As they say, 3rd time's a charm so when I contacted MOOvers, I was so grateful that they had availability for Friday morning. After our move I mistakenly thought an item was left on a truck. My son and I went over to the business and asked if it might be in their lost and found. A manager, maybe the owner, generously showed us the area where lost items might be, he walked us around the facility, and gave my son a hat and sweatshirt! Trust the reviews - these guys are fantastic. We moved 45 mins away. They were flexible on dates, offered a reasonable price, and the estimate was exactly what we paid at the end of the day. The most impressive part was that they moved our whole 2-bedroom apartment into our new house in under 8 hours. They arrived at 8am, had the whole place packed and loaded by 1pm, and unloaded and reassembled furniture in exactly the right places in our new home by 4:30pm. We were so impressed - nothing was damaged or broken, so we didn't even need the extra insurance we purchased. They were very careful with our items (we had a lot of glassware, stemmed wine glasses, porcelain and stoneware dish sets, electronics, etc.) and very heavy (iron frame solid wood) furniture. My desk set must weigh 250 pounds at least, and they had no trouble getting it disassembled, reassembled, up and down and stairs. These guys made moving SO EASY. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. I moved in March of 2023 and have to say this company, its management and staff are BEYOND STELLAR! I called and spoke with Moses- the owner and he asked me for my moving date and we spoke about the amount of things that needed to be moved, the time frame to move from one place to another including the reservations of moving out elevators versus moving in elevators. He gave me a reliable quote. On the day of the move Moses assured me that the driver of the moving truck was also the Foreman in charge of the move. Felipe Vazquez was the Foreman for Moovers Chicago, Inc. Felipe was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, thoughtful and efficient. He was "hands on" in all activities including supervising Wilian and Brayan. All three Moovers members worked together and were careful and thoughtful about shrink wrapping, filling boxes and taping them up carefully. Very strange: first, the yelp phone number answers in a different business name. When you call the number on their website, you get transferred to what sounds like the yelp number. After waiting, you have to deal with an AI voice (that doesn't tell you it's AI at first) that intakes your information, confirms your phone number, and says they'll get back to you. Front Office: 3 Stars Edgar & Moving Crew: 5 Stars, maybe even 6 Stars My wife had reached out to several moving companies to get estimates for our move from our Chicago condo to our new home in the suburbs. There was quite a bit of back and forth with the front office to come to an agreement on a rate and quote of charges for a move which was frustrating and almost had us going with a different moving company. Eventually we were able to come to an agreement on an hourly rate and some miscellaneous items that we thought would need special care and booked with Moovers. Come the day of moving, Edgar and crew gave us a heads up call and arrived on time and got to work right away. I have to commend them on their efficiency and handling our stuff with care. Our move ended up only taking 5 hours opposed to the original 10 hours or so that we had been quoted. Pretty fantastic as you do get charged hourly. Once they had finished unloading the last item. Edgar walked us through the proposal charges in detail and worked with us to dispute unnecessary charges for a 2nd truck which wasn't used and packing material for our dining table which should have been just charged for a standard 60 inch round table and materials. Talk about honest and detail oriented. Edgar's leadership and transparency made for a very smooth and efficient moving day. While I didn't particularly care for dealing with front office and management, I really hope they consider moving Edgar into the front office or manager position at some point in the future. They could really use someone that is clear in communication and could probably do a much better job of providing a more accurate quote. These people are amazing at their jobs!!!! We hired them for packing up and loading a truck for our 4 bed house. They were friendly, professional, efficient, and so so competent. They thought of everything from labeling boxes, to keeping hardware with furniture, to using up our recycled packing materials before new boxes that they brought. I would hire them a thousand times over, they made our move so stress free. The scheduling was also easy and our move coordinator was always in touch and easy to reach leading up to our move. This review has been a long time coming because of the mental anguish I suffered as a result of hiring this company...I wanted to