"Have a nice life!" Yes, that's the real response I received from the owner of the company when I called to get an update on my cab's arrival. Real classy. I am in utter disbelief. I ordered a cab for 9:15-9:30 and called at 9:40 to confirm its arrival since I was still waiting. The person who answered the phone (after two previous calls going unanswered) said that he did not have anything down for that time and that he was the only person there who would have answered the call. I proceeded to provide some detail on the conversation I had at time of booking (it was very specific) and the person said, "I am trying to get you a cab if you would stop babbling." (Direct quote!) In shock, I asked if he was the manager and he said, "No I'm not the manager, I'm the owner!" along with some other incredibly rude remarks and an extremely condescending tone. After that, I informed him that a cab would not be needed after such treatment and he said, "That's fine, have a nice life!" I absolutely cannot believe it. At no point was I rude, condescending, or disrespectful. To be treated so disrespectfully by the *owner* of the company for trying to utilize a service THEY provide is truly shocking. I am appalled and disappointed and encourage anyone trying to use a cab to look elsewhere. If an Uber was available, I would have definitely taken it in a heartbeat but unfortunately none were free at my time of need. I've been using Green Cab since its inception in early 2008. The owner, Woody, is such a cool guy. He started with just one Toyota Prius. I think they have like 3 or 4 of them now, plus a Civic Hybrid. Personally, I enjoy supporting a cab company that tries to help the environment. The rates aren't any higher than the normal taxi goons in this town. I always use Green Cab when I need to be dropped off at the airport. In nearly two years, I've never had a bad experience. To be blunt, there is NO reason to use the other taxi companies in this town when you have Green Cab at your service. They're professional, friendly, and punctual. read more

I reserved a cab one day in advance to take me across town to the Michigan Flyer pickup to DTW (their partner) and was called back 10 minutes prior to pickup stating that they were shorthanded and could no longer pick me up. I normally use yellow cab - but had a new inclination to use a greener/cleaner cab. Looks like Green Cab has still has some work to do with scheduling. Since I have a shuttle and flight depending on my Monday morning taxi every week, I will *not* be trusting that ride to Green Cab. 1 star for the call from dispatch 10 minutes prior, it's better than a no-show. read more

My girlfriends car recently broke down and we have been relying on her getting to work at 530 by calling the Green Cab, every time we call they say the driver will be there in 15 minutes, but every time 30 minutes goes by and we have to call and ask the ETA of the driver. They say 15 minutes. Well today it was 30 minutes past the second 15 minute ETA (total 45 minutes) I set up a Uber account and requested a driver in 1 minute then the cab got to my house in 8 minutes. Sorry to say it but with the emergence of more and more Uber drivers in Lansing you will soon lose you company because of this other amazing company. read more

