I just returned from a stressful 10 days of travel and really in need of a massage, they were actually able to get me in right away with Serena. When I arrived I was greeted nicely and I filled out some questions on an iPad, some of which are standard but some that are extra and actually really helpful, such as what type of music do you want playing, do you want conversation with the therapist, etc. and they let you choose one of three scents for the massage lotion. While the entrance is a little small, once I was taken back to the women's area I was pleasantly surprised that you had a quiet room to sit and relax in upon waiting for your massage. You have a locker with the softest plushest robe!! And While this isn't large and in charge like the Peppermill or Atlantis, it was still a very nice area with water and tea, AND warm neck towels that I enjoyed thoroughly after my massage while I rested for about 30 minutes. The massage and Serena were great. I feel like Serena listened to what I wanted and was hoping for. I've always heard the term "hurts so good" but massages, at least when I have so many knots, is always just a hurts so bad type of situation for me haha. She has the perfect medium pressure for me and she did not make it harder pressure just to work out the knots, she kept it the same which was really great. She also made me feel comfortable enough that if it wasn't what I wanted to let her know, and she did ensure twice that the pressure was okay on both the upper and lower body. My 80 minute massage gave me a nice dreamy sleepy mood, and I was so happy with it I ended up signing up for a membership! It's 20$ off the regular price of a massage and you get a once a month treatment. Depending on your tier level you can choose a facial or body treatment instead. I decided this is a good investment for my physical health. I'm looking forward to seeing Serena again so she can put me into relaxation mode while making my whole body feel better! read more

I even get a text after my canceled appointment time asking me to rate my massage; the massage that I didn't get, because it was canceled, again. I ended up canceling my membership. I went to Spavia the first time a few weeks ago. It was a very good experience. I was promptly greeted by a nice young lady behind the counter. She took me to the men's area, showed me my locker and gave me a robe and slippers. I had scheduled the Swedish massage and the young man that was doing it was right on time. I was able to choose the music that I wanted to hear during my massage. He asked me some questions and went to work. He did a great job! The facility was clean and well kept. What a fantastic Experience at Spavia at the Summit in Reno. Truly a Five Star Spa Experience. This was my first real facial. A gift from my friend. From the minute I walked into Spavia, I felt I was in a spa atmosphere. Inviting music, welcoming staff, a store filled with products, gifts and blankets and a warming wrap which I took one home. I filled out forms and chose my music and lotion for my service. I had the pleasure to have Esthetician, Monica Sanchez as my Facial Expert. Outstanding! First as you walk through the doors to the resting area, there are comfy chairs, cold water or hot tea and heated neck wraps for your pleasure. Then you go into the Women's or Men's locker room where you get a locker..it has your name on the front...a beautiful and cozy spa robe and shoes for you to put on. This is where you leave your clothes. Then, your Esthetician or Masseuse will come and get you, and take you to their room for your service. Already, this was a wonderful experience even before my facial. Haha Monica came to get me, and as I walked with her into her beautiful and inviting room, I felt comfortable and the music was on and the room was so beautiful. The lighting was inviting and so calming. Monica was so kind and professional. I got on the bed which was heated and got under the sheets. I never knew how much an Esthetician does for you, within a facial. It was truly a beautiful experience. Here is what an Esthetician does during a facial: Facial massage, cleansing, exfoliation, steamer...my favorite, mask one for impurities, mask 2 for soothing, hand, arm, neck and shoulder massage with lotion that feels so smooth, and then the finishing products for your face. Then you are glowing. Also, you can choose to talk or not talk during your facial..I chose talking. I enjoyed Monica's personality and that was also a beautiful experience. I then was walked back to the resting area and said goodbye to Monica..I will see you again. I sat with my friend and put on a heated neck wrap, had some cold water and just thought about my wonderful experience. A Five Star Facial and a lovely gift experience from my friend. You can choose to have a membership which I am now considering. The girls upfront do not push the membership. If you inquire, they will tell you all about the services and pricing offered. This was a Wow Experience. This is now my Choice of Spas for relaxation, rejuvenation and facial maintenance. Our friends recommended this place so we decided to check it out for a late V-day date. Pros: the staff was welcoming and our masseuses were excellent. We def enjoyed our couples sports premium and Swedish massages and felt rejuvenated. I liked the guava scented lotion and warmed table. Prices were reasonable too. I also liked the little touch they had having our lockers with our name on it. Cons: I thought it was a fan but I think it might have been a white noise machine. With the music, it was a little loud. No amenities like a sauna or steam room, pool are available. As for decor and ambiance- it was average. Wouldn't say it's a luxury experience. read more