submit a thorough account of my experience.. Moving is a monumental transaction and even though I Google searched all of the How-to & don'ts of moving, never did I read any content on what I would later experience as piracy. Let's get the financial details out of the way...The entire transaction cost me ~$25k all nearly entire green paper money cash because of their limited acceptable forms of payment in addition to substantial service fees. I hired Moovers in the summer of 2022 to move me out of my home of 35 years. They moved my 3 bed 2 bath home first into storage and re-delivered ~6 months later. (I originally posted pics implying a job well done which later proved me wrong.) To start, upon move-out day they brought an additional worker than originally quoted. Within minutes after arrival their crew of 7 were scampering throughout and emptying-out my entire house. Sounds good right but my head was spinning. They shrink wrapped &/or re-boxed absolutely everything including a pillow, all at *additional costs. (I believe my original quote was ~$18K). Any of my previous attempts to segregate items not for move were either un-noticed or ignored until I didn't know any better. Needless to say it was an emotional time yet I still treated the workers to food and beverages in addition to a generous cash tip which the crew chief continuously plugged the entire day. Upon redelivery the same whirlwind ensued including food, beverages & cash tips. In fact I allowed them to take all the bevvies home that day...however they expanded my generosity to include my set of ratchet screw drivers. BTW the same issue occurred during the move-out with my drill which I fortunately recovered same-day. Because of these two similar experiences, it seemed apparent that they had a keen eye and skill at "casually" procuring popular items. Because my new location was still under reconstruction when my belongings were re-delivered, it was many weeks before I un-packed and eventually discovered that the "one" missing box was my jewelry collection. (I am manifesting just for evidence and sadly have given up on any thought of recovery.) This collection contained pieces such as Tiffany's silver mesh, genuine crystal beaded necklace and bracelets, genuine pearl choker in a Wieboldt's velvet bag, ivory cameo pendant, amethyst pendant, my Mother's gold locket (that I bit while teething,) to sentimental items such as my class ring, the charm bracelet I received upon my First Communion (plus 30 yrs of charms), vintage turquoise, silly clown & reindeer lapel pins my Dad brought home from work trips, a rosary blessed by Pope Paul VI, the picture charms of my kids and lastly my puka shells. I know what you're thinking, who steels puka shells?! UGH! HOW DID THIS HAPPEN TO ME??? Did I or didn't I take better precaution??? I thought I had. I have searched my mind many many many times over as to how this happened and I can't escape thinking I'm responsible and that really sucks! This should not be on me. Oh and yes, I did call Moovers several times and they had no idea what happened to my box and offered zero re-compensation or gave zero-sh*ts. I'm only responsible for being kind. I do not recommend this company even to a hermit crab and suggest you literally cover your assets regardless who you use. But don't give up on kindness...hopefully will prevail. read more

My now wife and I used Moovers for a third time and once again they did not disappoint. This time a state move from Chicago to Charlotte. We were nervous about the logistics of moving half way across the country and Moovers just made it so easy for a fair rate. 2 day guaranteed delivery, pack up, unpack, same truck and same team for both halves. So much easier than doing Pods, hiring moving companies in each city, and getting your stuff 8 days later. About $2k more expensive but so worth it in my opinion. Edgar and his team were awesome. I moved 2 weeks ago Thursday, April 4th. I was moving within my same building from the 3rd floor to the 1st. Daniel was my main contact. They arrived promptly at 8am after I was given an arrival time of 8-9am. These 2 gentlemen were so fast and efficient. Not a single item was damaged or messed up in any way at all. Everything was handled carefully and they listened to where I wanted things. They helped me set up a rug I purchased before bringing down the furniture to go on it. I was having trouble unscrewing my modem from the wall and they helped me. They brought all my plants down carefully. I just can't say enough. Overall they were so efficient and fast, on smaller items they were careful and considerate. All my furniture was taken apart and put back together without an issue. As I mentioned above, I expected to lose something in the move. Something always breaks, not bad movers but even sloppy packing on my part. But literally, not a single item was lost in the move. No wild shifting of items in the boxes. Finally, they completed the job 30 min over the quoted time.
