Sparkling clean was hired on January 15, 2025 and didn't begin any work on the pool until July 2025. They drained our pool in January and then it sat for 6 months. When it was finally done late last fall, it had all sorts of issues. There were multiple deficiencies and safety concerns like drilling into a UL certified light niche, lack of equipotential bonding grid, installation of gutter fittings below the intended surface, situating equipment in a lower lying area that resulted in flooding, placing electrical components in dangerous spots and leaving discolored edging. Both pool and electrical work were performed without the necessary permits. They have not fixed the multiple issues and we are now left with no working pool 1.5 years later! This company has gone downhill significantly. Customer service is poor, and it's very difficult to get them to come out for repairs. We've had our pool for a year, and issues have persisted since installation. There are cracks in the pavers, the pool was built shallower than disclosed, and the deck is smaller than what was outlined. The mechanical equipment has never worked properly and still isn't fixed a year later. Communication is extremely frustrating--the technician they send out doesn't respond and even pretended to be someone else when I tried to call him back. I would not recommend this company. Our experience with Sparkling Kleen Pools& Spa was fantastic. from day one when Julie came to our home for the estimate through today when Neon came to power wash the job site area and he was on site when the pool was drained. He was very polite and respectful of the property and did his job completely and efficiently. All in all we are very happy with the project and feel that Sparkling Kleen Pools was very reasonably priced. We knew we had leaks in the 30 yr old pool, we just purchased the house 11/24. I had a leak detection company come out to locate leaks. They found the leaks and wanted a ridiculous price to fix them without changing any water line tile or resurfacing. What we paid for this project was very reasonable and we have an awesome new pool. The office staff were awesome keeping me up to date on timelines during the project. Maria was always pleasant and accommodating when I called. A special shout out to Spencer the project manager on the project. He was very hands on and communicated daily on the progress of the project. He explained step by step the project plan. He answered every question I would have and he was very knowledgeable about pool refinishing and remodeling seeing that this was something we were not familiar with. really no stars... ...........according to our HOA , the commercial resurface and pool pits were being replaced in JAN 2025. today its OCTOBER yes OCTOBER 21 and guess what.? leaking pool, wrong tile, wrong pressure hoses, electrical issues, now possibly wrong pits. maybe now have to rip up all pavers to fix hoses that control water flow. We recently completed a whole renovation of our pool and patio lanai deck area with Sparkling Kleen Pools and Spas, Inc. and can truly state that we are thrilled to have the whole project done. It took us over a year from start to finish, due to Covid, supply issues, quality of products received, skill trade availabilities, and the previous Sparkling Kleen office staff lack of communication. However, thanks to Krystal the current operations manager we prevailed. Krystal was responsive and professional, and focused to ensure that every detail of our job was fully completed to our 100% satisfaction. She did that successfully! In Nov 2020, we started by getting a quote from Sparkling Kleen and others. I have to say, I was partial to Sparkling Kleen for my mother had used them and they had done an outstanding job resurfacing her pool. At the end of the day, Sparkling Kleen carefully selects the manufacturers they use, they guarantee their work, and their pricing is competitive. Given the Covid issues with workers and product availability, we felt going with an established local company like Sparkling Kleen was a smart choice. We were not disappointed. In March 2021, we finalized the product selections and signed the contract. Our project consisted of resurfacing the pool, removal of the old marcite, adding waterline tiles, installing a new filter, inline chlorinator and an LED pool light. We also added renovating the pool patio deck by having new pavers installed. Sparkling Kleens' various teams were able to complete all the work by August 2021. No small task during Covid. Pavers need to settle and acclimate before being sealed. As we waited, we started to notice some discoloration with the pavers. Called Krystal, she stopped by that same week. She looked and agreed there was a definite manufacturer product issue with some of the pavers. Krystal's previous paver experience and timely communication with the Florida paver manufacturer resulted in the delivery of new pallets to replace the defected pavers. Krystal and the Sparkling Kleen crews came back, removed the defected pavers and re-did the pool pavers in one day. The patio looks amazing. Nikki was super helpful on the phone and found an appointment time that worked for my busy schedule. Spencer, the tech came out as scheduled and figured everything out. I hired Sparkling Kleen to resurface my Pool. When they emptied the pool they sent an unlicensed tech who disconnected the timer leaving a hot wire exposed. When the work was complete they filled the pool but did not inspect the wiring. The pump was turned on and with in an hour the timer blew out and partly melted. This then blew out the timer, pump, wiring, and circuit board to the solar system. The repairs came to $2200. They offered me $300. They then sent their hatched man to the house to deny any responsibility. He is an abusive, nasty individual. Think carefully before hiring this company. read more

