I was in limbo with my moving shipment dates to Chicago as Uhaul did not provide an accurate ETA, so I had to keep communicating to Donna the changing dates. The uhaul shipment ended up arriving on December 24 which was not ideal due to the holiday, but 2 guys and a van were able to accommodate. Everything was moved in within the time window provided in the estimate. They also wrapped up some of the antique items to prevent damage. Would book these guys again. None of my property was damaged throughout my move, so I definitely will use them again if I move within the city once more, I also appreciate the transparent prices that they list on their website inventory form. Given the furniture that I had for my one bedroom moving into a studio and then back into a another one bedroom. I had scheduled a two-stop move--first my boyfriend's, then my own apartment--several weeks in advance with this company. They called the day before to confirm everything, and it seemed all set and ready. Today, the scheduled move day, I was told the movers would arrive between 1-4pm, and they would notify me at least 30 minutes before they were on their way. All my stuff was packed and ready, and I was anxiously waiting to hear from them. I received no updates until 3:30pm.--not even a text--which I understood given how busy moving days are, so I expected them closer to 4pm I called just to gauge the situation, and I was told the movers were running a bit behind because the previous job took more time, but they would be heading over very soon. Then, I received a call from one of the men who was supposed to drive my truck, and he told me he was still in Grayslake--about 1.5 hours away--and they hadn't left yet, but he would inform me once they departed. I was obviously very upset because it was around 4:30pm, and they still hadn't left. I called the office manager around 5pm to express my frustration and ask for help. She said she had another crew coming to help get started but that they hadn't left yet and also needed to stop for food first. I understood slight delays and that employees need to eat, but she still couldn't give me a confirmed ETA. I asked if they could move us out the following morning instead, since we had been pushed back so far, but she said they were booked for the next few days, so that wasn't possible. When I asked why it was okay for them to push back our reservation but not others scheduled later, she told me, "you were not pushed back, you are still getting moved today." I believed her and kept waiting for the "new crew" that was supposedly 30 minutes away but still had to stop for food, and the old crew supposedly coming to take over (both had left, according to the manager). We hadn't heard from anyone, and by now it was 6pm, so my boyfriend called the first mover who had updated me, and he still hadn't left. We realized we were probably being strung along and taken advantage of, so I had to cancel at 6:30 p.m., after more than five hours of waiting and being told "they are coming today." This behavior is highly unprofessional and unacceptable for a customer paying over $1,000 or for any service. I strongly advise avoiding this company--especially if yours isn't the first move of the day--because they don't seem to care about your time at all. read more

Terrible experience. I'm writing this review in the hopes of saving someone the mess I had to deal with. The movers broke the door to my building and damaged several pieces of my leather furniture. For months, they refused to pay me the money they owed on my damage claim unless I signed a settlement saying that I would not write or say anything negative about them. (So FYI, if they damage your stuff, they try to make it so you can't write a review. That's why they have few bad reviews on here.) I told them several times via email and phone that I was not interested in signing the contract, especially since they owed me the money based on Illinois Law. Then they would either ignore my message, or they would follow up saying they would not pay me unless I signed the contract. This is how one of many phone calls with Donna went: I told Donna I was following up on my damage claim and have not received the money I was owed. Donna said she doesn't handle that part of the business, and she would have Nick the claims guy get back to me via email. (Donna had said this to me in prior conversations, and Nick either didn't get back to me or ignored what I said and told me I needed to sign the settlement.) I told her I would like to talk to Nick via phone, and Donna said he's not there. So I asked for Nick's, number and she, got defensive and said she doesn't give out personal numbers. I said I was of course asking for his work phone number, and she said it's the current one she was using. After many phone calls and emails over multiple months, they eventually did pay me the money from my damage claim, but it was a massive pain. Go with another mover. read more

The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because they are definitely not gentle with your stuff. That said, they are generally careful and are VERY efficient. I didn't have all the large items of a move. I got rid of my bed and a futon from my guest room. But I had a ton of boxes and the usual other stuff. They sent six rather than four guys and two trucks. These guys had me out of my old place (with 4 floors) and into my new place (a first floor apartment in about 3 hours. They came in well under the estimate and the guys were polite and communicative. I would absolutely use them again. As they mention in their moving prep email they send out, pack your things very carefully as accidents happen (I took my most prized things in my own car) and just relax! read more

