Just used iCab a few times for my brother's wedding this past weekend. After the bachelor party, I called them up at 2:30 am - they had a clean Ford Fusion on the spot in 15-20 minutes. I also booked transport for my brother and his new wife post reception all the way out in rural DeWitt. They were on time and flexible with a few changes - really making things easier for the newlyweds. Definitely going to plug these folks into my phone for next time I'm back in EL/Lansing. read more

I called at 10am for a taxi the following morning at 3:40am from Waverly to the Michigan Flyer in East Lansing at 4:00am, and they said we were all set and they had my number. I called at 3:35am to make sure someone was on their way and iCab said they didn't have my reservation and no one could get to me in time for us to get to the bus. We missed the bus (which Michigan Flyer credited to a future trip, thankfully!), and our only option to get to DTW was to take a cab, and iCab was the only company that had someone nearby. We ended up paying $125 to get to DTW, and I was furious. Lesson for the future: Look at Yelp reviews first and make at least one confirmation call or make them send me an email confirmation. read more

iCab has done a wonderful job for my family now for several years. My mother and dad are in their 80's and gave up driving about 3 years ago. iCab has set up an account with them and provided transportation for them flawlessly. The cabs are very clean and the drivers friendly and courteous. My son and daughter-in-law were married this past weekend. iCab provided a beautiful clean 24 passenger bus which transported the wedding party to and from the church. Benny the driver was wonderful! We had the bus return at the conclusion of the reception at our property to provide transportation for guests to the hotel (three trips). Again flawless service. I've used iCab for over a year and had them make plenty of mistakes but today was the last straw. I called at 9:30 am to guarantee a cab at 3:00 pm. Then I get a call at 3:10 saying dispatch just told the driver about my request- and the driver was 20 min away. I missed my bus and lost $20. I will NEVER use iCab again and recommend that no one else use it either. read more

Unbelievably unreliable for a company in business this long, called forty minutes ago still no cab, when they get busy they shut off the phone service with an automated msg that basically says "we are too busy call back later" so I don't even know if it's still coming. I've had trouble like this with them before but I was stuck. Never ever again. Also by far the most expansive service in Lansing. Taxi drivers themselves are always good it has to be said. Cab never arrived and I missed my train. Called the company back and they said the driver called me three times but I never answered, but my phone never rang. I was standing in front of my building for 25 minutes (well ahead of the pickup time) and never saw anyone drive by. I suggest another cab company. read more

The cab driver doesn't even know how to get anywhere in the city he is working. It doesn't really help anyone calling for a cab who isn't familiar with it. I scheduled a pick up an hour ahead of time. never showed. I called the cab driver who said he would pick me up, he told me he was off the clock. so I called the other driver he told me that was coming to get me. he told me he couldn't make because of dispatch. so I called dispatch they told me they would have a car pick me up in 30 minutes. no good I was late for work. started walking to work they called me and told me a car was on its way. well I got about 2 blocks from my work and finally got picked up. drove me 2 blocks and then had the balls to charge for a 2 mile ride. horrible service. I called and asked why I was charged the full amount for a 2 mile ride when they were 35 minutes late and gave me a ride for 2 blocks. screw this cab company. read more

Extremely unreliable Ride scheduled - to airport (I made this very clear when I scheduled) 1 day in advance. Called dispatch when cab was 10 minutes late and was told it would be 5-10 min. Waited 10 more minutes, realized I was cutting it close and drove myself. Driver called 5 minutes later and said he was there - 25 minutes late for an airport scheduled ride. I wound up having to pay $100 in airport parking fees. read more

My friends and I are all working moms and don't get out much. Last Christmas we met up at a wine bar in downtown Lansing and decided to take a cab home at the end of the night. The cab driver found out that a few of us were in town from Chicago and started talking about how expensive cab rides are there. By the time we made it to my girlfriend's house {1.1 miles away} he told us that we owed him $37! We were shocked and asked to see the meter. He said he didn't have one "because that's not how this works". So, we told him we were going to call his boss to confirm that a 1.1 mile ride costs $37. At that point he said "Well, no... don't bother him.... just tell me what you think is fair. You can give me whatever you think is fair." Not cool. At all. read more

He will abuse them with profane insults, demean them, and have them cowering in fear of losing their jobs. They quoted me the rate over the phone and it was good. The driver showed up quickly and was very personable. Why Ray got a 2 star was that he didn't bother to get off his butt and help me with the bags, just sat there ant texted the whole time. Regarding the texting...he had his phone in hand and was texting the whole way to the airport. I wonder if these guys realize their tips are tied into the amount of service provided!!!!! I blame the company for not teaching them this. In California, texting while driving is VERY illegal. Unfortunately, I noticed this attitude of apathy in most of the businesses I visited in Lansing. This is the worst taxi service in the country. Don't try to make reservations for anything important, they'll commit to picking you up, and then won't show up. When you call to find out where your taxi is, they'll tell you that the driver is on the way, and then they'll dispatch a taxi. When the taxi arrives an hour late, they'll take you where you want to go, and then they'll charge you more than the quoted rate, knowing you don't have time to argue. They deserve to be reported to the BBB. read more

i was with my child stuck at his school. i called to ask for a cab. he didnt know where my destination was i had to look it up my self. i was being very friendly because i was infront of my child and out of nowhere the guy on the phone freaks out and tells me i was talking down to him and that me and my child could walk home then he hung up on me. it blows my mind because i had no idea where this came from. when getting into my new cab the driver told me i wasnt the first person to call them because of i cab hanging up on them. iv yet to find a decent review beside the one on this site and with this service and his horrible deminor i can see why. i would highly reccomend not using i cab and calling a bigger more reputible cab service. read more