We had Sparkling Kleen do a pool remodel for us earlier this year. The paver company delivered the wrong pavers initially which delayed start a few weeks. Pacer company at Sparkling Kleens request made a special production run for us and delivered the new pavers about 2 weeks after their mistake. While this delayed completion a few weeks I can honestly say these guys are amazing and the completed job is awesome. I highly recommend them. Initially there was an issue with spillover but the company resolved it with a redesign that made the final project perfect. They stuck in there until we were perfectly happy with the results. During construction we were in and out of town. They accommodated us so that construction would only happen when we were on site. Each crew's attention to detail was impressive, from prep crew, plater drew, tile crew and paver crew. Weeks after completion they sent over a company to pressure clean, resand and seal the pavers. Communication from the Sarah at the office staff during the project was exceptional. They kept us aware at each step, let us know what to expect and answered our questions immediately. read more

Concrete was thrown in nine different areas on my garden which contains bromeliads, orchids Earth boxes killing many plants. After that nightmare was over they forgot to seal the main drain before filling the pool. The next day the pool had leaked all the chemicals that were put into seal the Finish back into my property. Had someone come out a week later after we put countless amounts of water into the pool to keep the new finish to still cure. Now I seem to really care or think that it was an emergency it took weeks for them to properly fix it which the pool is never drained so we will probably always have a small leak in the main drain. I wish I had my old pool back and my beautiful garden the way it was before they came on my property. Very disturbing experience! read more

My pool developed a significant crack in the wall by one of the returns. On recommendation of a business acquaintance we has the owner come out and give us an estimate. The owner was impressive. He was professional and said he was an engineer. How could one not trust this guy? We agreed to have them do the work, fix the crack in the wall, correctly, and resurface the entire pool. The job was done in April of 2020. The pool began leaking heavily a few months later. The water from the leak entered my workout room, and seeped through the exterior walls of our home. The repairs to the walls cost thousands and our water bill said we had used 30,000 gallons of water. They set their guy out after 2 weeks of me calling and calling. Finally, he came and epoxied around the main drain. Little did I know the "fixed" crack was leaking. Now, a new pool contractor tells me the crack was only covered and not fixed to standards used by the pool repair industry. So, after a year and a half, I am faced with a big repair bill. The wall of the pool needs to be reopened and proper crack repair done. The new contractor says the resurface job was poorly executed and he wants to resurface the entire pool again, less than 15 months after Sparkling Kleen did the job. I am back at square one. Sparkling Kleen took my money and I have a pool leaking as badly as it did before they did their "repair". read more

Sparkle Kleen Pool We signed a contract April 5th, to have Coping and  water line tile replaced and resurfacing of the pool.  On the contract we indicated it needed to be done by July 15th as we were going out of town.  We were assured it would be done and be a 3-4 day project.  May 27th-initial Coping delivered to the driveway-unannounced and left by the road (instructions were to leave by the garage) June 5th-Water was drained from the pool to initiate project June 7th-Sparkle Kleen called to say the wrong product was delivered and they would be exchanging it for the correct product. The following week they came to deliver the Coping and were going to drive off WITHOUT picking up the incorrect product.  After they left, my husband looked at what was delivered and it was AGAIN the wrong Coping.  He called Sparkle Kleen to let them know the wrong product was again delivered. Sometime around that time, they also delivered the supplies for doing the resurface of the pool, with the WRONG COLOR delivered.  They came to resurface, realizing the color was incorrect and left that day. The project manager came out, saying they didn't want to resurface until after the Coping was completed, but we still did not have the right Coping.  We called the company on vacation, June 21ST and were told the correct coping would be delivered JULY 12th.-6 WEEKS AFTER THE ORIGINAL WRONG PRODUCT WAS DELIVERED. Prior to July 12th, we watched the company come and complete the resurfacing of our pool, prior to the Coping being completed.  July 13 and 14 we watched them complete the Coping on the pool and returned home later in the day on the 14th.  When they left they covered the Coping with plastic due to weather. The following day, we anticipated someone would be by to "Clean the Pool" which was a total mess with sand/dirt/unable to see the bottom.  The pool was A MESS.  When no one showed up Thursday or Friday morning,  my husband began cleaning the pool.  Late Friday afternoon, a young man came to check the chemicals and had a sweeper with him.  This would not have been sufficient for cleaning the pool had we not spent two days cleaning it.  He was pouring acid into the pool, right over our step into the pool and other areas. Throughout this process we had MINIMAL communication from Sparkle Kleen. People came and went as needed, if one team was here, they could not answer any questions or assist with other questions.  The lack of communication was amazing, especially when two employees commented "The communication with this company is awful" After 2 months of having pallets of the wrong product in our driveway, we started getting letters from our HOA to have them removed.  It still took 2 more weeks for Sparkle Kleen to get the product removed. END PRODUCT: For the most part, the pool turned out ok, however, we have white stains on the step into the pool as well as a couple areas around the bottom of the pool.  When we made that final payment, they assured us it was just the pool "curing" and they would go away.  The stains remain and have not faded away. read more