My grandma and mom were moving into a place together so it was actually three different apartments and honestly was thinking getting movers was going to be a tedious process, especially since they both decided last minute that movers might be better for all the furniture. I used Yelp to send estimate requests and 2 Guys were the first to respond. I wanted to comparison shop and called some movers and it seemed like there are provisos and addendums that would make their estimates really low. 2 Guys was up front and Donna was quick to answer all my questions and their pricing honestly was the most up front. The day of, Milo, Ivan and Fernando were courteous, friendly and obviously the best quality in movers, efficient. They came within the time window and after walking them through what needed to be moved they got to work immediately. The building being moved into had elevator issues- but they still tried to do their best despite the fact that only one elevator meant people kept using it while they were trying to load up. Despite the setback the move was done in a little over 2 hours, which was just slightly over the estimated time which was still very fast given technical issues during the move. Definitely made the move a lot less stressful and would call them again if I need moving help. read more

I am really struggling to understand how this company is so highly rated. The booking process was positive and easy, but that was about the only positive. We went with them as they were the only company available (we were moving in the 1st of the month and scheduled fairly close to our move date). We were the first move of the day and the movers showed up half an hour after the arrival window (not the end of the world). Once there, the movers were in no rush and one of the crew spent ~10 mins in the restroom which I then had to clean up after once they left. We were moving our things into a storage unit and they were incredibly careless in doing so. Things were stacked in a way where fragile furniture was supporting heavy boxes, ultimately breaking several pieces of furniture. While the movers were friendly, they were not good at their job. Needless to say, when we move into our new place in a few months we will be going with a different company. read more

Hired these movers after indicating I had large pieces they brought a truck that was too small. They overcharged me because of two trips that had to be made as a result of their improper planning. In the process the team split up and damaged a dresser, dining chairs, stacked boxes in one heap labeled do not stack breaking candle sticks and a sound bar. Management quickly dismissed items as being excluded in their insurance and did not admit fault in their failure to provide a truck adequate to the manifest items. This is the first time I've ever used movers. You know how they always say don't take the lowest estimate? Well I got estimates from the top 3 moving companies in the Chicago area, and 2 Guys came out as the lowest. Since the rating was so high I went with them. By the way, the estimate and booking process was as easy as sending 1 email. The guys called 25 minutes ahead of time and showed up on the dot. Johnny, Anthony, and Derron were the friendliest guys you'll ever meet. It was like meeting friends you've had for years. Anyway, they got started right away and knocked out my 1BR apartment in less than an hour. They were also accommodating to my crazy cats who like to try to escape. After meeting them at my new apartment in Lakeview, they took care of parking right in front of the apartment while I got the keys. When I finally secured entry, they went straight to work carrying all my worldly possessions up 4 flights of stairs quicker than I could have ever imagined. Oh, by they way, this was all with 1 fewer man than the estimate stated. However, they still finished the move, to the exact minute, with 3 guys instead of 4. Because of this, the total amount due was over $200 less than the estimate quoted me. Basically, these guys cost me half of the other quotes I got! I used this company to move from the city to the suburbs in October 19. The home office was very quick to respond to all my questions, even after hours, and the guys were all so nice and helpful. I was worried about them not handling my furniture well because of a past negative experience so I wrapped a lot of stuff ahead of time, but even so they went out of their way to make sure my stuff was protected. I think one piece of feedback is that they did need to use some of my tools to take off my door in my apartment complex, and needed to take my bed frame apart, and they did not have some of the basic tools to do so, so I lended them my tools. I would recommend the guys come with more of a variety of tools and parts to assist customers. Otherwise amazing service and price. Easy payment method, too - credit card. read more

Our 2 bedroom move was estimated to take 4 hrs 45 min but they got it done in 3 hrs 30 min. They were very nice and organized. I also appreciated how responsive and nice Donna was in helping us set up our move. I found it difficult to know what our exact inventory would be before we were all packed and Donna accommodated all of our updates as well as answered all our questions. Everything went smoothly! Booking process was relatively painless. They gave me a base price of $305 initially for 2 hours, but after I gave them an itemized list of the items that needed to be moved (we didn't have a lot considering the size of our house), they lowered the price to $265. This was the cheapest price we had found after consulting 3 other moving companies. So, on the day of, they said they would come between 1-4 and arrived at 2:45. Started at 3 and finished around 4:15. We had a few heavy/awkward items that needed to go upstairs and they were quick and efficient with it, although I think I got one small ding on my ceiling. No big deal. I also accidentally underpaid them and they were nice enough about it. We met up to pay the rest and he was very understanding. I had one small comment, though, I had $280 on me and no change. It would be a nice courtesy if the company would consider having their movers carry change for these instances.