I met Woody in 2008 when I went car-free in Lansing as a test of my fortitude and convictions. I lived in Lansing but I was doing a training program in Okemos. I couldn't ride my bike or catch a bus to get there in time. Woody was amazing. He was my lifeline throughout a rough winter. His service is prompt, the drivers are knowledgeable. I was driving home tonight along Okemos Rd, when one of their cabs came flying up behind me at at least 10-15mph over the speed limit. They then proceeded to get in the right lane (which was ending in a few hundred feet) and nearly side swipe me trying to pass before the lane ended. I left Lansing to DC not even knowing of this cab company. I was using Spartan, (not that reliable)... Green cab- Excellent service. I called day before for a 7am cab to the airport and it came 10 minutes before. I didn't wait for it as I had done in the past with said company above. I wish I would have known about Green cab prior to leaving Lansing, I would have definitely given them all my business. $12 for 4.4 miles ride. They said something about $2 in and $2 pick up. I had booked the cab for my mom from Lansing to Detroit Airport. She was new to the town and was not feeling well with no availability on phone. Bill picked my mom and he was very courteous and helpful. Since I wasn't able to reach my mom I called them thrice and they gave the current status at all times. When I called Green Cab, i had no idea that I would be signing up for the worst cab experience of my life. When I called, I was told that the cab would be at my door in 25 minutes. Based on this information, I made an appointment that would give the cab driver fifteen minutes of leeway, to account for traffic. 25 minutes passed, and the cab was not there. At 40 minutes, I called Green Cab, and some bitch on the phone told me that she could not give me any information, and that there wasn't a cab on the way at all, because she hadn't assigned one to us. She said "it will get there when it gets there." Suppressing the urge t screech profanities into my phone, I hung up and waited ten more minutes. Then, I called again hoping I could get some definitive answers. My first call was not answered. On my second call, someone picked up then promptly hung up. My third and fourth calls did not receive answers either. I missed my appointment, and even now am unable to contact the company to let them know that I no longer need a cab. This customer service is deplorable, and worse than that, this cab service has no idea how to perform their actual job. I'm giving this cab company two stars because their night drivers and dispatcher are amazing and obviously experienced veteran cab folks. The evening dispatcher has always been able to hook me up with the quickest ride possible, which is usually with their BEST driver ever, Ben (seriously... ask for him, he's awesome). However, their morning folks are a bunch of incompetent mouthbreathers, and I say that nicely. One of their morning dispatchers was always such a D that when I'd hear him answer the phone, my immediate thought was, "Ugh... not this guy..." because I always knew he'd take forever to get someone out my way, as if my time was NOTHING. Earlier this week I swore off this cab company as a resort for a morning cab to work. I'm still going to use them in the evenings, for now, but I had the last straw with them when I had to call for a ride into work a few mornings ago. Here's what happened: - 6am: I call for a ride, I am told it will be about a 30 minute wait - 6:10am: I recieve a call from the dispatcher saying my cab will pick me up in 8-10 minutes - 6:11am: The dispatcher calls again, apologizing because he called the wrong person. Informs me that I will still have to wait about 15-20 minutes. - 6:40am: I call and ask where the heck my cab is. Dispatcher sighs and huffs and goes, "Oh sh*t, I'm sooo sorry. Your cab got a flat tire so it's going to be a while for another driver to come get you." I tell him I HAVE to be at work in twenty minutes, and that a call informing me my cab had a flat tire would've been appreciated (not to mention the professional thing to do). He puts me on hold to call another driver. When I'm taken off hold, he tells me there's another driver about 5 minutes away from me, so he'll send him/her my way. -6:55am: I'm livid at this point, because it's apparent I am going to be late for work, as it's a 15 minute ride from my house to where I work. I call again, and the dispatcher says, "Ma'am, the driver is on your road, but he is having trouble finding your place." I promptly tell him to just call off the driver, because I'm already late for work anyway, and thanks for NOTHING. read more

Had to take a late night Michigan Flyer back from DTW (flight cancelled yet again), arranged a Green Cab pickup in E. Lansing to take me to LAN to get my car (there must be some "arrangement" between MI Flyer and Green Cab because the bus driver gave me their number). They were waiting when the bus pulled up, which was great because it was, by now, 12:30 am and I'd been travelling all day. Got in, driver dude started taking some funky route to the airport which had us in a sketchy part of N. Lansing. The driver pulls off into an unlit, gravel parking lot and tells me that the hybrid is not working right. He shuts it off and then can't get it to turn back on. The makings of a b-grade horror movie. He tries this several times, by now it's 1:00 am. FINALLY he calls dispatch, they tell him to try a couple of things, so he gets out of the car and starts messing around under the hood...in the 'hood. I've been pretty patient up until now, but I would really like to get to my car so I can start the last leg of my journey home. I ask whether they can send another car to get me to the airport. He tells me that it'll take a while and he's not really sure where we are (?!?). At 1:30 he gets a call on the radio that they're on their way, the van they dispatched to pick me up had broken down en route and they had to send ANOTHER car to fetch that driver and then come get me. The woman who brought the replacement vehicle hops into our defunct Prius and fires it right up, no problem. They spend some more time debating about what he tried, what he should have tried, etc. Truly a conversation that did not need to take place in the middle of the night in a Lansing DMZ. She takes off in the Prius and we head to the airport. Finally at the airport at 2:15. No apologies from driver for the cab ride from hell. Tells me it's $12 for the ride. I whip out a $20 and he tells me...get this..that he doesn't have any change. Well, it's all I've got. Unreliable equipment, laughable customer service. Gimme a yellow cab any day. read more

I was in need of a ride for a curbside pickup i had ordered 2 days prior to me having the best Cab/Taxi experience in my life. Truth be told Lyft and Uber Apps had become my thing because I hate talking on the phone. I even forgot there were taxi companies. But when my "stupid" fell off and I was tired of looking for a ride and all Uber and Lyft would tell me for 2 days is that they were searching for drivers. So I called Green Cab and Bill answered and was pleasant and informative. Told me upfront the base mileage cost. After realizing I would get charged 1/3 less than taking 2 Lyfts I was exstatic! Then Rick, the driver made the WHOLE round trip an AWESOME deal. He was so friendly, and I'm sure he sensed I had had a bad day. He lightened my mood, kept me laughing, and made me realize that These Taxi Apps are useless when you have a Cab Company like Green Cab. From the owner/dispatcher to the wonderful driver to the fact that the Taxi was amazingly clean and smelled pleasant... which if you are familiar with typical cabs that is NEVER the case. So Green Cab is officially the FIRST BUSINESS EVER to receive a 5 Star Rating from me. THANKS!! read more

