This is the third year we've been coming to this tree lot to pick out our Christmas tree... and we will continue coming! It's become part of our family holiday tradition. There are ample of trees available to look around and browse. They have a wide selection of different types. Our favorite in the noble as they smell sooo good. Students and parents volunteer here at the local MV school and they are always so kind and helpful! You chose your tree and they cut it, trim it, net it and wrap it on your car ready to go. Super convenient! The trees are reasonably priced as well and I love that the profiles go to the school. One thing I learned this year is if you do the turkey trot on Thanksgiving you get a discount on your tree! I will remember that for next year. Highly recommend for a smooth, simple Christmas tree selection place! It does tend to get pretty busy in weekends so I recommend going on the earlier side when it opens! read more

We decided to play the lottery this Christmas and order a tree without seeing it, and having it delivered. The convenience was great, while it takes the fun out of finding a tree and chopping it down, it saved a lot of time for a very busy time of the year. The best part is that the tree was delivered as promised and it's an amazing tree, pretty well packed and great shape, color and smell. This tree lot is simply the best! I'm surprised more people don't know about this place. My boyfriend and I spent an entire day searching for the perfect tree. We went to multiple different places within Menlo Park and Palo Alto and Mountain View and so far only had seen one tree that we were willing to "settle for." Both big chain stores and local tree lots were a disappointment as we saw trees that had many holes, had clearly not been in water since they were cut down two weeks ago and completely dried out, and were overall just disappointing. Not to get too personal, but I had never had a real Christmas tree before and was looking forward to my first Christmas tree seeking/buying experience. After spending a whole day searching through dried out, sad looking trees, I was beginning to worry that settling would be the best we could do without personally going to a tree farm and chopping down a tree myself! But then I found Spartan Tree Lot. Although it only had one review, upon viewing this tree lot's website and seeing that the proceeds go towards the MVHS athletics teams, I had a good feeling. Upon entering the lot, my boyfriend and I were greeted warmly and cheerfully by the many friendly volunteers (shout out to the awesome cashier ladies!!). One look was all it took as the greenest, freshest, most beautiful trees I had ever seen stood proudly before us. It was magical. My boyfriend and I giddily ran around the lot, going from tree to tree until we decided on a very full-looking Nordmann Fir. We told the volunteers which tree we had selected. Next thing we know, they had trimmed it, given our tree a fresh cut, wrapped it in netting and carried it out to our car across the street and secured it for us! We already had a stand at home, but apparently if you bring your tree stand (or you buy one there) they will affix it for you! I can't say enough nice things about this place. Everything from the hilarious and helpful and friendly people to the quality trees to the awesome service made this a magical experience that I will never forget. Thank you, Spartan Tree Lot for making my first real Christmas tree experience so special. :) UPDATE (11/26/2017): They're just as fabulous this year! Same place, same great trees, same awesome people (high school students that are friendly and responsible and adult volunteers that are hilarious and welcoming), same great cause, different boyfriend (but that's neither here nor there...). We went the first day it opened so they were still setting up a lot of trees but 1 minute in and we spotted the perfect tree for us and took it home with us right away. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The best part was that they were able to trim, install the stand ($40), wrap it and load/tie it to our car.... in the rain and they were all still in great spirits. This is my first real christmas tree purchase in over 25+ years so I had no idea the price went up that much. But, with the excellent service, 10% off after checking in on yelp and proceeds going towards the schools programs made it worth it. Definitely coming back next year. read more

5 stars for the great kids working this lot--they were polite and hardworking, and they deserve our support. 1 star for the parents working there. Rude, helped people who came in after us. Almost no trees that would fit in a house with an 8 foot ceiling (like our whole neighborhood was built?) set up despite it being ~4hrs before closing. Had to ask three people for help before someone finally got trees in our size range. 1 star for the driest tree I've ever had in my house. Never been so concerned of fire danger before. read more

Got a great fresh tree the "volleyball" mom's kept the lot open extra 20 min while we decided which tree and got it loaded. First time we ever got a tree home and didn't have to realign it. Thanks to Steve or Steven for doing such a great job loading the tree etc. Got to allocate some of our purchase to sport of our choice or music kinda nice option. Not crowded easy to park and get tree loaded. read more
