We've gotten our trees from here annually for almost 10yrs and it's a holiday tradition now. We love interacting with their helpful staff and learning about the variety of trees offered. It's really organized and they do a nice job making sure the tree is secure to the car. I feel like some of their staff return annually so it's great to see some of them. I just paid $167 for a 10 foot tree that was a little leggy at the top, therefore they charged me for the fair usable size of the tree at a 7-8ft price. I paid $163 down the road for a 5-6 footer. This is the first year in 9 years that we haven't gone to Honey Bear Trees. It was dark and we accidentally drove too far and ended up at their competitor a couple blocks down the street. But all tree farms are the same, right?!?! Wrong. We will never make that mistake again. We've picked out trees at Honey Bear for 15 years and this year asked the owner to choose a tree for us. I specifically asked her to find a small, symmetrical tree. What was delivered to us was ridiculous: a tree with 11" between the top branch and the next highest, and all the lower branch edges were exactly equidistant from the trunk! It was not even the right shape for a Christmas tree. Clearly they chose a reject tree to send out. When I called to express my displeasure, the owner rudely suggested I bring it back and exchange it if I didn't like it. Well, if I could have picked it up the first time, I would have! So the tree went in the trash. $70 tree and $70 delivery fee wasted. read more

First time shopping for a Christmas tree here and had a very positive and stress free experience! My husband and I tried the Home Depot in San Carlos at first but weren't happy with the selection. So, we drove along El Camino and stumbled upon this lot and so glad we did! A bit pricier compared to Home Depot, but very much worth it for the customer service and quality/presentation of the trees. We were greeted by the friendly staff right away and received an overview of what types of trees were available. After browsing for about 10-15 minutes, the staff checked in with us and provided us with pricing. So helpful! We saw several we liked and picked the lucky winner! Honey Bear Tree is the best place to buy a tree, and they have the best employees and customer service. I called them when my tree stand was leaking, and they came over and changed it out for me... While they were here, they made the realization that they didn't sell my type of tree at their lot. I then realized that I made a mistake, and I didn't buy my tree from them. Even though they recognized the tree I bought wasn't theirs, they still fixed it and gave me a free tree stand. Seriously the most helpful people ever - you can tell this company is family-owned and understand the value of their customer (even when you really aren't one!!) Truly appraise the help.