CAUTION, CAUTION CAUTION: This pool company is interested in one thing only MONEY!!! Their office managers give good lip service but nothing gets done in a timely fashion. I contracted to renovate and refurbished my pool and pavers in the lanai. The job should have taken 6 weeks leaving plenty of time for any delays, and now were into 3 months and were not done. The first problem we had was the crew manager didn't read the contract. We contracted for 4 steps and we got 3. Yes they fixed it but this should be done first time. This turned out to be a common problem. They installed a new water fall and didn't hook up the water supply! The new pool light wasn't installed until after the pool was filled. The surface had white streaks that couldn't be fixed over and over. I can go on and on but I won't waste your time the bottom line is that these delays caused us to loose use of the pool. Sparkling Clean made sure they collected all their money before they got the rails installed. The real problem is we never have been able to use the pool and were going to our second home for the next 6 months. As I'm handicap my needs are different than most people, and I really needed to be able to get in the pool but not without rails! Caution use this pool company at your own risk. I requested and scheduled numerous repair appointments. The company and or employees just blew off the appointments without notification. Recently the owner contacted me and wished to discuss what he would be willing to do to remedy my situation. I asked for his proposal to be put into writing, since I had been lied to in the past. This review is coming from a 20 year pool professional who has taken care of many pools that have been resurfaced by Sparkling Kleen. I will say that most of them have been a good job but none of that matters when they do not stand behind their work on a bad job. I have a customer who paid a lot of money to have the pool and pool deck resurfaced, within six months hydration started showing through the surface which is gray stains caused during the curing process. Almost all research you do would point to something during curing of the surface. They blamed it on poor pH causing scale which interfered with the curing process, and there is absolutely no evidence of any scale whatsoever and I have done many many start ups over the years, any time this issue has come up (which has only been a couple in 20 years) the company that put the surface down made it right by the customer. These guys decided to charge the customer $1200 for a drain and acid wash and in the process convinced her to go with a company they recommend. I don't mind this situation because I wouldn't want to service the pool at this point anyway, the stains are likely to come back and I would not want that to yet again be blamed on me when it is not our chemistry but it is their poor craftsmanship I'm my professional opinion. Poor Communication/Customer Service Contracted with Sparkling Kleen to resurface our pool and upgrade our pool deck with pavers on 12/17/2020. Were told it would be 6-8 weeks before commencement. At 7 weeks, I telephoned and was told they would start the last week in February (10 weeks later). At almost 12 week's since contracting with them, I was told the pavers would finally be delivered on 3/9/2021. Many telephone calls later listening to many different employees, including the owner Mike Yohan himself pass blame, the pavers were finally delivered and work began on 3/11/2021. A 7-10 day project quickly came to a halt when they ran out of pavers... again, the blame was passed between Covid 19 and the paver manufacturer, Flagstone, depending on who I spoke with. Seems like a measuring issue to me. This job has been riddled with shoddy workmanship and miscommunication since they stepped on my property. While the pool resurfacing was satisfactory, the paver job was a NIGHTMARE. Once the paver crew (who are most definitely sub contractors despite the owner promising everyone on site works for him and are "NOT subs") finally arrived to complete the job, I found out they don't actually know how to lay pavers correctly. Not only were they uneven on almost the entire deck surface, there were many chipped pavers, saw marks on top of the pavers from cutting pavers on top of placed pavers, they laid a crooked drain, another drain 7 inches into the grass, cemented one of my sprinklers, left a huge gap between the house and the drain, poured concrete without a form and left a HUGE mess. I actually felt sorry for the two guys that came to attempt to rectify the issues, as they had NO idea what to do and were unable to communicate with me. More than two months after they started, the owner showed up (wanting his money) refusing to discuss the issues of his company's shoddy workmanship, lack of communication, and lack of customer service. He held my warranty paperwork hostage, promised the broken pavers would be fixed, the drain would be raised, and pavers sealed by the end of the week. Once again, their communication is lackluster at best. I received an email stating they would be here "first thing in the morning" ... haha ... it's 5:00 in the afternoon and they've yet to arrive. LOOK ELSEWHERE! Definitely not the company to go with if you're looking for a "job well done" and no headaches. read more

