniture contractor the office file cabinet that they damaged, Jaggy again found another way to blame it on me. He claims he had no email about the file cabinet; I immediately forwarded the email to him since he cannot keep track of his emails. Finally, Jaggy threatened that he won't do anything since "the damage is already done," referring to my yelp review. I'm sorry that I had to take it all to yelp for you to take action! read more

I called 3 local Chicago moving companies, and this was the only one that didn't give me sticker shock. They were 30% less than the well advertised competitors. The office manager, Jaggy, is polite and allowed me to change my scheduled moving day several times without fees. I was originally scheduled for 3 guys for the move, but a 4th was included the day of. Hard working, respectful guys, very friendly and protected everything well. I was a little nervous at first after getting burned by another mover recently, but Alliance fulfilled their commitment 100%! They took the time to do a video call with me to do a quick inventory of what was getting moved, and provided me with a reasonable quote. Moving day 4/18 came, the movers arrived within the agreed window and were completely professional - down to using their own branded truck (versus other moves that will rent one for pickup)! I would not reccomend this company. Unless you are willing to completely have no say in how you move and pay charges you did not except. I had a 1000 sq foot apartment, containing two big furniture items; sofa and bed (frame and mattress). also 3 Warerobe boxes, that I remember the movers mentioning so maybe it is a contributing factor. The company will give you an low estimate over the phone for example, I was estimate at 2.3k, which quickly changed to 4K when the movers came to my apartment, you must pay 70% on moving day. Not the big of deal maybe I had more boxes than projected. The movers will then ask your first available date of deliver. The contract will state you choose your date but this is simply not true. the company choose your date. My pick up date was the august 14th, i choice a start date of the 15th naturally and was awarded the start date of the 21st. If you travel for work PLEASE PLEASE do not consider this company. Contact states " customer must be able and available to receive the goods starting the day after the goods were picked up". They will NOT give you an estimated date of arrival until 24hours prior. you will not be able to even suggest days of delivery of your things and they will charge you for not be able on the date of delievery. As the contract states. The movers contacted me on sept 5th stating they will drop off 6th. I am currently traveling. I am not sure how much I will be charged, and they will have to move items to the second floor which will be an additional $75 charge. It is September 11 and I have not received any updates as to when my things will be dropped off. I am assuming the company restarted the 30 day window and I have no idea as to how much I will be charge.. read more

Let me start off by saying that the customer service of both Jaggy from an admin/scheduling perspective and then Marcos and crew from the moving/storage perspective were awesome! I had requested a few different quotes online and Alliance was, in my opinion, the most affordable to what they were able to provide. I had a unique situation where my condo sold first before we could close on our new home so Jaggy set me up with the move out of the condo, moving my items into storage for a a few weeks, and then having the same crew come out to my house for move in and assembly - all at an affordable rate. Marcos and his guys were extremely professional - from being on time (early even!), moving the items, assembling the items back up in the new house, and Marcos even giving me feedback on couch placement to give the room the most amount of space. I've used this group twice and about to do it again for my wife's house. They have been outstanding to work with. Incredibly professional, well organized and accommodating if things don't go exactly as planned on customer end. I had to scramble to pack a couple more things when they got here this last time. They helped with additional packing product. I also left my passport in a file cabinet and found out weeks after the fast while it sat is storage. They dug it out for me at no additional cost. Two moves so far with nothing damaged. Their team seems experienced as well. I've had experiences with other moves in the past where I nervously watched them not know how to maneuver items. Alliance handled our move from a house in the suburbs to a condominium in the city. They packed everything with care and wrapped all the furniture with blankets and stretch wrap for the trip. I was worried they would have trouble getting the furniture into the condo through the narrow hallway - but they did it without a scratch or ding anywhere on the walls or the furniture. Customer service was super responsive leading up to the day and my movers were fast, friendly, and professional! Nothing got lost and nothing was broken or scratched. They even helped me with setting up my fish tank because the wiring is tricky based on the positioning of my bookshelf, which is above and beyond in my books! Watch out for scammers when looking for moving companies!! You're gonna want to go with one that's as reliable as this one. I highly recommend Alliance! If you end up going with them, for the initial payment I recommend you prepare a cashier's check in advance and then use cash for any additional costs (like boxes you need on the day of). I used Alliance for a local move in July. All in all it was a below average experience using them. Positives : 1 They came to my house prior to the move to give an assessment of the work, good point especially during covid times. 2 The movers did their work fast. 3 Prices quoted by them were competitive. Negatives : 1 Before the movers started their work, the movers made their tip known and it felt that they would not start their work unless I agreed to it. Felt like a shakedown. 2 The number of movers were reduced without my knowledge. I had to haggle for a discount, it wasn't given upfront. 3 Saw the movers eating some of my food. Not cool helping yourself to food without asking. 4. Never received the receipt for my payment, movers said the office will send and the office never replied to my email. read more

Craig gave us an in-person estimate of $2000 for the move. We pointed out a large china cabinet we owned that the last movers had trouble with. He said it would be no problem. He also said that the price he quoted was the most it would be and that he never has a job that exceeds his estimate. As soon as the actual movers saw it, they said there was no way they could get it up 3 flights of stairs to our new apartment. They charged us an extra $500 to move the china cabinet from our apartment to their storage facility in Rolling Meadows. Had we known the china cabinet couldn't be moved to our new apartment, we would have sold it. But once it was moved to storage, we couldn't sell it because we had no pictures of it. read more

I reached out originally through Yelp to inquire about pricing. After talking to several companies, their prices were comparable. The entire team that I came in contact with either through email, phone, or in person was great. At first I did not get my preferred arrival time. However, they had a cancellation and called to see if I wanted an earlier time. I was very happy they did! They called to ask me for an estimated inventory to give me an estimate of time and cost. When the team arrived, the estimated time was higher. However, the crew finished in a time in between. I appreciated a call when the team was about 30 minutes away to alert of arrival. My crew of Frank, Alberto, and Eduardo were fantastic. They were moving the entire time. My stairs slowed them down a little bit, but were not standing around like I have read about other companies. They were wonderful, from start to finish! I called less than 24 hours before I needed the move, and they fit me in the schedule. They gave me a minimum of 2 hours and were done well before the minimum. They were very transparent with me about the quality of my furniture before packing it into the van, and they were very considerate of my things. Once we got to my new place, they asked for placement before placing my large items, to refrain from me having to move it later. They were very attentive to how I labeled the boxes and placed them in their corresponding rooms without me even asking. I can't thank them enough. 10/10 recommend read more

Updated after our move-in experience following the move-out after a flood. BUYER BEWARE! You will have a three-hour minimum charge. If they send extra men and they finish the job faster, you will be forced to pay each of those extra men extra money... I just lost over $200 this way, and only figured out the 3-hour minimum AFTER I tipped in cash as they were leaving after only 2 hours of work. This feels predatory and unfair, and I wanted to make sure others did not fall prey to the same issue. This was a very unpleasant sour note after an otherwise excellent experience with this company. I tried hard to be as helpful and cooperative as I could with them, and this felt like a real kick in the teeth. read more