I'm a bus rider by habit, so when busses don't run, I have to find something else that'll take me to where I need to go. I have been using iCab for MONTHS without any issue. That changed today. This morning, I KNOW that the driver I had has my phone and small clutch wallet in his possession, since I got into the car with it and left without it, only finding out when I got into my office. I tried to contact them all that day, and each person I talked to continued to brush me off, trying to get me to call at a later time. I called them back at the time they requested and refused to talk to me. Now, I needed my phone, especially since my bus pass and IDs were in there. I did NOT appreciate the lackluster attempt at finding my phone since I knew the driver had it and had TURNED IT OFF (I tried both calling it and using the phone's OS system to locate it remotely). So I got the Lansing PD involved. When the officer helped me make the phone call, the person on the line got super aggressive and refused to tell him which driver ran that morning. I am so not impressed. The driver I had also asked me for directions instead of asking me where I wanted to go, which cost me more money because I don't know how to drive and didn't remember the cheaper side streets! I'm less worried about that than I am about the fact that he ran off with my phone and that the company behaved increasingly suspicious about this as the day wore on, leading me to think this is a common occurrence! My advice? If you take their service, sit in the back and watch ALL your things closely! You never know if you'll get it back! read more

I called an Icab for some friends and i because we couldn't get an uber back from the movies. I knew it would be more expensive but what I wasn't prepared for was double the price it took me to get there, the driver making an 8 minute ride last 30 minutes and them charging us by the mile for each person in the cab. My cabi lied about the price when we started and called me twice after we got out of his cab to change the story. My friends found an open fifth in the back seat, and while I understand that there are other riders, the cab company should clean out the car. I called for a cab after shopping on June 16th. I was told a 45 minute wait, which was fine, because I really had no choice. I waited over an hour before I called back and was told that a driver had just picked up my fair and he was on his way, which was a lie. I called back a half hour later and was met by the rudest dispatcher ever that informed me that others had been waiting for 2 hours sorry for my luck. Don't lie to your customers, and Don't get rude to people who had to wait in the rain and then are rude to them. Used this service once, the operative word is ONCE...the person who took my info for pick up/destination gave the driver the wrong info. Needless to say, I arrived late to my meeting. Complained to manager, was told she would f/u with owner to ask about a refund (at least for the ride there) & said she would get back with me; never received a call back, had to f/u the next week, was told that no refund could be the issued b/c I had used the service. These guys would get a zero star rating if it were possible they are the most rude unpolite drivers I've ever met their dispatchers hung up on the phone when I finally got hold up of them. I asked for a ride two days in advance and was guaranteed my ride after 15 minutes of them being late I called a square mile ride was in the dispatcher said oh I'm sorry I didn't know you need a ride when I asked about my reservation she stated that they don't guarantee anything in that they get there when they get there they're not going to rush their drivers. To make matters worse I paid with a credit card and they charge me $22 for what should have been a six dollar cab ride. When I called and disputed the transaction with them they told me that the driver may have made a mistake but they would have to get back with me they never called me back. And I was charged $22 for a six dollar cab ride. I prefer green cab they are a lot better but they didn't have any cabs available for the time I needed. With green cab there also always on time they have never been late in the 4 years I've used them. So if you want to be overcharged band I want to get the worst possible customer service then by all means call icab. read more

Very disappointed in this company... owner doesn't seem too keep up with maintenance on the vehicle yes they are new cars but they are one the road 24/7... Doesn't seem to respect employees even tho they are out here risking their lives every night for his company. This company is terrible. I placed a time order to make it to get an inter-city commuter bus, and they called me about 20 minutes before the cab was scheduled to arrive. Since I didn't expect a call and was making sure I wasn't leaving anything behind, I missed the call. When I called them back five minutes later, the dispatcher told me I had to answer the phone to have the cab come, so they cancelled it and I missed my connection. What a moronic way to act after someone makes an appointment! When I called back repeatedly to talk to the owner/supervisor to complain, they had a recording telling me to call back later! I finally got through and asked to speak with a manager or owner hoping to get some discount on the fare to my destination in return for handing them a still considerable sum of money despite their ridiculous way of doing business and what it had cost me, yet when the person eventually called me back (not surprisingly, no supervisor was at hand), he launched into a rant about how he's been in the industry for years and that's how he operates - no apology or any interest in problem solving, just claims that were so ludicrous, they'd be funny under other circumstances (for example, he insisted that if I make a doctor's appointment and they call to remind me the day before, they'll cancel the appointment unless I pick up the phone to confirm - I couldn't get him to admit that no doctor's office just cancels an appointment in the likely event that someone doesn't personally answer the phone when it rings unexpectedly). He kept cutting me off and talking over me trying to convince me that I should be grateful for an expensive inconvenience. He also kept insisting that this was somehow going into some area they don't normally service, despite this being explicitly listed on their website as an area they do service, and despite it's being in among other areas they explicitly claim to service. When I finally said we should work on the problem and asked what kind of discount I could get to be taken to my destination, he said it was normally $175, and he'd do it for $125. When I told him that I'd called several other companies while I was waiting to hear from him, and they all came in at $125 +/- $5, he said I should give them my business. And I surely will. It's obvious the company couldn't care less about customer service given this outrageous behavior. Don't choose a company based on how it behaves when there's not much going on and everything runs as smoothly as you can imagine - choose one based on how they treat you when they mess up, and on how indifferent they are to your pain as a result of their behavior. read more