My name is Marvin Schemenauer, and I live in the North Port, FL area and about two months ago I started looking around for contractors that would resurface and re-tile my in-ground pool. In the next 6 weeks I received bids from approximately 22 contractors. Out of those, I narrowed it down to three companies that I felt reasonably comfortable going forward with in checking their references, prior customer satisfaction, meeting the necessary insurance requirements that contractors and sub-contractors need to carry, etc, I also wanted to try and find a company that didn't have sub-contractors perform the work for them. Preferably, I wanted to hire a company in which all workers were direct employees of the company - whereas responsibility and quality were foremost of importance to the organization. Out of the remaining three, the was only one company that stood and that was SPARKLING KLEEN. After meeting with Dennis, I was totally sold in having Sparkling Kleen do the work to my pool. Dennis was just a true, down-to-earth consummate sales professional who explained in meticulous detail the entire process to me. The next day Julie (Sparkling Kleen's Office/Project Manager) followed up with me and at that point I signed a contract to have the work done. The very next week Sparkling Kleen started on my pool and completed it within 7 business days. After that they took care of my pool for 2 weeks before handing it off to my weekly pool service technician. All I can say about Sparkling Kleen is that I'm 120% SATISFIED WITH THEIR WORK !!!! Everyone was AWESOME !! DENNIS AND JULIE WERE THE BEST !! I experienced absolutely no problems, no complaints and no shoddy workmanship. Everything was EXCELLENT !! I was securing bids for some pool work I am planning so I scheduled a 'request for quote' visit with Sparkling Kleen Pools and a person named Moshia came out. He identified himself as the company owner. His aggressive, hard sell approach and misrepresentation did not meet my expectations of a 'customer friendly' service provider. I took a PASS on this one. It was easy to see that this gents demeanor and customer 'unfriendly approach' would not dovetail with my expectations of a positive project outcome. We had our pool resurfaced by Sparkling Kleen. All went well and I was satisfied by the resurfacing. But I paid substantially extra for the "Lifetime Warrantee". At the time, I knew I was going to sell my house soon, so I asked "what happens to the guarantee when I sell ? " and was told that the guarantee would transfer. But I did not receive the guarantee certificate until after the job was done and had paid. So then when I put up my house for sale, I called to get a letter or something to the effect that the warrantee would transfer: crickets. I called several more times and nothing was forthcoming. And when I went back and read the guarantee, it stated it was not tranferrable to a new owner. Other consumers beware of these kinds of verbal promises and ask to see all guarantees in writing before you sign a contract. . read more

As soon as the pool remodel started, that's when all of the issues started. First, with the incorrect tiles going in the wrong location. Second, it took multiple times for the pavers to be corrected. I have a 1980 pool that was neglected by the previous owner and it was in very bad shape when I bought the house. There was literally a hole in the side of the pool the size of my fist! I contacted Sparkling Kleen and Moshe came out and provided a quote. After talking with three sets of friends that contracted with them (and the mile long list of references!) I had the pool resurfaced, pavers, and just recently all new pool equipment installed by them. I wish I could give them 10 stars! Amazing from start to finish - everything is in-house, no subs, and every single employee cares about doing a good job. The office staff is wonderful to deal with and the workers that came out to my house were considerate and extremely hard workers.
