Worse. Cab. Service. Ever!!!! Requested a cab for 1:40am two nights in a row to get to work on time. Last night they were 20 minutes late and right now as we speak they are 40 minutes late and counting. Gonna be a half hour late to work. This is the 2nd time I have "reserved" a ride from the airport in advance, just to have them lose the reservation. No apology or acknowledgement that their error has caused great inconvenience. Unacceptable. read more

This company is the worst! DO NOT USE They said they would be 5 minutes and 40 minutes later there was still no taxi. The phone calls went from he'll be there in a few minutes, any second now to "he's oustide" HE STILL WASN'T THERE. Does everyone smoke in Michigan? Is this a thing? Because every single cab in East Lansing wreaks of smoke. I felt sick to my stomach riding in these cars. Also, if you want to pay with credit card, you have to give the dispatch your credit card number. My cab drivers were always late, and they were always in a bad mood. Every single one of them was always having a bad day. One talked to me about slapping people in the face. "Do you want to slap people in the face?" No sir, I want to vomit from the smell of cigs in your gross cab. Taking a cab in East Lansing is like taking a time machine back to 1991. Renting a car next time. read more

Well they were late.... at THE AIRPORT. I called from the airports direct assistance line and I was told my wait would be 15-20 minutes. My wait was 45 minutes. I was late for work. I would have used the other cab company had I known that. I used my card to pay. I checked my account a few days later to see that they pre-authorized a certain amount. I was not told this. I asked and was told that once the ride was over the driver would call and give the amount. They are more expensive than some of the other city cabs. I would not use this company by choice, last resort only. I prefer Green Cab, they are always on time if not early, they process cards fast and they have good customer service. The issue is Green Cab does not have a "permit" to service the airport. Meaning they don't fork over their profits or??? read more

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. made a phone call to arrange a couple cabs to be at the airport and the snottiest woman answered the phone. I really cannot describe how inconvenient she made me feel and that I was just annoying her by calling. Drove way too close to cars in front of it, in spite of poor rode conditions. Almost rear-ended a car, which turned out to have an infant in the back seat... Car slowed down and mother in the passenger seat motioned cab driver to back off... Cab driver sped around car, pulled up beside it, then tried to merge into it. That sort of driving is always unacceptable, but willfully endangering an infant is just disgusting. I don't know if management ever checks these reviews, but if they do, the license plate of the cab was CC 42939 and the incident took place on January 31, 2017. read more

The cab driver was very accommodating and helpful. I needed a taxi from West Lansing to a building on the East side and then back downtown. The driver was friendly and fast. He got me to my destination right in the nick of time. read more

Shady but functional. Always late (ie, you call 20 minutes after your reservation time, and someone shows up by accident another 10 minutes later with no knowledge of any reservation or phone call). Taxi drivers specifically say they expect a tip. I wouldn't NOT tip the driver, but I've never had someone mandate it before. Interesting. read more

Pros: Arrived with only 10 minutes late even if there was a snow storm. The driver was chatty. Cons: Very old car, cigarette smell. Very expensive. I spent $13 when usually I pay $9. I gave $15 and he kept all the money without asking if I wanted the change back. I do not think I will call them again. read more

I wish I would of read the other reviews first. Very rude person on the phone that wouldn't even give me a ball park time when they would arrive to pick me up. After 40 minutes I called to check the status of my cab. The man on the phone grew real agitated with and said real soon. 30 minutes later called central cab got me to my destination before spartan even came. read more

I never give bad reviews - until today. Very poor service. The car stank of cigarette smoke and the driver didn't help with putting our suitcases in the trunk. He popped the trunk latch from his driver's seat and waited for me load. Upon arrival at destination we had trouble getting the van side door open, he just sat and waited for use to get the sticky door open. And again, he sat in his seat and waited for us to unload the suitcases. This driver needs NEGATIVE stars. read more

