However, I would describe Sharon's Totally Tidy Maids service as unethical in the end. I paid nearly $300 and they only cleaned the living room, two bathrooms, and kitchen (leaving dust on the top of the refrigerator. Only half the kitchen was clean after inspection). They didn't even clean my two bedrooms. I gave them a chance to redeem their unethical behavior by asking for a discount if I let them return. Sharon had the nerve to quote me regular prices instead. I didn't even receive a receipt for their quote-on-quote work, though I was told I would receive one along with pricing if I used them again, and a week later, nothing. One has to wonder about quality when the individual pays that much money and doesn't even have a clean place in the end. The two maids clearly went slow on purpose, cleaning minor things and "working on it" for thirty minutes to an hour. I was looking for a maid service to use for the future, but they cleaned as though I wasn't going to use them again So, they sucked up time and got what they could out of me. Being that they charge by the hour and went slow, it is easy to see that this company is more of a cheap scam type business. Had I paid what I paid and ended up with a clean place, I would have been satisfied. However, I still had a dirty place. It is indeed very hard to find a good maid service in Houston, this company is not one of them. Edit (03/03/11 for review posted 9/12/10): Notice in the owner, Sharon's comment below, she didn't apologize for the disservice and dissatisfaction with which I experienced or offer a resolution. Instead, she attempted to insult me with her lies. When you clean a bottle of shampoo for 30 minutes, it isn't called working, it's called scamming people, so what I wrote was true. If you know what's good for you, you will not do business with Totally Tidy Maid Service or that person. I am glad this review was helpful to some of you. P.s. 09/21/2011 I have yet to receive a single letter about taking this review down or been served with anything. They have been the most wonderful maid service we have ever used. Our house sparkles after their visits. We also have pets and they have always made a moment to say hi and get our fur babies used to them as well. I experienced several occasions where a scheduled appointment would be changed at the eleventh hour. In January, I was notified around midnight that my cleaning for the next morning would not occur. In February, I was notified once again but my scheduled appointment was honored and he actually mentioned that he thought he was fired. Something I didn't give much thought to until March when I received a message that the appointment booked about 2 weeks in advanced would need to be changed due to a scheduling conflict. The notification of course came around 10pm. Less than 12 hours before the expected appointments time. I asked why and the response was that he did not see the calendar until now. I thought about this and realized there is a lack of accountability here and a growing trend of unprofessionalism I no longer wished to condone. I hope they are able to recover from whatever is the cause of this and wish them the best of luck.

After explaining my concerns to Ronny (I could see that the ceiling fan was shaking) he told me that the fan just needed to be balanced but he wasn't sure how much that would cost to do. He guaranteed that the fan was safe, however. I suspected that this was not the case, and so I called our electrician to come out. It was revealed that instead of securing the fan with a box, Ronny's man screwed the fan into a piece of wood with cabinet screws, leaving the fan in danger of falling out any time it was turned on. We are getting the problem fixed now, but I cannot recommend this company for anything electrical. I reached out to Ronny after he left to tell him of my disappointment, even asking if there was a job that he did really well that he could do so that he can try to give me better representation of his company so I can leave a better review. He told me he would have another of his technicians call me but that was over a week ago and I have not heard from them. At this point, time is up and I must review him based on the info at hand - a poor, unsafe and now expensive job indeed.