I've been meaning to write a review about Green Cab for awhile now. So, I called for a cab and then went outside to wait for it (after having a few drinks, late at night) and realized it was taking longer than I thought. Turns out I totally gave the wrong address while I was on the phone with the owner of the company, Bill, (he's usually the one answering the phones!). He stayed on the phone with me until the cab got there to make sure I got in safe. Really stand up guy honestly, he did not have to do that. All the drivers are so nice and courteous. A lot of times they have long wait times, just call in advance! They're a smaller cab company so they don't have tons of vehicles on the roads. But, if you're looking for a cab company to get you somewhere safely and efficiently these guys will do it! Amazing customer service. Prices might be a little high compared to other cab companies, but I think it's worth it every time knowing the people who are driving you care about your safety. read more

Green Cab is the worst cab company I've ever used. They have a reputation for overcharging and half the drivers are either high while driving or complete creeps. They are extremely rude on the phone and are frequently late. They treat you like a number, not a customer. read more

I called the day before to reserve a cab for 7:30 am, and the guy on the other end said he'd call at 7 to verify pickup. Sweet! I thought. I had a very important event the next day and I could not be late. I went to bed feeling secure. Oh, how naive I was. 7 am came and went with no phone call, and I started to get nervous. At 7:15 am I decided to call Green Light Taxi back, and no one answered. Neither the dispatch number or the office got me through to anyone, and the driver never showed up. I have no idea what happened but clearly this isn't a company you want to place your trust in. I even emailed the company about the incident, hoping it was something explainable. No answer back. There are so many cab companies in East Lansing, it's just not worth it using this one. read more

Unpredictable customer service. If you are lucky you will get a polite gentleman as a dispatcher . If not you will get the rudest person on earth not accepting her fault and accusing you calling some other number.If you are lucky you will have a polite driver , which some aren't. They either come on time and call you when they are At your door or they will not show for an hour Despite you are calling them each time telling you they are there in10 minutes. So if you are calling this company you never know what are you getting until you see it yourself. If you get one of the lady dispatcher hang up the phone and call other company . I have been meaning to post this review since the summer of 2016, and thought I already had, but am just now seeing it my drafts. I have nothing but great things to say about Green Cab. I am from Kentucky and was traveling alone, so I was nervous to get a taxi from the Lansing airport to surprise my boyfriend who was working in Owosso, MI. Two days before my flight, I looked online for different taxi services and saw Green Cab had great reviews. When I called, I was shocked at how friendly and informative the man was over the phone. After speaking with him, I felt extremely reassured about getting a ride by myself. The day of my flight, I landed in Lansing to a text from the owner of Green Cab telling me what he was wearing and what car he would be in. When I came outside, I was very impressed to see him and his girlfriend waiting for me in a very nice black Audi car. The owner (whose name I can't believe I've forgotten!) and his girlfriend were so nice and friendly and talked to me the entire car ride to Owosso. I could not have had a better experience, thank you Green Cab! read more

I must agree with the previous poster. The service I received was polite, professional, and punctual. Not very chatty (which I suppose is a plus for some and a minus for others). Drove very safely but was by no means slow - very efficient. I have them on speed dial. Cab was clean, well taken care of, and free of dings, temperature was comfortable. I'm giving Green Cab 1 star because when I called 24 hours in advance to book a trip to the Lansing airport the phone was answered promptly, the person was courteous and efficient BUT next am no pickup, hard time contacting office, finally heard " have no idea where she ( the driver) is but we'll try to get someone to pick you up". A friend recommended this cab service. I have used their service a few times. Usually the drivers are all polite and well-mannered and arrive on time which is why I have always tipped them generously for a cab service that is otherwise quite over-priced considering they use hybrid cars with much better fuel economy. But today they sent an old haggard who was extremely rude. I called up Green Cab to give this feedback. When I told the dispatcher, a woman, what had happened and to never to send the same driver again, she dismissively responded that I should use a different cab service and hung up. When I called back saying that she was arrogant to say that, she cussed me out. I think she needs to make an appointment with a shrink soon before Green Cab plummets into oblivion. Terrible service experience!!! SHOULD NOT USE. Had a few bad experiences in the past like forgetting about me while I kept calling asking where it was. but this is the latest bad one. Got in the cab and asked how much, and she said around that. Over charged me and didn't have enough change and ended up giving me quarters, AND auto charged a 2$ tip because she didn't have enough change for only a 1$ tip which she would have received for overcharging me 5$ read more
