Before leaving the truck, I specifically told the person at the front desk, "Remember, this is an old truck. I am not looking to spend thousands of dollars on it. Please keep that in mind when you look at it." He looked at me and said, "I understand." Later, they called my father and told him the truck needed a completely rebuilt rear end, with a quoted repair cost of approximately $5,700. My father, not realizing how far that exceeded what I had discussed with the shop, initially authorized the work. As soon as I found out, I told him to stop and instructed the shop not to proceed with any repairs. A few days later, we had the truck towed to another repair shop. The repair was completed there for $2,495. That is a difference of more than $3,200. Based on my experience, I believe Drew Street Auto's repair pricing is far too high, and I was especially disappointed that the estimate completely disregarded the conversation I had with them before leaving the vehicle. I would not recommend this shop, and under the current ownership, I will not return.