Called to schedule pick up and dispatcher was rude but I figured that was no reflection of the company so I went ahead and scheduled the pick up! Pick up time comes an no cab shows up so I call dispatcher an his response was rudely telling me to call work an tell them I'm going to be late! Excuse me? !?! I have lived in Lansing and have used Spartan cab on and off for over 20 years. While the drivers have varied from very customer service friendly to not even saying hello and not helping with luggage,. Good drivers knowing the area and getting you there quickly, to drivers who seemed to intentionally take routes that lengthened the trip, one thing has remained consistent: the cold, unfriendly, horrible CSR response when you call for the cab. More often than not the cabs were late, when you call to find out where they are you get the standardized response "your next and they should be there within 15 minutes". This response sometimes would be given to me several times over the course of hours. Yes, I have had multiple rides, pre-scheduled included show upwards of 2 hours after the the expected time. I'm thankful that our area now has a a selection of cab companies to call. This company survives solely because of their length of existence and nationally known name. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I have been harassed and threatened twice in less than a year by the same driver that is employed by this company. Last year he cussed me out, threatened me and started to drive off from my drop off location while my door was open, my leg outside of the door and my foot on the ground being drug. Today when i didnt recognize him he started to take me home, drove a few miles and let me know he was the driver from last year and then turned around and refused to take me home because i got him suspended last year and said i hope he learned a lesson. i have filed a complaint with the BBB and am asking everyone to boycott this cab company until CODY FORSYTHE is fired. Supposed to have 415am pickup. They were late and promised I'd get picked up and to my shuttle on time at 5 for Detroit. I was in town last weekend for a wedding. I arranged a car from Yellow to pick our group up from Radison. After 30 minutes of waiting, I called Yellow and they ackowledge that they made a mistake but still want to charge us??!! I ended up calling Big Daddy who got to us very fast and our driver was the BEST!! I cancelled another trip we had with Yellow and booked it with Big Daddy the follwing night. Again, the service was exceptional, cheap, and the driver was professional. I'm still working to get my money back from Yellow!! read more

The worst service ever. We had come back from Chicago and were waiting outside a restaurant for this cab at 10:30 PM for 50 minutes. When I called to inquire, I was met with this epic rude voice that told me off for calling before 20 minutes were over (apparently it was 17 minutes since the call I made). We waited for 25 more minutes and then called another company. They arrived in under 5 minutes. I just don't understand, if you are that lousy, why bother going on with what you do? I would recommend deleting Spartan cabs from your phones. read more

The male dispatcher who was working on Friday, November 13 around 11:30 p.m. was the worst ever. He was so rude and slammed the phone down on me. I never did get a taxi. Had one horrible experience with them. Would never use again. Called three hours before we needed a cab to the airport, the guy said no problem. When the cab was 15 minutes late with no explanation, I called again. The dispatcher was rude, said he had told the driver to make the pick up, and didn't know anything else. I asked him to contact the driver and find out where he is and is he coming. He yelled "I just cancelled it!" and hung up. I recently had to use this cab as it was the only one available to take me home from the hospital after an emergency. The lady on the phone was rude and while the driver eventually warmed up he refused to take my card as he would "have to pay 15%." He made me stop at a Quality Dairy to pull out cash after I had been hospitalized. While he did get me home safely, it seems irresponsible because you'd prefer cash you actually ask a person to stop at an ATM. I probably will not use this company again. read more

I call for a ride at 3:52pm on 6/15/2017 and let the guy know where i lived and he was not listening maybe because he was on speaker phone, he got off of speaker phone with an attitude and he said how can I help you ma'am I'm saying that I need a cab and i live in Okemos so he says where are you going I said needed to go to work FedEx in lansing and he says well i can not get anyone out there for an half an hour. I let him know that's the thing i need them then he cut me off before i could say when i needed them and he said ma'am you let me ask the questions. I said ask the question then he go you have a nice day and hung up on me. I do not know how they keep in business with people like that working for them. I will make sure that everyone out here in Okemos that i know hear about this company, everybody who live out here in my complex get the flyer i am making up know and let the Neighbors in the other complex across the way know how bad this company is so that they don't use it and they all tell everyone that they know and so on and so on because if this is who is working for this company Sartan Yellow cab company I want them getting our money.