The ridiculous scheduling is completely unacceptable. Every time I schedule an appointment I get called the day before or day of being told they are or need to move my appointment to maximize their schedule. It's such a pain in the ass. I scheduled for the time I'm available to be there. The website is so incredibly difficult to book through that it ruins the experience. The receptionist, Rachel needs a serious lesson in customer service and etiquette. She's rude, she talks over the customer and has zero regard for the customer that is paying for the service.I was not given an option to maintain my appointment time. I was arbitrarily given an adjusted time that didn't work for me because of where I was coming from and the schedule I was maintaining. She was rude and dismissive. I have to find a way to cancel this miserable membership that has no respect to customers time. All they care about is that they got the payment. read more

I held a membership for approximately 1 year. During that time they cancelled appointments at least 50% of the time and couldn't reschedule for weeks. They have a very 'too bad so sad' attitude about the situation as well. I cancelled my membership, which is cumbersome, and have been trying to use my remaining credits. As per usual, they have cancelled every single one for the past month. They go through technicians extremely fast, which is obviously a signal of how they treat employees. I received a gift card for Spavia in the Spring and couldn't wait to try it out. I scheduled a salt stone massage and went to my appointment. Upon arrival, I was greeted by friendly staff who took me to the locker room, gave me a robe, locker & slippers and let me get ready for my massage. The locker room is small, but has plenty of space for changing. Then I proceeded to the retreat room to wait for my massage therapist to come and get me. The retreat room offers a variety of hot teas, cold water & warm neck pillows to help you get cozy while you wait. There are a number of benches, but there is only one big comfy chair (which is my favorite). The lights are dim and the music is very soothing. We then went in for my massage and it was glorious. The products that they use are very high quality and their employees are always top notch. That same day, I signed up for a premier monthly membership. I highly recommend Rosa for any skin care / facials and Rebecca for your massages. They offer a great app that makes it easy to schedule your favorite services in advance. TL;DR: Appointment was booked incorrectly by staff member, massage was cut short by 10 mins, charged normal price, ignored email correspondence. Made me pay for their mistake. Great massage therapist, but customer service needs to be worked on, clearly.. UPDATE: Dropped 2 stars, from 3 to 1, for customer service. The spa manager, Amanda, reached out to me by phone a few days after my review. I was at work so I asked her to call back after a few hours. She said she would but never did. I received an email the following day that she tried to call me but the phone number was "not working". No voicemail so who knows.. Amanda tried to pull the same trick that the front desk person tried when I came in, and give me a $20 off for my next visit. The $20 off everyone gets on their first time! I'm not sure if everyone's massage is also cut by 10 minutes to accommodate this generosity. I emailed her back same day but never heard back. It's been 2.5 weeks! Amanda's follow up skills need a little dust up, because apparently she doesn't call back when she says she would, and ignores clients emails. Great job! I was a business manager for over 7 years until recently, and I would NEVER ignore an email from my clients, as it is simply unprofessional. I was seriously considering making this my husband and my go-to place in Reno, but it doesn't matter how good the massage is, this is not the service I want to receive. ORIGINAL REVIEW: My massage therapist was 5/5, the 2 stars I deducted are for whoever booked my husband and my appointments over the phone, weeks ago, and completely messed up our times, duration and type of massage. We arrived 15 mins early, as instructed, but because of this mishap and time wasted sorting out this mess, my massage started late and was cut short of the 60 mins. I normally get 90 min massages but settled for 80 because this is what was offered. The scheduling mishap made my massage 20 min shorter, and figuring this mess made my massage 5-10 mins shorter. The massage therapist, Felipe, was excellent, great hands, perfect pressure and powerful technique. I went into the massage already feeling not-so great knowing it's 20 mins less than what I booked, but cutting it 5-10 min shorter was just unacceptable. I still tipped because I didn't want to punish the therapist, who worked hard and did his part, but I still left feeling wronged and not happy about this. Do NOT let the lobby/reception area fool you, this place is huge! There's a beautiful and spacious restroom/dressing area with lockers to store your personal items. Complimentary robes (that are so soft and fluffy) and slippers as SOON as you put these on and grab a complimentary heated Lavender neck pillow; it's like the outside world is a million miles away. I was then quickly whisked away to a private room where my couples massage began and my stress and tension ended.
