Eating with my princess!
Rick B.

Great roadhouse diner! Hostess was friendly and informative; detailing the daily specials and answering Q's about other dishes. Our waitress was also attentive and personable. The entrees are updated versions of American diner staples, very tasty, and the portions are generous. My Baxter Burger had BBQ sauce, bacon, and cheese - on a huge beef patty. I loved it! My wife loved her cheeseburger, but I forgot the name. Garlic Fries are very good, and the Onion Rings are decent. Good Sweet Tea, and a full bar. Need basic American Diner food? Eat here!

Wonderful food and service!! The best hamburger and onion rings. Will definitely be back for another visit

First, let me start by saying that service is absolutely unmatched. The whole sat there and talk to me while I wait for my food it was great. It's definitely a family friendly place, I love that they allow dogs and they do have two patios, which is awesome. I'm in Arkansas for work and it was nice to find a place that had vegetarian and vegan options. I will definitely be back to this place.! The key lime

2.5 out of 5.. really disappointed this establishment had gone way down hill since we were last here. We had cheese fries and an appetizer and they were so soggy, mediocre at best. My husband had the chicken strips which were ok but he said the ones at the Eureka Grill downtown were way better. I had the sparkys burger and it was cooked to the right temperature.. that's all. No flavor at all. I upgraded to have onion rings as a side for 3.50 and got like 6. The soda was also way too surupy. The service was ok he didn't really pay attention to us on a basically empty patio. The hostess however was amazing we were on the patio which was a good temp for late April. There were a few flies but it wasn't too bad.

The cheesy froes

I only had the cheese fries and margarita but 100/10! The food was amazing. My mango margarita was delicious and my husbands effen raspberry lemonade drink was phenomenal!! The server we had was really sweet and answered any question we had! Loved the heated outdoor seating! Prices were fair and large servings!!

I'd eat here again. Great cool patio. Nice burger. The waitress sanitized her hands several times during our stay.

I like the chicken tenders and my dad to cook from there and also the waiters are nice in the outside area. It's nice to go inside.

Amazing food! The door I came in didn't really allow for viewing the rest of the restaurant.

The food is reminiscent of Cracker Barrel. The ambiance is similar too, although, Mae's has many old photos of historic Eureka Springs which I adored. We all shared a piece of possum pie which is a famous layered dessert of Arkansas. I'd never had it, but was dying to try it. Highly recommend. The chicken fried steak is the best. Not greasy. Huge! The gravy is on point. We tried the cream cheese corn and I'd have to say that I thought the green beans are better. The onion rings are incredible! The mashed potatoes are very good. The service is good. The only issue we had was that we had ordered a side order of onion rings. When a huge basket came out, I asked if this was the side order and the waitress quickly commented that she had put it in as a side order but that they sent a whole order. She said she would adjust it but when she brought the check she said that she took off 10%. Quickly doing the math, the basket we were charged for was $11 while the side order is $5. 10% didn't come close and we barely made a dent in the basket of delicious rings. The live music was nice but they might need to tell the entertainer that it isn't meant to be a show, just background. He doesn't need to be the center of everyone's meal. Local Flavor is a must try! You won't be disappointed.

The spinach artichoke dip was a standout, and my pan-seared salmon was flavorful with perfectly cooked, well-seasoned asparagus. My husband ordered the cold-smoked salmon Benedict, which was solid, but the breakfast potatoes were a letdown: overly fried, greasy, and rock hard.

We had a 6:30 p.m. reservation but arrived around 6:00 pm to figure out downtown parking. We expected to wait, but what bothered us was watching two couples with the same reservation time arrive after us and get seated first. We weren't seated until 6:33 pm. The host wasn't welcoming or accommodating. Our server didn't seem to care about us and was not attentive, and she came across as more snobby than friendly. The food, however, was exceptional. The Caesar salad was outstanding, featuring a high-quality eggless dressing with a mustard-forward flavor. The smoked short rib was generously portioned and a great value, especially since many upscale restaurants charge extra for sides. The mac and cheese, had great flavor but was very rich and thick, making it quite heavy. The smoked duck was another standout--perfectly cooked. I think a berry-based sauce would've elevated it even more than the tangy barbecue sauce, but it was still delicious. The restaurant itself has character. In the back, there's a cave-like structure where we were seated, which made the experience feel unique and memorable. I just wish the hospitality had matched the caliber of the kitchen, because no matter how good the meal is, we didn't feel genuinely welcomed.
